Update: I brought the vehicle to another collision center. The new one found the shotty work along with missed work. The new quote put the needed repair at well over the totaling value of the car. I tried calling the manager who wrote the reply and he stood behind his techs work. I’ve attached pictures of the shoddy work. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! If I could give zero stars I would. I brought my vehicle here after it hit a deer. We described the issues the vehicle was having and they sent a quote to the insurance. First issue: They tried to pass a different make/model bumper off on to us and squeeze it on. Now the headlights are out of alignment. Second issue: They fixed the major cosmetic issues, ignored the smaller ones. An example would be the dent in the door by the fender. Chunks of paint out of the hood. Third issue: There was damage done to the undercarriage covering (not sure what its called). Instead of replacing the parts they tore it off. Now when driving the vehicle in the rain, water comes up through the floor. Fourth issue: I told them there was issues with the vents working intermittently and the transmission. They did nothing for this. Why? "We don't perform that work here, you will have to take it elsewhere." It would have been nice to know that 3 months ago. Final results: I brought the car to another shop. The shop said that the body work would need to be redone, the electrical issues would require pulling the whole dash to find the issue, the transmission cooling lines would need to be replaced, the transmission would need to be looked at for damage because it had been overheating due to the bad cooling lines and the undercarriage would need new parts. Results: Car is totaled. Don Jacobs was fine to put it back on the road.

Brought my Ford Edge in to fix some damage to the rear of my vehicle after an accident. Upon getting my vehicle back not only did they get it back to me sooner than what was estimated. They a quality job of making it like the scratch and dent was never there!

Service was friendly with everyone i encountered at Don Jacobs Paint and Body shop. My car had been in an accident and needed repair. Don Jacobs paint and body shop gave me quick, complete and accurate information and interacted with the rental car company and with my insurance. They were able to beat their own time estimate by several days and also allowed me to drop my rental car off with them Instead of having to take it back to the rental place! Excellent!! And better yet… My car looks good as new! Thank you!

My friend thought she had a quarter size paint chip that had rusted on her hood. I drove her to Don Jacobs to get an estimate. Tim Meckes helped her. He did an outstandung job and was very friendly.

For 31 hours of work, done over the course of three weeks, I thought that a $5500 bill would justify a little bit better result. I dropped my car off on Monday with an estimated week turn around time; 2 weeks in I was informed that parts had been ordered and the updated return date was 6/18. On 6/20 I was jerked around, after being texted that my “go home” date was here. Back and forth about me being out of town for the weekend and being unable to wait around to see whether they could rush completion by closing time left me delayed on my trip and in the rental for the weekend. The following Monday, I was informed that they realized a part had been missed and pick up was delayed until today, 6/24, 22 days after initially dropping off my vehicle. Upon returning home and more closely inspecting repairs, the paint match and bumper replacement are subpar. The difference in color between the doors and the front side panels could be due, in part, to difference in age of the paint but the bumper was installed misaligned.

The team at Don Jacobs Paint and Body was fantastic! They worked efficiently with both me and my insurance company to ensure the damage to my car was taken care of smoothly. Jarrett Payne was especially helpful—flexible with my schedule for both drop-off and pick-up, which made the process so much easier. I really appreciated having a representative keep me updated on my car’s status while I was out of town. Great communication and excellent service all around!

Very torn about my experience. Work was done quickly and well, but incomplete. Trim was not snapped in. Manager and receptionist would do well to listen and respect customers. A little bit of courtesy would help you understand a concern and make a happy customer. Responding to owner: I believe the lack of concern from you would indicate customer respect is not a priority. I'm not likely to return.

