Great option for architectural salvage. Doors, windows, hardware, and other 1860s-1940s goods. Lots of salvaged flooring.

Had to bring my truck back to pick up a door I had purchased a few weeks earlier, but the employee almost refused to give me the door. She made me turn off my truck and continued to make derogatory comments about my truck. Here I am trying to reduce the waste in this world and re-purpose items that would otherwise end up in the landfill. And I usually drive a 37mpg car. I don't think I'll go back.

I've frequented many a salvage store and this is one of the priciest ones. I love their mission but not making it affordable for those of us trying to lovingly restore old homes. You'll have better luck on FB Marketplace.

I have visited many times over the years, and they always remember our discussions and projects. A real Iowa City treasure with great finds.

Super cool place!! The worker was very knowledgeable and quite friendly and welcoming, even though we stopped in close to their closing time. Only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars is because it seemed like some of the prices on very worn out products were a bit higher than expected.

I love this place and their mission. Very friendly staff who actually want to be there. You can get lots of neat old stuff here including solid wood doors with vintage hardware (locks, knobs, hinges, etc...) windows, old tools. They also have a program where for an annual fee of 30$ you can borrow tools from them for your projects. Would thoroughly recommend checking this place out.

Great place to find old house parts. Very well organized and nice workers. If you have a old house make sure and stop in. A great resource

Treasure trove but not expensive. I found a door and hardware for a Victorian house

Always friendly people to help. I just wish you would hold a women's only class on how to. That would earn you the fifth star :)

Very clean and well-organized. With a reasonably good selection. the only downsize was it is fairly small, and fairly restrictive hours.

You never know what you will find. Some of the coolest additions or our house we bought here and at thrift store prices!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff who posses a passion for historic restoration. They have am extensive stock of trim, doors, windows, railings, spindles, and hardware. I highly recommend them, they were a real resource for us in repairing damage to our 100 plus year old house.

Salvage Barn had just what I needed at very competitive prices. Everything is well organized and Heidi was very helpful. If you are looking for vintage doors, windows and building materials this is the place to go. I look forward to returning when I have more time to browse.
