It's pretty easy to navigate. I haven't really run into any issues other than the place being a little expensive

I want to express my sincere gratitude for the extraordinary kindness and support I received from one of your employees, JC, at the South Overland Park store by 69 Highway and 135th Street. Recently, I found myself in an unexpected and stressful situation. After doing some yard work, I accidentally left my cell phone on the driveway. I was able to drive my Tesla to Home Depot, but once there, I realized I couldn’t pay for my items—or even start my car to return home—without my phone. I couldn’t call an Uber, access my wallet, or do much of anything. I approached the Customer Service desk and was kindly allowed to use the store phone to call my wife. Unfortunately, she didn’t answer. That’s when JC stepped in with an incredible offer: he checked with his supervisor and then personally drove me home, about three miles away, so I could retrieve my phone. When I returned to the store with JC, I offered him compensation for gas, which he graciously declined. JC’s generosity, professionalism, and genuine care turned a frustrating moment into a reminder of how much good there is in the world. I’m truly thankful that your store employs such an outstanding and considerate young man. His actions reflect the very best of Home Depot’s values and customer service. Please extend my thanks to JC and his supervisor, and know that I’ll be sharing this story with friends and family!

August 31st at 3:30 pm. I went to the store to purchase a washer. First of all there was no sales associate in the area to ask questions. Secondly, after I picked one washer and proceeded to ask an employee who was sitting on a desk near by who seemed he was no in mood of helping . Absolutely he was not since he acted rude, unprofessional and indifferent . All he had to say is they don't have nothing in-stock, he did not even check the inventory to see if any available, and I had to place an order and wait for approximately two weeks for delivery. Well, It felt like it is not worth giving them my business so I went to Best buy where I got a better deal with next day delivery.

I'm completely done with home depot. I will never shop there again. What a dump!

If Home Depot gave out awards for laziness and rudeness, Jay at the S. Overland Park location would win in a landslide. I came in to pick up several large Halloween orders and was told Jay would help me load them. Instead, I stood waiting for nearly 30 minutes while he wandered in and out of the store taking vape breaks. When I finally approached him, he told me the person who could help was “out in the parking lot collecting carts” and that I should go find him myself. My items were massive boxes on pallets requiring a hand-operated forklift — something I clearly could not operate. I told him this, and he just stared at me. No offer of help, no solution — nothing. I found another associate outside in the heat, and thankfully, three very nice employees helped me load what fit into my SUV. They instructed me to go to customer service so my remaining box could be held for later pickup. Unfortunately, customer service was being run by none other than Jay. When I explained the situation, his “help” was to hand me a scrap of paper and say, “write whatever you want.” I reminded him I don’t work at Home Depot and asked what information was needed. He repeated “whatever you want” and then placed the paper loosely on the box — not taped, not tagged — just dropped on top. When I asked him to document the hold so there’d be no problem retrieving it later (since my receipt would show it as picked up), he flat-out refused. I asked for a manager, and thankfully, John intervened, promised the box would be locked in a secure area, and handled the matter professionally. When I returned to pick it up, guess who was there again? Jay. After helping two customers ahead of me, he looked directly at me, then turned and walked outside to text and vape while I stood waiting…again. It was clear that the manager had done and said nothing. Or if he did, it didn’t make any impact. I’m still standing here. Waiting for help despite being told 10 minutes ago someone would get John to help me load. If these items weren’t special order I would have walked out. Jay was not just unhelpful — he was dismissive, rude, and went out of his way to avoid doing his job. This was hands-down the most unprofessional customer service I’ve ever experienced, and if this is how Home Depot allows employees to treat paying customers, it’s no wonder people shop elsewhere.

Beth in the paint department, Nate in the lumber department, and a very kind Black woman in the hardware department whose name I did not get were all extremely lovely and able to assist with my questions! I had a sort of unpleasant experience with Kyle in the lumber department. He was impatient and passive aggressive with me as well as other customers. He also misguided me twice to the incorrect products because his math was wrong (told me I could not cut two 35" boards from one 96" board because you need at least 12" leftover – when there would actually be 26" leftover!!) There are also a lot of pre-purchased items randomly along the back wall that make it impossible to access the products there.

Teresa is absolutely fantastic! Every time I visit Home Depot, she greets me with a warm smile and a positive attitude that instantly brightens my day. She always knows exactly where everything is and goes out of her way to help customers find what they need quickly and efficiently. Her knowledge of the store and its products is impressive, and she makes every shopping trip a pleasant experience. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely helpful and friendly. Teresa is a true asset to Home Depot, and I appreciate her outstanding customer service every time I come in

Made a quick stop in to grab moving supplies and some specific hinges and make some returns. I was very grateful for an employee who was able to give me information about the hinges I needed. Home Depot doesn't carry them, but he knew exactly where to send me to find them. Saved me hours of trying to figure it out myself. Sailaja helped me with my returns. She was extremely quick, helpful and friendly. I was in and out within minutes. I appreciate it!

