Our brakes went out while we were traveling cross country in our Ford Transit RV (Winnebago Ekko). Dallas at Davis Automotive in Hays, Kansas, took us right in, assessed the issue, and repaired out brakes super-quickly - all for a very reasonable price. Dallas and his guys had us back on the road in no time, with very friendly, very professional service. We cannot say enough good things about David Automotive, and how well they took care of us - they have our very highest recommendation.

Lock my key in a Mack dump truck. They said ,James can be there in 30mins. And he was. James came out and the job was a bit more difficult than expected but he never gave up. Great job James and thank you again.

Davis was the service provider for Good Sam Roadside Assistance. We broke down 45 miles west of Hays, Kansas and within 2 hours we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel and our car taken to repair shop. I was completely shocked at the promptness of Davis Automotive & Towing. Their employee James was ABSOLUTELY the best. As mentioned he arrived within 30-45 minutes from 40 miles away and had us back in Hays at our hotel with car in tow by dark. James was extremely pleasant and very professional conducting business and I’m sure one of Davis’s best employees. I can’t thank him enough for doing his job so expeditiously. Follow up, after being dropped off and getting a good nights rest we woke up and called Davis Automotive. I almost expected that the awesome service we received from James the night before couldn’t last. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop in getting my car fixed and us back on the road and felt I was kind of over a barrel and at the mercy of Davis. Then entered Dallas, he answered the phone when I called. He was pleasant and advised they were diagnosing the problem and it would be a few minutes before they’d know what the repair would entail. At this point, I was expecting the worse. He called back and advised he had all the parts and was able to fix the water pump, idler pulley, tensioner, and the belt that same morning for 1200.00. This was at 9:00 AM. The hotel we were at had a checkout of 11:00 AM but extended that until noon for us. By 11:30 Dallas called back and advised they were done, he came to my hotel pick me up with my vehicle. I took him back to the shop, settled up and we were back on the road by noon. I would advise and recommend Davis Automotive & Towing to anyone and everyone, and if I didn’t live a thousand miles away I would only use them for my auto repair and towing needs. I can’t thank them enough and being retired we travel this route frequently going to visit my daughter and will absolutely use them again for any automotive issue we have if we can.

We broke down in Hays at 97+ degrees, and they were the provider from our insurance company. I spoke to Dallas, who was very forthcoming insofar as the ETA of the driver, which was appreciated. James, the driver, was very accommodating, professional, and friendly... I can only attest to the tow service, but an easy 5 stars for these guys.

They took care of my daughters issue as she was just passing thru. They were quick, honest, and professional. Also they got her back on the road in a very timely manner

Dallas has had my back when it comes to my serious automotive issues that nobody else has been able to help with and service is handled quickly. Always have hood conversations with employees as well as other customers, just generally a happy place.

On the worst day possible our reliable 05 Durango died in the roundabout by Walmart. No warning just quit. My wife and I were on our way to move my daughter in Hoisington so they timing sucked. We had used Davis Automotive before so that's where we were towed to. I believe it was Brandon, horrible with names, said they could check it out before days end and that they did. Fuel pump! He made no promises but said they could have it done as early as the end of the next day and just by closing, they did. Highly recommend these guys and thanks for great service.

Very helpful, kind people, they offer a variety of services. Most popular would probably be oil changes. They have good prices for quality items. They have good quality services. My whole family uses Davis Automotive and Towing.

Allowed my ex to give them my debit card numbers and charge my card 133. For services I DID NOT authorize. I was in MO and my debit card on me so they fraudulently run charges without the person being there or authorizing them...BE VERY cautious when doing business with them . I had to call the police and Chase bank and got my money returned several days later.

Don't waste your time.My insurance contacted them for a tow.I called to get ETA & dispatch couldn't reach the driver. We tried for several hours, before we called a different company. They left is stranded at 3am in 19°weather with no heat source... ended up waiting 6 hours before we could get someone from the next town over to come because 3 times we were told they were on the way and even told "any minute" after twice being told the driver wasn't answering. We even asked that the driver call us to make sure they had the right location, but didn't receivea call. 1 senior veteran with lung issues, 1 adult with covid long haul, a 5mo old puppy and myself. I consider that negligence among other things. It was so cold, the inside of our truck was freezing. 1 star only because I can't post without it

5 stars! Passing through area driving across the country and leaking massive oil; he was recommended to me by a local for good and honest work. He worked me in the next day to his busy schedule, and said he had time to do a general, quick check between appointments. He assessed and said from his check it was most likely a valve gasket cover leak; which is a more minor fix than an engine issue. (Start small). He shared related experiences with my model and also a wide variety of pertinent car issues. He didn't charge me since I didn't get a full appointment spot, and gave me some recommendations for getting a little further without damaging my car since he couldn't get me in for a few days. Honest, knowledgeable and didn't take advantage of me as a visitor passing by that knows little about cars. Finding a trustworthy, reasonable mechanic is huge and while I didn't have work done here, getting the recommendation from a local that only found 2 places he trusted to do good work says a lot as well!