I recently had the pleasure of working with the auto body company at Don Jacobs, and I can’t say enough good things about my experience. From the very beginning, their team demonstrated exceptional planning and scheduling skills, making the entire process seamless. They coordinated everything with my insurance, including providing a rental car, which was incredibly convenient. I didn’t have to worry about a thing while my car was being repaired. The quality of the work done on my vehicle was nothing short of professional. When I picked up my car, it looked as if nothing had ever happened; they truly have a knack for detail. The team was not only skilled but also friendly and approachable, making the experience even more pleasant. Moreover, the project was completed exactly on schedule, just as promised. I came to this body shop at the recommendation of the insurance agent after someone rear-ended me. I need my vehicle for work so I scheduled a time for the shop to work on my van after parts came in so that I wouldn't lose work days for no reason. In the 5 month fiasco of dealing with this shop they have ordered wrong parts, forgot to order parts, left my van sitting without being worked on for a week without telling me, and in the end half my repairs didn't even get done so now I have taken my vehicle to another shop. During this whole time I was called once by Aram, who was the representative here that I was working with. Every other time I would have to call and leave multiple messages to get through to him. In some instances I even had to show up in person just to get him to give me an update. I lost several days of work for my vehicle to not even be fully fixed due to incompetence, negligence, and horrible communication. Multiple times I would talk through what I wanted and expected to happen with Aram, to include under what circumstances to call me or what to do regarding aspects of the repair and every time he would ignore my requests and wait multiple days until I called back to give me simple answers. None of my requests were unreasonable. I asked to be called when the parts came in, or for when my vehicle would be ready or if there would be any delays, only to find out that they sat on the parts for a week, then sat on my van for a week because they needed another part that they didn't think to update me regarding. I asked to be called when they received the appearance allowance check that they were giving me for some of the damage they didn't fix, and they sat on that for a week too. I verbally went through all the damage and issues multiple times and then was told they didn't know they had to work on those items. If you can go to any other body shop I urge you to do so, and if you must go here do not work with Aram, as his lack of communication, and inability to follow through on simple requests or instructions speaks to either gross incompetence or willful negligence.

I was happy on the front end of working with Tanner. I was not sure when to pick up my car so I called the day before. I was told I would receive updates. When I went to get my car I had to wait which was fine. I was told by Rachel that the cleaning equipment broke was broken so there was a delay. She was nice and took my money. Tanner gave me my key about 5:14PM and I was told my car was out front. Not sure where it was parked and which way out front but I found it. Normally I have been walked out and shown the work but it was cold I guess. I was never thanked for my business after spending $1300 (it was not too cold for that). Finally my car is dirty even where the repairs were done in the lot (not sure how that happened) so it is hard to tell how the paint matches etc. I have to work so will need to go to a spray wash so I can tell over the weekend. It seemed like after they had my car there was not a lot of customer service or attention to detail.

Working with Don Jacobs on my car body repair was a very pleasant experience. All the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. They kept me informed each step of the way. If needed, I would certainly use their services again.

From estimate to completion, I experienced clear communication about the length of time my repairs would take, etc. The repair work was actually completed a day earlier than expected! My car looks GREAT! Pick up was quick too! I highly recommend Don Jacobs Paint & Body for repairs.

I am completely floored at how poorly I was treated here. I was the victim of a wreck and if anything expected some pushback from the other driver’s insurance company. Geico was actually very easy to work with and helpful. Don Jacobs was not. Mark was rude to me and laughed in my face from day one. It must be a toxic place to work because over the course of a month that my car was there for something that should have been simple, other employees such as Rachel and Jarrett broke promises and became rude and gaslighting as well. They fixed my cosmetic damage without ever having a mechanic look at my car like they kept promising. I have taken it elsewhere and there is at least $2,000 worth of damage that they overlooked and told me was “normal” for an “older car.” My car was 9 years old but it was a well taken care of Honda that never had ANY problems and is the best care I’ve ever had. So now I am stuck paying $2,000+ out of pocket if I want to be able to drive my car. It felt like a nightmare trusting my car with them and I wish I had gone somewhere else. Clearly this is a toxic work environment and money and their working relationships with other companies is #1 and the customer is never right or important to them.

My wife’s 2020 Tucson was damaged on the passenger side, got both front and rear doors. The other person’s insurance company recommended Don Jacobs Paint and Body. We chose to go with Don Jacobs, due to availability to get it in quickly. Our choice was definitely the correct one. The staff was completely professional, and courteous. They got our car in, and completed in an extremely timely fashion. The work is flawless, and I highly recommend Don Jacobs Paint and Body to anyone.

Great experience, transparent practices and communication, and a reasonable price that demonstrated how badly I was about to be taken for a hefty ride (>3x the cost) by another body shop in town. I highly recommend Don Jacobs for body work and repair. Tanner was my main contact, but everyone I spoke with was top-notch and helpful.

