Don’t go there if you don’t want to drive through the drive-through and get a nail in your tire. I’ve had a nail in my tire twice from their drive-through .They won’t let you park on the street and carry your stuff in, terrible customer service.
So if you choose not to use their drive thru they don’t buy from you.last time I went there I ended up getting $40 ripped off but ended up spending $90 on a tire from a nail in my tire from the drive thru don’t waist your time
The guys working there are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable.. great service. No complaints. Not the owner on a fake account just a customer that frequents can dew recycling

Rude, short and annoyed by their customers . I guess if you were naïve and went there you would agree with everything they say and their supercilious attitude would appear nice gullible. Either that or your a scrap yard owner named Sam Schafer and your blowing air up peoples behinds. Whe you posted 2 hours after me. (Yeah Sam I know exactly who you are) When I pulled in the lot I stopped at the stop sign and was greeted by a employee on a forklift 20 feet away screaming at me to stop . They’re also aggressive if you question anything. I asked for a quote on cat 5/6 computer cable and got a quote for coaxial cable with a. $.45 difference. There’s no way on earth you can work in the scrap yard and not know what cat 5 or 6 cable are. So the guy was either playing dumb or flat out lying.
Rockaway scrap metal prices are standard for the industry. Normally Kentucky is at most $.10 or $.20 under rockaways price. At reputable places like River city metal and Garden Street metals.
Rockaway had bare bright copper wire at $3.05 . Can dew low balled it at $2.55 a lb. Rockaway had #1 copper tubing at $2.85 a lb. Can-dew low balled it at $2.45 a lb. Rockaway metals had #2 copper with solder, paint and small brass elbows at $ 2.65 a lb. Can dew invented a Category I’ve never heard of at any other scrap yard. They claimed copper tubing with “copper” elbows , solder or even a little paint was “ chop copper “ and gave $.58 a lb which is a robbery (no other way to say it) of $2.07 per pound.
The money is short and they insist on playing the “pre weighed “ containers game. They would never let you lay even 5 lbs of metal directly on the scale. They need a surprise visit from the Ky bureau of weight and measurements
I haven’t been there for a while but I have to assume the old owner is dead. He was an honest man.

Can Dew lied to me. They stated that I needed to have the title of the vehicle for the catalytic converter I was attempting to sell. When in fact:To sell a converter, the state requires proof of ownership. Examples include title, registration, insurance, repair receipt, or something with your name and the VIN # of the vehicle it came from—paid by check.
I specifically asked if the registration was acceptable and was told no
There was a guy that works there whom was very helpful by informing me that if I separate certain types of copper I will be able to get more for my money. Not only that he helped me separate it. Majority of time very nice.
There always nice to me. It us what it is as far as prices to be paid. It's close and convenient for me. But the only thing I don't understand is that they will not accept any irony from ac units?? I think that sucks, because not everyone steals there recycling products. But other than that there great.
I have only dealt with the steelyard. Small, but well-run, good assortment of stuff that is nicely categorized. I have bought there a few times over a couple of years.
Great experience with Can Dew Recycling. I had some scrap copper pipe and metal pipe from a bathroom demo. I'm not sure that they paid the highest price for the metal, but it was quick and easy!
Note: I had to load the scrap on carts myself.
It is a great company to do business with. They are very helpful when I bring large loads of steel to the steelyard by helping unload. They always give great advice on how to break down metal so I can really get my money's worth. I really enjoy the employees they are very friendly. Phil, I would like to say keep up the great work you're company will always see us in the future.