We recently made our first big purchase from the kitchen/appliance department at Home Depot, and we were incredibly fortunate to be helped by Madison Hahn. From the moment we walked in, Madison was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. He took the time to answer all of our questions without ever being pushy or trying to upsell us on things we didn’t need. Instead, he truly listened to what we were looking for and helped us find the right products that fit our needs and budget. Madison went above and beyond to make sure we felt confident in our purchase, and his honesty and professionalism really stood out. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely wants to help customers the way he does. He is without a doubt a valued employee, and thanks to him, our shopping experience at Home Depot was smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable. Thank you, Madison, for your outstanding service—you made a big decision feel so much easier and worthwhile!

We placed an online order for sheet rock and drywall installation tools. Upon arrival, I discovered that my order wasn’t ready. Fortunately, I met Lexie, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She printed off the order and accompanied me on a shopping trip, assisting me with various tasks, such as loading the drywall onto the cart and finding additional items I had purchased based on her suggestions. Lexie went above and beyond any service I’ve ever encountered at a Home Depot. If anyone knows anything about shopping at stores like this, they understand that waiting around for help is often a part of the experience. However, Lexie made me feel like I was the only customer in the building. Even while stopping along the way to help three different customers, she never lost her focus on me. Her extensive knowledge and expertise were evident. She even helped me with the lockbox on the way out to collect an item that had been shipped to the store. I am thoroughly impressed with Lexie’s exceptional service. She truly made a moment in my long day pleasant. Thank you for being such a refreshing and helpful employee.

Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I’ve ever encountered. The lumber guys were great, very helpful. The younger man in tools had the disposition of an angry bouncer. Met me with a scowl. Incredibly rude. At one point I asked if he was on break or on his way off shift. I’ll spend $200 plus elsewhere for a new circular saw. Harbor freight had better service even if the tool choices were lower quality.

Absolutely the best customer service I have received in a hardware store. Kudos to the employees for asking if I needed help, asking follow-up questions to ensure I bought the correct item, and walking me to the product. I had not one, but two employees who assisted me. One gentleman even climbed down the ladder to show me where the item was in the same row. I want to give credit where credit is due. A well organized, clean store with fantastic customer service!

The staff here have a casual attitude. You'd better find things by yourself. No one will help you. The goods are not sufficient. If you don't live nearby, there is no need to come here to shop.

From Frustration to Fantastic – Thanks to Austin at Home Depot at South Johnson County location off 135th! My experience at Home Depot started as one of the most frustrating shopping trips I’ve ever had— but ended as the best customer service experience I’ve encountered in anystore, period. After receiving my bed frame (minus the hardware, or so I thought—more on that later), I brought the manual to Home Depot to find all the necessary bolts, washers, and screws. The parts listed in the manual didn’t perfectly match Home Depot’s naming or sizing, making it nearly impossible to figure out on my own. I asked for help, but the first associate wasn’t from that department and said she’d find someone. After waiting 20 minutes with no help, I called the store in frustration. That’s when Austin arrived and completely turned things around. He helped me from start to finish—tracking down close to 100 small hardware pieces, including different-sized bolts and washers. Whenever he wasn’t sure about something, he consulted another associate to make sure I got exactly what I needed. His patience and dedication were incredible. At checkout, I was disappointed to be directed to self-checkout (after such an exhausting search), but Austin noticed me at the register and quickly stepped in to assist, making the process quick and easy. Thanks to him, what could have been a miserable experience became the gold standard for customer service. I’ve never had an associate go so far above and beyond. Plot twist: After all that effort, I did eventually find the original hardware at home—it had fallen under the couch! But I don’t regret the trip, because Austin’s help was that good. If every associate were like Austin, retail would be a whole different world. Thank you, Austin—you’re a ROCKSTAR!

They just started using the security carts where the wheels lock up if you try to use them. I will no longer be shopping at this location because the things never work as expected and only ruin the shopping experience. They are apparently having trouble with thievery because you can’t buy a small spool of copper wire without being escorted through the store to check out. They are taking the wrong steps and ruining customer experience

Worst staff that I have ever seen. They are very rude and rasict towards the customers. I was in the garden section and 3 of the staff members are talking to customer and I thought they were helping her finding something. I came over and heard the rude comments they passed over to the lady, one of the woman said she don’t have anything the woman is asking for and very rude about it too. I asked to find a shovel, she told me to go to the aisle 53 and she would come over in a minute to check on me. I felt seen and thought she might want to help. Later I got to know she just want to be rude and make people bad about themselves. The tone she is answering was intolerant. I am asking a question about the weed tool, she just said have a nice day and walked away. Isn’t there job to help customers? Am I asking too much? Are they trying to make Home Depot a horrible place? If this continues, there is gointo be a greater downfall for your store. The manager should be able to check how the staff is interacting with customers. The incident has happened just yesterday around 8 pm. I request the Mnagarr to go through the CC camera video and talk the lady. Home depot should have human values along with items in their store. All the customers, do yourself a favor and don’t ask anything to the staff.. they never wanted to help you.

