Everything was excellent. Same day work. Fair prices. Jonathon, at the desk, and over the phone was the most perfect example of top notch customer service.

I have had both our cars serviced here. Jonathan is knowledgeable and polite in explaining what is wrong with the vehicle and what needs to be done. They do their job well, on budget, and on time. Most recently I got work done on a battery that was acting finicky. It was good to see that they did not attempt to push unnecessary repairs and did the work needed to get the car going. On the flip side, they are not open on the weekends, which is a bit of an inconvenience, but tolerable.

Jonathon will take care of your vehicle. I cannot say enough about the quality of diagnosis, repair, and customer service I received. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Jonathan is great and helped my car go through some routine maintenance checks! Very knowledgeable, understanding, and trustworthy. I even had to arrive later than my appointed time due to unexpected tire problems, but Gilliland Motors still serviced my car and accepted it without batting an eye. Definitely recommend!

Gilliland replaced two brake drums of our Accord four months ago. The service was fast and great, and price was reasonable.

I needed my alternator replaced. I have the no-how to replace an alternator myself, but this one was in a tight spot and I didn't have the correct tools to reach one or two of the mounting bolts. Jonathan worked with me to get the Denso brand I wanted, and the price I was charged was the same I could get it for from Amazon. They were done in 1/2 day, and I was pleased to see that they took the longer route to remove the alternator, rather than the shortcut a previous mechanic had used (squeezing the radiator aside).

What a phenomenal business! Walt & the rest of the team have been so professional and kind in all of the auto repairs we have needed. They are honest with you about how long the repairs will take. They never pressure you to fix things that do not need to be fixed. I always feel like they communicate very well with me and keep me informed about what is going on with my vehicle. Highly recommend!

Walt and the team here have been great to work with over the years. I have several older vehicles, and I’m talking 10 to 20 to 50 year-old vehicles, and they’ve done a great job of fitting me in. They provide an honest and reasonable estimate, do great work, and get me back on the road quickly and confidently. I’ve been coming here so long with so many of my vehicles that he knows me now by phone number, voice and vehicle when I pull up.

I highly recommend anyone who needs work done on their vehicles to bring their vehicle to o Gillilands! They go above and beyond to get your vehicle back into good condition. They treat you like family! They are honest and trustworthy!!!

Couldn’t recommend Gilliland enough! I brought my car to Gilliland after taking my car to the dealership (as I usually do) and being told the repair would be $900 and what I needed/wanted done in the way I wanted was “impossible”. I was fairly certain it was not impossible, so, I decided to get a second opinion. I stopped in one evening to Gilliland and explained to them my situation. Walt said to drop my car off the following Monday morning and they would see what they could do. Sure enough, they could do exactly what I wanted and for less than $130 and in only a few hours. Very, very pleased with the work and service Gilliland provided. I will be back!

Not only were they able to fit me in on short notice but they fixed my car in hours and were very reasonably priced. I went on a long road trip immediately afterwards and no issues. My car is running perfectly.

Awesome owner and great service to my elderly vehicle. Very honest estimate and repairs were true to the quote, even tho a couple extra were needed. They are helping me keep her safely on the road!

This place is awesome and I highly recommend it. My brakes went out and I was told by another place, I would not get in until 8/13 and in a rude way. Gilliland was very nice and I did not have to wait. Very knowledgeable, and they took the time to explain what they did. They definitely have a new customer.

I called concerning my muffler on a Tuesday and they had my car fixed and ready to go by Wednesday morning. The staff, especially Walt, was super friendly and fast. I will definitely be back if I have any other car troubles and will recommend this place to others! Thank you!

My sister and I were traveling through Lafayette, Indiana, to our hometown in Michigan, when her car began overheating. We called AAA for a tow and while waiting for the tow truck, we called some repair shops so we could choose a repair shop, rather than simply relying on the tow driver. Gilliland Motors, Walt, was the first to say he would be able to look at the car that day. He performed a pressure test and said that there was a leak, the radiator should be replaced and it would be $420, for everything, but he could not be sure replacing the radiator would solve the overheating. We called several other shops, and found 2 that said $300. We then told Walt that we would be taking the car somewhere else, he was visibly upset. He charge 27.00 for the pressure test and when we stopped at the closest gas station, my sister checked under the hood, Walt did not bother to put the radiator cap on. It was sitting under the hood, by the grill.