WARNING TO REPEAT CUSTOMERS: READ THE RECENT CRITICAL REVIEWS. With so much going on with me personally, I really needed the white glove treatment that I got the last time from the Paint and Body shop. It was so easy before, and I counted on that when someone else hit me again recently. They took the car, told me they would handle everything with insurance, and I went on my way. An airbag light appeared right after I picked up my car, you would have thought I just split the atom. So much confusion and all the shields went UP. This was a complex problem that had to be diagnosed by the service center (a separate business) but the body shop told the insurance company it was hole in the airbag because they misunderstood the diagnosis. After the body shop conveyed this, Shelter shut my case, denied my coverages, and stopped taking my calls. I still don't know if they know the truth. Ended up just paying Don Jacobs for my car back. What a nightmare. 5 or 6 visits, maybe 40 or 50 calls to/from them and the insurance company, they've had my car for weeks at a time. I've had to leave work early, arrive late, get rides from coworkers, friends, and I just paid $1,085 to get the car back (finally fixed). This was all after an accident where I WAS THE VICTIM. I've never seen such unprofessionalism and incompetent mismanagement. Also I've never been yelled at by a manager before - that was an experience too! Mark was an unpleasant and arrogant man, I've dealt with more mature toddlers. He said in 15 years experience, he nor his team have ever made a mistake. He also told me it was his intention to tell the insurance company that neither the body shop nor the insurance was responsible so that I would be stuck with the bill. He actually said these things - please Don Jacobs leadership - please review the call recordings. Can't wait to read his sassy response to my critical review. Spare yourself the headaches, find another body shop. For the record, I paid the bill only to get my car back. I still do not feel responsible for this bill - it should (always) have been up to Shelter and Don Jacobs to settle this dispute on the back end. DO NOT believe all the stars! Though shop did cover rental cost for second trip to get work completed on items missed; the poor communication, delays and excuses regarding why car wasn’t ready were wildly frustrating and created extra expenses. If they tell you the car will be ready in three days, plan for six or seven (provided you call every three or four days to make sure there is progress on the vehicle). Promises for regular updates or photographs of progress were never followed through with. The same applied to the scheduling for follow up work. Promises to be called for available openings were never completed and required customer diligence to get the car back in. The customer service at checkout is nonexistent. Having the cashier blame the customer for choices made based upon time frames provided by the adjuster that led to extra expenses flies in the face of customer service. One star was given to the painter(s) for their quality work in blending new paint on a vehicle a few years old, a half for the technician who stepped out and reset the radio after the battery was disconnected and the claims adjuster present on an early Saturday when I first brought the vehicle back to point out incomplete work - after it took they 6.5 weeks in the first place. Final half star is for the recognition to cover a rental when a client has to come back a second time to get the work done correctly. This was not my insurance company’s recommended repair place and I now know why!

Charged me for a "new" door on my car. They did NOT install a new door. There were leaves and RUST on the bottom of the "new" door they charged me for. Also, the "new" door came with a TINTED window due to the others being stock and without tint, I've now got a random tinted window on my vehicle....

We took our BMW X7 in to be repaired after a rear end accident that occurred 36 hours into owning this brand new vehicle. It took 2 weeks to complete the repair due to part delivery. When I picked up the vehicle, it was raining hard so I didn't inspect the work until I got home in my garage. I was very disappointed in the quality of work. I expected our vehicle would be new again but the bumper cover replacement was not installed properly, leaving 2 places where the cover touches the rear gate. In those areas, the bumper cover is not secure, you can push down on it and there is a lot of movement. Of course, I questioned everything else that they did after finding this issue. A closer look at the paperwork, they listed the mileage at check in as 237. The mileage out was listed as 82,021. Obviously a mistake but the actual mileage was 2,378 once I got home. I communicated through email due to the time of day and the response I got was "sorry" and "bring it back next week". It's extremely inconvenient for my wife or I to return to the body shop with our schedules and the fact that we live in Richmond. This is their mistake and they should go out of their way to keep it from being an inconvenience to us. Once this is resolved, I will not be using Don Jacobs Paint & Body for future auto body needs.