Horrible. The employees are lazy and untrained, and they have no respect or consideration for customers’ time. Will never ever come here again. Why would you put someone in charge of the rentals who admittedly has no idea what they are doing, “has never done this before” “ can’t find the keys to the truck you reserved and the managers are in a meeting, don’t know what to do, sorry, hehe”. Like it’s so funny and cute to be so poorly trained, and frankly useless, at their job. It’s not funny or cute to be incompetent, and it’s not funny or cute to waste peoples’ time. And it wasn’t even a DEI hire. Do better Home Depot.

Rick at the grill aisle was absolutely fabulous and his manager needs to know that! It was my husbands birthday and I ordered a grill to be delivered assembled from Lowe's (paid extra for delivery). They delivered a damaged one the day of my husbands birthday. I refused to take it and was left with no present for my husband. I went to Home Depot and met Rick! a very nice and helpful person. I told him I need an assembled charcoal grill today and there weren't any options. So I walked away and Rick ran after me telling me that he found one on the top shelve. He took this special vehicle and took it down for me! Rick literally made it happen! We need more workers like him who go out and about to make customers happy! Thank you, Rick! my husband liked his birthday present!

Ordered storm doors, the charged me double but didn’t offer a refund and instead upgraded which didn’t even come close to the total I paid. They got the wrong door, wrong color, wrong handle, wrong directional facing door. LITERALLY THEY GOT NOTING RIGHT. Not a thing. Their door people are 90 and can’t use a computer. Absolutely useless and owned by insurance companies who force you to use thier contractors. This is what’s wrong with America. Bad band service. Should be out of business

Give Nate in the wood section a raise. Excellent customer service and he is precise with his measurements when cutting. I appreciate that coming from working on Submarine Nuclear/Subsafe Systems. I like the way he works.

I had a great experience with Steve an appliance specialist. He ordered a refrigerator, washer and dryer for the used house that I'm buying. Everything was exactly as we discussed. Prompt and courteous service.

Do NOT use Home Depot’s installation services if you want things done right. I recently spent over a grand for a new dishwasher and installation and it was installed improperly (see pics. Not flush with cabinetry whatsoever), installers left water on my hardwood in multiple locations as well as some debris and trash on my driveway. Very unprofessional and seemingly outsourced for cheap labor. Pay more for professional installation through a company specializing in that.

Please please please if you buy any appliances to have delivered to your home, have the rep note that you REQUEST someone that can physically lift appliances. On November 25, I came in to buy a fridge and a freezer. The sales person (F0T5DO1) asked if I wanted to install and haul away for 50$. I agreed! When the day came Justin said that they only have a work order for drop off and didn’t have a work order to install or haul away. At that time wasn’t a big deal I went to Home Depot had the same rep put in the work order. Today Dec 10th two men came out. A younger man measured doors after 15 minutes in, the young man informed me he was able to install our freezer in the garage, but “we can’t do it the fridge today because the older gentlemen in the truck is too old with back problems to lift the fridge and I can’t do it by myself” so he called his manager Carlos, he apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a phone number to call!! The rep on the phone was super nice. He agreed, why would they have someone come out if they physically can’t do it. I do my best to be understanding and be patient, but now I have to wait another 6 days!

I’ve been a regular at this Home Depot store for several years now. Historically, my experiences weren’t always positive—I often felt like an inconvenience to the staff whenever I needed assistance or had a question. It seemed as if my inquiries were more of a burden than a part of their job duties, which made shopping there quite frustrating. But about a month ago, I noticed a significant transformation during one of my visits. The atmosphere was different; it was as if the entire store had undergone a change in spirit. The employees were not only helpful but also knowledgeable and genuinely engaged. They seemed eager to help, a stark contrast to the previous demeanor I had grown accustomed to. Driven by curiosity, I asked a few questions and discovered that the store was under new management. This made perfect sense, and it was clear that this change was the catalyst for the improved service and store environment. Whoever was responsible for this managerial decision at Home Depot corporate deserves recognition. The impact of their choice is profound and praiseworthy. Furthermore, I want to extend a personal thank you to Jake and the other managers who have revitalized the store’s culture practically overnight. Their ability to align our local store with the broader reputation of the Home Depot brand has been unreal. I am so grateful that my local Home Depot now lives up the reputation of the national brand. Lfg fam.

Second favorite store if you can't find it at the Depot there's something wrong with you. You might have to rig something up but you'll get her done. No seriously great buys I'm a painter so I save on their Pro extra account and they have a great team.

Great assistance from item pickup for concrete garden bench from Dave in customer service. He helped us check over the item and helped with the loading of this, heavy, item - all with a very helpful, and pleasing, attitude. Thanks Dave!

When I approached 2 workers who were standing there talking about their weekend plans, they tried to get away as quickly as possible. When I chased one of them down, he told me the wrong place for the item I as looming for. It was completely on the other side of the store. When I finally found the item, the entire area was unreachable due to extra work benches that were in the way (picture below).

Found this flooring and using it on a rehab home. Very nice looking floor and the price is downright excellent. I've used this flooring on other projects, but purchased it at another home improvements store with a much higher price. I'm very glad I've located this product at a better price. Thank you Home Depot.
