Recently bought a vehicle from here. We have had bad experience in the past with people selling us something and something going wrong and they do nothing.. I have to say, I will be coming back here to Courtney's for any future car purchases we need, I will refer friends and family. Leon was very honest about all his cars on the lot, and has been so helpful even after us buying our car from him. 100% recommend! Honesty and trust goes a long way now adays when it's so rare! I sold them my car in November. I received the annual registration statement in January. Apparently since I didn’t return the plates to the state this is why I am responsible for paying annual registration fees for a car that I was told had a frozen engine. Rather than offer to take care of the matter I instead am required to go to the Treasurer’s office and sign an affidavit I sold the car and signed the title. Thank goodness I took a picture of the signed title. Obviously they chose not to transfer ownership to save $50. Now I have to take time off work since the buyer didn’t register the vehicle in their name. Very sketchy.

My husband has taken his scrap metals to courtneys for years. Always been treated fair and they all know him by name. I even ride along sometimes just to say hello. Nice bunch.
Hauled in a trailer and truck load of scrap metal. Prices are down. So only made $84.00. Also sold junk cars there last week. Got $250.00 for complete vehicle. If missing parts it's $40.00 a ton. A good place to take your scrap metal.
They're always busy, but they're always friendly. If you can't unload, they'll unload it for you. Everytime I've checked, they're paying a higher rate than those other guys on the west end. Good company, that's good to Ottumwa.