Had an appointment at 8 AM to replace muffler on my van . At 8:30 I was driving home. Great job , fast and very friendly. If that wasn't enough , I paid $25.00 less than quoted. By far the best place to go to get a vehicle worked on.

A longtime friend recommended Gilliland to me 5+ years ago & I've been taking my car to them ever since. I have zero complaints. They are professional, friendly, flexible and most importantly, HONEST! On the few occasions that I've had to leave my car with them during the day, they've even given me a ride to work. I cannot recommend Gilliland enough.

GREAT COMPANY AND UNMATCHED CUSTOMER SERVICE! Was having difficulties installing a trailer hitch prior to a military move to Washington State. Walt was quick to give us a time to come in and even gave us referrals if we needed the work done sooner. Was very friendly, down to Earth, and customer focused. Wouldn’t second guess using his shop for any future needs.

The service in this place is outstanding. I am from out of town and had a small issue with black ice 😑 No one else in Lafayette was even wanted to take a look at our car until four days or so later. Walt in the other hand, was super nice and helped us right away. He was not only understanding of our situation, he also did a great job. I recommend this place, ask for Walt he will make sure that you are happy with the service and safe driving your car.

I've been coming here with various cars for about 8 years now and never had a bad experience. They were unable to fix a recent issue with my car but did everything they could to make it right. I ended up having to go to the dealership for this specific issue but I'll definitely be back to Gilliland next time. Good, trustworthy people who know their stuff.

My daughter's car didn't start on Purdue's campus late one night. She called Gilliland and they recommended a tow company. Gilliland evaluated her car and had it repaired the next day. Since that was on Friday, they assured me that they would be able to get her the car on Saturday if she couldn't make it to the shop by close on Friday. I also thought the cost was reasonable and the people I talked to on the phone were very professional and friendly.

I stopped in because I needed to change my license plate, and I didn't have the correct tool to unscrew the bolts. Another shop I called told me that it would cost $10 for this service, and although I am certainly willing to pay for their time and labor, I thought that price was a bit high. Gilliland Motors told me that they would just change the license plate for free! It only took a minute, and I was willing to pay at least some money for the man's time, but he said not to worry -- it was no big deal. What a nice man! It's not often that I find an auto repair shop willing to do something for free. I will definitely go back if I ever need any work done on my car and would recommend that others try this shop out as well. They are obviously not trying to overcharge for services.

My car got towed here in what ended up a happy accident. I spoke with Walt and he did everything could to get me going and was very pleasant to interact with so I would recommend anyone trying them out. I know I will for my future needs, though they were ultimately unable to help with what I needed currently (tires).

I seen a lot of negative reviews on here so I thought I'd leave a comment. To be honest, I didn't look at the reviews until after I had them service my truck. I went there and asked the gentleman behind the counter if he could swap out my factory muffler for an aftermarket (magnaflow) exhaust. Once we discussed price I told him to proceed. I picked the truck up just a few hours later, and couldn't be happier. The welds looked great. Muffler was secured down well, and it sounds awesome now. I was treated with respect through the entire transaction. I received quality service in a timely manner.

I was frustrated with another car repair place in regards to my brakes grinding and a bad attitude from the mechanic there. When I called Gilliland Motors, they offered to let me drop it off a bit earlier than they typically open and drive me to campus so I would be to school on time. They gave me a reference for themselves, someone who worked in administration in my building as well. They quoted me a much lower price than the previous place quoted, and they did not want to know what this other mechanic had said or quoted me for. The previous mechanic told me my entire brake system needed replaced, here they said the front did need quite a bit of work, but not even as much as the first place quoted. And knowing I was a student the mechanic here said he did some shopping around for parts that would be appropriate and safe for my car and and fit better in my limited budget. Everyone was very friendly and professional.
