Our corporate office is in Louisville, KY. The Lexington location buys various metals for recycling. Ferrous and non-ferrous as well as batteries and radiators. Lexington does not buy car bodies. The Shelbyville location would be glad to take them.

We moved to a new house and I spent several months collecting and sorting metal and copper as I was doing repairs. The amount of money I got for it was definitely not worth the time or effort I spent. I suggest doing something else with your metal besides bringing it here.
Never will I go here they ripped me off close to 90 today and couldn't give me my copper back cause it was dummed in. The rest of the copper ,,never again!
I’m only leaving a one star review, because this company thinks that their commercial needs to be ridiculously loud. I know it’s a marketing thing to make commercials louder to draw the attention of customers, but you don’t need to bust our speakers. Be better
Staff are all ready to help you and get you paid n gone.. the yard is easy to navigate and the place is easy to get to/ find. Basically you pull up by the gate to the yard and unload your metals other than steel to be weighed inside the warehouse then pull straight through the yard to get weighed on the scales, when you get the green light you pull to the left to the particular pile with the same kind of scrap you got. Then weigh after unloading the steel and go inside to the window and the nice lady will ring you up if you have your id.. wish those instructions were posted before i went there first..
Another recycling center that I had been using for many years became increasingly difficult to work with. I called Peggy and visited Midwest for the first time today. They really have a smooth operation and are very easy to work with. You’ve earned a new customer! Thank you very much!!
Going today for my third trip in a month. I'm a plumber with lots of copper and brass. Always friendly,fast and fair. Also have their prices on website(a few days old but always pay up to date rate). At C###n I'm just waiting for a flat tire,and you have to call for prices. Go here first.
Great place to work, true open door policy with the owner you're a name not a number. Shop has top quality engine mechanics, very knowledgeable on diesel engines, we don't try to be the biggest, we strive to be the BEST! Found my home ,be part of a team.
If you’re looking to get the most money for your metal it’s not this place. I chose it because of the reviews but was given $6 for a dryer. That’s a dollar more than the gas it took to get there. Not to mention, the man that unloaded it wouldn’t accept help and flung it out of my vehicle leaving a mark on my bumper. Better off to have the city come pick up large items if you’re trying to be economical.
I’ve been looking for this place for forever!!! I followed a couple here once from another recycling place and couldn’t recall where it was- until now. Thankfully I met a man that knew what I was talkin about who could tell me where to look!!! I won’t return to the other place- when I came here, the people that worked the yard were super friendly, helpful, jovial & all around pleasant. The payout was better, by far- and some workers even explained ways for me to increase my earnings from them with simple little things on my end! Who does that?!?! Their workers are clearly not only there to collect a check, they care. So happy to have found this place again… returning there today in just a couple hours :D Yay! Will keep ya posted if anything’s changed from my last memory there, though I doubt it- highly recommend Midwest Metals Corp for all your scrapping/recycling needs!!!
Took metals in to their facility June 25, 2019, excellent experience. My first visit to their shop but not my first scrap sales experience with others. If I ever have a need to dispose of surplus metals, they will be the place I will go. Fast, Professional, Polite, Friendly. What more can I say!
I went to this place and I had a few things but the most was a bunch of different copper pipes and some of them were pretty big and heavy and when I got paid they said I just had 40 pounds of copper but I know because I couldn’t pick it up out of the truck all at once and so I know if I couldn’t lift more than 42 pounds I need to just give up but it’s ok with me I’ll never go there aga I’d rather throw it away an let someone else deal with it
Hey i go to these guys all the time. They're great people and they pay better than most. But mostly they're fair guys that won't take advantage of the little guy.
Its almost only scrapyard i go to awesome people friendly environment and there always helping unload your scrap and they give the most for your non ferrous and scrap metal
