My family and I decided to try some local wineries on this trip to the Louisville area. Let me tell you, this winery, the winemaker, and the wines did NOT disappoint! First, Mr Jim welcomed us in like friends and told us all about his winery. He not only makes the award winning wines, but he is an amazing chef and his charcuterie of summer sausages, cheeses, & fruit were phenomenal. We sat in his quiet and scenic enclosed sun room for our informative tasting. Charlie the wine dog was great company, too! We had several favorite wines. We loved the KY Diamond and the Diamond Rose. Jessi’s Red was also delicious. The sample of the warm spiced wine he fixed us warmed us up and was a special treat! This was one of the best things about our family National Farm Show trip to this area. Please go see Mr Jim! His wines are second to none! You will be so glad you went and visited and tasted his wines. We will definitely go back and order some, too.
A lovely winery nestled in the woods with views of the vineyard and a shop dog, Charlie. A good selection of wines and the owner makes the sausages for meat and cheese trays himself. I was happy to have a venison option.
Tried a tasting, $7.00, consist of 6 tastes your choice. The cheese tray was good but a little on the skimpy side for 8.00.
Overall great wine, fair price and pretty scenery.
Beautiful location, healthy Vineyard, great wines and a big selection of different wines - many awards over the 19 years. You must come and experience this vineyard!!!
Super cute couple ran winery. It is in a quiet area with a decent amount of seating. And of course, lots of yummy wine, we left with three bottles after our tasting!
This is off the beaten path! It’s in a neighborhood so if you think you’re going the wrong way you’re not. Once you get there it looks small but it’s huge they have an open glass room that is pretty big. It’s so relaxing. The cheese and meat plate is great the wines are delicious! My favorite is the apple pie! The owner is so welcoming too! Very friendly! I think the only thing that would have made this trip better is if they offered a bed and breakfast ?.
The owners were amazing. Couldn't get an uber to pick us up however they allowed us to stay wayyyy after closing time. They were sooo kind and understanding. The winery is a total 10 out of 10. The dog Charlie is the best loved him being there. Jim and Sandy are awesome!!! The wines are great hard to find good non sweet reds and they have em!!! Definitely a good selection.
We researched wineries that are supposedly dog friendly. Every other winery that we’ve stopped at that was posted as dog friendly either happily allowed a dog inside on a leash or directed us to an outside area where we could participate in a wine tasting.
This winery, when asked, did not offer us the option of having our dog on their very large patio or allow him inside. When asked why we were told the woman who was attending to the bar has a dog that isn’t friendly to others. ?♀️. We left.
I visited 4 years ago while at Fort Knox. The quality of the wines has remained top notch, my wife and our friends had a blast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the wine, the day and the atmosphere. Chuck was a huge hit with our group.
Best winery I've been to in Kentucky. We came up from Arkansas for a family visit. Excellent customer service, friendly atmosphere and Charlie the winery dog made it even better !!! Definitely will be back on our next visit to Kentucky.
They have a great selection of wines. Love their wine club. The owners and staff provide awesome service with a happy, laid back atmosphere. It's always a pleasure to visit this establishment. A visit here is a must.
A beautiful place to visit! Very friendly staff! They really make you feel welcome and check on you constantly! That was my first time there, but will not be my last! The wine selection is awesome and the cheese is some of the best! And I have to mention Charlie the dog. He greets you at your car and walks you to the door (No lie) the cutest thing I've ever seen ❤️.
This place is wonderful! Tucked away with beautiful scenery in the back, the house-made wines cover a nice broad spectrum of flavors/types. 6 samples for 5 bucks, cheese trays available. The owners are so nice and personable - can't recommend this place enough. We will be coming back for sure!
My husband and I stopped in for a wine tasting, we are so glad we did. Jim was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome. The wines are delicious...we purchased several bottles to take back home with us. Large enclosed patio to sit and wonderful views. Highly recommend stopping in and enjoying a glass of wine!!!
Sandra, one of the owners, was extremely kind and pleasant to talk to. Their wine selections are amazing! The entire process for the Winter Solstice is amazing and the taste is amazing as well. The Wight Meyer property is also beautiful and tucked away in the country.

Had a great time with wonderful music. The Other Smother Brothers were playing. The indoor venue was good but once the windows are opened and we can spread out it will be great. Wine is good but bring your own food.
What a wonderful experience! We have been to many wineries and by far this is the best! Warm, welcoming and Charlie the pupp was super cute! We enjoyed every wine we tasted today!
We had an awesome visit on our last day of visiting Louisville this week. After the “bourbon” experience we were looking for some wine tasting and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. Wine was great, owners made us feel at home and would recommend the journey. Thank you Sandy and Jim.
Another fantastic winery in Kentucky. The have a vineyard on the site which you can walk through. We tasted 6 wines for $5. They have a variety of wines, but grow grapes for their Vignoles and Diamond wines. They also have concerts in Saturday nights. All the wines we tried were very light and easy to drink!
The wine at Wight-Meyer is wonderful!! My daughter and I stopped in for a glass on our way to the airport and were warmly welcomed!! Here is a picture of my two favorite wines ❤???
As we arrived, one couple in our party of 6 informed us that this winery participated in Groupon. While we were loading the app and approaching the door, we noticed a hand-written sign on the door saying Groupon required a 24 hour notice. When we got inside, we asked about it and that was confirmed. Then, a group of 4 arrived and said they had just purchased the Groupon. The server said she would except it, then told us we could use Groupon it too, since we had originally asked. So, we stepped outside for cell service and was able to get one of the two purchased before one of our party was told by the other server that they would not except it because we were a party of 6 and did not call 24 hours in advance. Now our friends had a Groupon purchase that could not be used and they are from out-of-state. Additionally, our cheese platter was served and was ordered based on the expectation of using the Groupon. In the meantime, another couple arrived that we know. The server that refused the Groupon then fussed that we had a “large party” and didn’t call ahead. She stated we would have been moved into the back so we could chat. This was no problem at any of the other wineries we visited. We weren’t nearly as loud as a group of 4 sitting at one of the tables. The “back” is a wide open area void of the ambiance of the tasting room. If you are not a fan of big dogs, they have two that wonder in and out of the tasting area, but normally kept in the “back” with their chew toys and bedding, the same area they want “large groups” to go chat. The dogs are nice and very tame, but something to be aware of. Wines were OK, but we found that we only enjoyed 2 of the flavors. There prices on some of the accessories was reasonable and even a little less than other places on a few items. But, we will pass this location on future outings because of the frustration and the fact that the two ladies could not get on the same page. One was extremely nice and talkative. The other, not so much.
I've come here on several occasions and typically bring out of state family to try the wine. The tastings are reasonably priced. The land is gorgeous. The service has always been wonderful. Not to mention, this is my favorite wine in the area! Highly recommend.