I was heading to drive to California and started to hear a noise on my car and headed to Davis Automotive. The man who helped me was so kind and fixed the problem and had us on our way in ten minutes. I highly recommend their services to anyone passing through with a car issue or anyone living in Hays, KS!

We were traveling through Kansas and hit some tire junk leftover from a semi. We pulled in and Casey immediately helped us out. He was quick, did a thorough check, and fixed the problem for a very reasonable price. And it all happened before our toddlers even got bored! Thank you!!

Trevel and Dallas were the BEST! They saved my life, car, and sanity. My car broke down at a gas station in Ellis on the way to CO. They got me towed and back on the road in 3 hours. I am beyond blessed to say the least. They were the kindest people and put me at ease during a high stress situation. They really go above and beyond and then some.

Last week my husband was driving thru Kansas on the way to a family gathering. His car decided to quit on him at a gas station in Hays. God bless Davis Garage. He was towed there, and it turned out to be a very minor issue. They could have charged him and arm and a leg. But they didn’t charge him a penny. They were incredibly nice and went the extra step to insure he got back on the road in minutes. You don’t find that type of service anymore. Honest and friendly!

They had my vehicle running perfectly and back to me in less than 24 hours. Dallas was very friendly and professional, and gave me tips to avoid having the same repair needed in the future (rodent chewed through wires under my hood). They quoted me a fair price, explained the charges, and that amount is exactly what I paid when I went to pick it up. I used to work in my dad's auto shop in Wichita in the summers in high school, and this shop treated me the exact way my dad treated all of his customers, with respect and fairness. Thanks for the great repair, Davis, you have a customer for life!

TOP NOTCH Shop!! Driving from Wichita to Colorado, our alternator went out and our car died on the side of the highway 20 miles east of town. They towed us in record time (James was great!!) and Dallas stayed late after the shop was closed to replace our alternator and get us back on the road! Extremely knowledgeable, honest and helpful! I can’t thank you enough! You saved our butts and allowed us to get home with minimal delay!

I am impressed by Davis Automotive & Towing. My car broke down in Hays a few months ago on my way to Colorado and they were kind to help me figure out possibilities with getting it fixed. Searched for various deals on new engines and helped me get the rest of my stuff out of the car. Great customer service, Dallas has been a great help. They have been a bright side to my unfortunate situation and I’d recommend them to anyone living in hays or driving by.

My transmission blew up on the way from Arkansas to Colorado Springs. Despite my insurance company telling the Tow driver I was over 700 miles from them he found me. Great job and very pleasant young man. Dallas diagnosed the problem and when it wasn't a fast fix he loaded me into his own truck along with all my gear and got me to a Uhaul he had arranged. Transmission replaced along with lines and several other things he found. All done in 5 days. Truck runs great highly recomend

My family and I were on our way to Montana and our water pump went out. I called the folks at Davis and found them to be exceptionally courteous and helpful. They said they could tow me and check out my vehicle. Their tow truck driver had us back to their shop (we were stranded on I-70 15 miles away) and our water pump replaced in less than 2 hours. As a business owner myself, I strive to model the courteous and prompt service of the staff at Davis Automotive myself. I highly recommend them to all!

Got a tow from their driver and he was so great. He was at our location within 15 minutes and got our truck on his roll-back very quickly. The advice he gave us to get our truck home was absolutely priceless. We and our truck wouldn't have gotten back to Colorado without you!

Traveling across Kansas our van started making a terrible front end noise. They got me right in, took care of the problem, and the cost was very low. We were back on the road quickly thanks to them. The customer service was excellent. I am so grateful we went to Davis Automotive. They saved our trip.

I went in to Davis Automotive because my truck would not start. I knew it was something with the ignition switch when turning the key. I was told they would come pick up the truck at my residence and if they couldn't start it to drive it, they would charge $25 to tow it. I was also told they would call me with an exact price before they fixed the issue. I was quoted in the shop about $200 before they ever picked up the truck. They came and picked up the truck a few hours later and were able to start it by running power from the battery to the solenoid and drove it to their shop. It took about a day and they called me back and told me the total was $255 and it was ready to pick up. What happened to calling me before it was fixed? What happened to the $200 estimate? I get there to pay for it and they charged me $20 for picking up the truck, $15 for use of the shop tools, about $60 for parts and over $150 for labor. I asked about the $20 for picking it up and I was told they always charge that, and I was lucky they didn't have to tow it or they would have charged $45. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with their service. If you want a quick expensive repair done, go here. Otherwise, go somewhere else. I will not be taking any more of my vehicles to Davis Automotive.

Thanks for the great service! My sister and I had our alternator go out on our road trip to Georgia. Robbie showed up to tow us. He was personable and prompt and went above and beyond to get us set up to continue our road trip. He not only drove the jeep to the mechanic shop I requested but also dropped us off at a hotel.
