Very poor service. My son's truck sat there for over 2 weeks after they towed it there. They keep putting us off on looking at it. We ended up picking it up on a trailer and their staff never came to see who was taking the truck. Customer Beware.

My 17-year-old son’s truck broke down on I-70 on December 26th and was towed here through our insurance. I was told they would look at it the middle of the next week, which I understood due to the holiday. The following week, we were told the truck had not been looked at due to other incidents, and communication was extremely poor. Calls went unanswered or the line was busy, and multiple texts requesting updates were never returned.
I also rented a U-Haul car hauler through them and was never notified that the order had been canceled.
When we picked up the truck ourselves, no one verified who we were or confirmed ownership—staff walked past us without saying a word. Anyone could have taken the vehicle, which is concerning.
Overall, the lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism was unacceptable. I would not recommend this service.
Motorhome broke down while towing my crv. Wound up with both vehicles needing to be towed as lost a CV axle on the drive down in crv. That bill was WAY less than I expected it to be. This was a Saturday. The owner searched for me a radiator for my motorhome in his inventory but came up empty then spent hours on the phone locating one for me. They let me stay in their lot without charging a dime more than the tow fee for any of it until Monday when I was allowed to borrow a company pickup to run to the town over and get parts. Very amazing experience. Awesome people. Caring and giving family owned business and it shows in everything they do. Thank you again George and Edi!!!
This place was literally a godsend after having our engine seize up near the end of our trip from Florida to Colorado. They were all so kind and helpful! They came and towed us very quickly while also helping me, my husband, our 3 kids and our lizard get safely to a hotel. They helped us with our broken car, our U-haul trailer and helped us get a ride all the way to the U-haul in Lyons, that had the truck we needed. I honestly don't know what we would have done without them. My family and I are eternally grateful! ❤️
I was stranded on the side of the road and they showed up and rescued me giving me a lot of comfort! Very sweet husband and wife team and I would recommend them to anyone!
These guys are awesome! This was a husband and wife team with a beautiful, friendly German Shepherd girl, and the experience that we had renting a car carrier from them was incredible! They went WAY out of their way to help and accommodate us and to save us money. My wife and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Through my life, I've used equipment and trucks through various companies all across the U.S., and this was most probably the best experience that I've had! Thank you guys so much for your help! I scheduled an appointment to have my vehicle fixed last week. Today (Monday) it was due to be fixed. They open at 8am however they didn't show up until close to 8:30. When they arrived, I was told they could not fix my car today. They didn't even know if my part had come in yet. I had pre-paid for this service. I ended up having to use a different shop to get it done. They said they could not give me a cash refund. So they would put it back on my card. I specifically asked if the refund would be immediate or if it would take a few days. I was assured it would be instant. It was NOT. I called to inquire and was rudely told to talk with my bank. Not returning ever.
Horrible place to do business. They picked up my car a week ago cause I hit a raccoon. Since then no one will answer phone or return my calls. I do not recommend this place if you need things to go quickly and efficiently.
I was travelling down I-70 and developed a problem with my rear wheel. I called these guys and they said they could get me in, but it wouldn't be until late in the day. I arranged a tow truck and called them back to confirm. When we showed up at the shop, 3 frustrating hours later at about 2pm, they told the tow truck driver not to unload because they couldn't help me. Fortunately, my driver knew of another, smaller shop who had me on the road within the hour. No thanks to the Ellsworth Service Clown-show, however.
Had a wheel getting hot on our fifth wheel and figured we better have it looked at before traveling on. George was great, got it in shop within an hour, pulled it all apart. The pad on the drum brake had fallen off and was just laying in there rubbing the drum. Needed an odd part to get it back together, they let us drop trailer in there shop and go get part. Back together and on road same day, actually only 3 hours or so. Charge was VERY reasonable. Great people great work.
We broke down driving from Colorado back to Illinois, the closest place was this company who came out and towed to their shop. They said we needed a new fuel pump and after two weeks told us it was done. Paid $899.00 to pick it up, only to get 30 miles away and the exact same thing happened again. We then had a company in Salina pick it up who found that it actually wasn't the fuel pump itself, but the wiring that was touching an exhaust pipe. It costed $275 for the tow there and for them to fix the actual problem. On top of that about $300 in gas was wasted driving there and back for no reason since the new place wasn't going to be able to look at it until Monday and we had to be back before then. Both my husband and the new mechanic contacted them to explain that the problem was wiring, and they refused to refund any money to us. It would have been cheaper calling a tow company from an hour andd a half away from the beginning.
Ellsworth helped us get our SUV, U-Haul, and 3 people to 120 miles to the closest dealership when we broke down on the side of I-70. Very friendly and helpful. Helped us when others wouldn't because of the U-Haul and transporting. Thank you again!
We hit some big debris on Interstate 70 on our way to Denver and blew 2 tires. Tony was our tow driver and he was the best! He was professional, kind, patient, and helpful. We had our puppy with us and were five hours from home so we were stressed and anxious as we were stranded on the side of the road. Tony was dispatched and he arrived to pick us up quickly. Upon arrival he went right to work and was friendly to us. After calling numerous tire shops we were getting frustrated as we were unable to find the tires needed to fix our car. Tony made a recommendation and took us to the service provider who didn’t have the tires but was able to order what we needed. I honestly can’t say enough about Tony, he literally saved the day and was a genuine, kind, and professional guy. We are so thankful for Tony’s service and assistance!
These good people went above and beyond what any other business would do. We appreciate their kindness and fantastic service. Setting great examples of real Kansans in a harsh world today. ?
George is an absolute stand up guy. Had a pretty severe issue with my semi, and he did his best to get me taken care of. Wound up being more involved than anticipated, so he recommended several options on where to get it fixed. If ever in need of anything in the area again, he'll be the first I call.
Charged us $5 per mile on top of the $125 towing charge. Ended up being $335 dollars just to get towed to a nearby town. It felt like they took advantage of our situation.
On a cross country road trip, my front left wheel bearing ate itself doing damage to the brake rotor and half shaft. George has more than happy to drive more than 20 miles to rescue us. Repairs took longer than normal because of our location and damage, but George worked hard to get us back on the road.
Ellsworth service center retrieved my family and I out of a real life issue sliding off a road being stuck in a field more then 100 feet from the road during a heavy snow storm . They arrived quick and pulled us out even quicker. These two men are golden in my book. Thanks ESC .
