Tow driver was nice enough to give a warning and didn't tow when I was apparently parked in a spot where I shouldn't in a lot for 7 different buildings. but all the apartment buildings look the same how am I supposed to know they all have different owners when I'm just visiting and can't park on the street during to piled up snow, but they apparently don't check to make sure whoever is calling is an actual tenant or the owner of the building instead they take the word of a creep who lives in a different building owned by someone else not the one I was parked at, who is in everyone's business and literally has cases for invasion of privacy and harassment. If I had been towed it would have been illegal since it wasn't an actual tenant or the owner of the building who called.
My car broke down in Valpo on Sunday morning July 6th at 9AM, a holiday weekend. Rich was great, showed up in 20 minutes, towed my car to the repair shop I was using and then dropped me & my dog off at home. Good guy, fast service and overall great experience. I would highly recommend Rich & L&G Towing.
Rich was extremely respectful and responsive when I called to request towing on my breakdown on SR 2. I had called two other towing companies before them and was denied due to the early evening hours, but Rich was on it. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience in a horrible situation.
My daughter had a flat tire in the Valparaiso area and we needed a wrecker. I had no idea who to use…We live 2 hours away from there. I found Rich with L&G Towing out of sheer blind luck. He was extremely friendly, got to my daughter quickly and towed her to Heinold Tire in Valpo. They also were amazing to work with. USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Had a horrible experience with the tow truck driver, I would never suggest anyone use this company.
Couldn't give me a price or any type of estimated time of arrival. When he finally arrived he told me to drive my car instead of him towing me (my car was not drivable) once I said I'll just use another company he threatened to call the cops. The driver I encountered was very unprofessional, I would rather be stranded than to deal with the headache the driver comes with. If I could rate this company negative stars I would.
SIDENOTE, precision towing from portage got the job done very efficiently for a great price, with no headaches might I add.
My battery died, requested roadside assistance, had Alex come do a thorough inspection, he cleaned around my battery, explained what he was doing, started my battery and stayed a few more minutes to make sure my car was good after. Only 20 minutes before this another roadside service had told me I needed a completely new battery! I’m very glad I did not buy that battery at that time and was fortunate enough to get Alex who took his time to do the work properly and save me money buying a whole new battery I did not need. Very grateful for the excellent service!
Had our car towed(not mad) but when we where told we could sell our beater car to Rich he mentioned he could probably get 400 for it in scrap. We are not loaded with money no ones fault but the economy but when we had sadly decided to sell my late grandfather's car because we couldn't really afford to get the car back and could use the money we got from selling it for to save for another beater car Rich informed us we could clean out our car and put 20.00 on the dash to call it even! So to say not only would he keep our car to sell for scrap but he wanted an additional 20.00 to do such a service for us. So when we went to pay the total 420.00 owed 280.00 for towing 3 miles away and 60 a day storage fees only to discover the tools we kept in the car for repair are stolen all the way to our jumper cables which meant we had to then go buy jumper cables to reclaim our van because of a theft that occurred after the van left our last known location. Now not only are we in a bad place financially due to having to spend all we had to get our car back now we have to spend more then that to get tools and likely out hundreds of dollars dping so. Note the tools where for that van it had issues so we kept tools in it so if it where to break down on the side of the road we could handle it unless it was an extrem issue. Very unhappy filing the appropriate reports to the appropriate offices.
I wish I could give negative stars. You towed my daughter’s car out of our apartment complex parking lot based off of a call from a resident- not even the office- that the car had been sitting for awhile.
It’s been parked since Monday, it’s Wednesday, which is besides the point as SHE HAS A VALID STICKER to park in the lot!! The incompetence of the driver in this situation is insane, how do you take a call from a resident to tow a car in a lot with no assigned spaces and not even bother checking to see if it has a sticker?
They were very friendly and professional in dealing with my needs. I just been through a great loss and it was refreshing to deal with real people who seemed to genuinely take pride in their work and have care for their clients.
I've been parked my vehicle at my apartment and i didn't had a sticker as I bought the car just before two days and I had the sticker for my previous car, it was just half an hour i parked the car in the parking lot and all of a sudden these towing guys came as and towed my car, i called them and they didn't even took the car to their towing place till i called and the driver asked me to meet him at some gas station, i met him there and it was just 15 minutes and he asked me to pay $280 for towing and $60 for storage but they didn't even took the car to their storage but still he charges for storage and the guy was too rude and shouting at us when we met him at gas station, the worst towing service I have ever seen.
Paid 300 dollars to get my fiancés car back that was towed from right in front of her apartment. He sees her car everyday with the parking sticker in the window for the last 2 years. The sticker fell off one night woke up car was gone on New Years Eve. How convenient the apartment complex office is closed on the day he tows a car he knew that belongs there. Then to add to it I had to meet him at a gas station to pay cash for her car back. Which I never heard of before seems fishy. And did I mention I(not the owner of the car) was able to pick the car up and drive off. And sign for it. No proof of purchase or ownership of the vehicle. I repeat seems fishy n against the law. If anybody has any encounters with this guy, please report it. What he is doing is illegal
I parked in an incorrect spot so my vehicle was towed at my own fault. When I went to pick my vehicle up from L and G towing it was a pleasant experience they were very respectful and kind. I would reckoned them for your towing needs.
towed my car in a spot with no marking that i could not park there. told me to meet him in a specific parking lot across town with $460 in cash at 10:40pm. he said i need to be there by 11 otherwise i cannot get my car. had to get the police involved and he admitted that he shouldn't have towed my car and cop made him let me take it for free. scammer and liar.
Super sketchy business. Operated out of a house/ driveway. Rude, unprofessional. Occasional meets clients at gas stations? Extort customers and charge $350 dollars. Rates in downtown Chicago have gone for $200. Would not recommend.
After finishing my work shift and trying to get home mid-winter storm, I ended up stuck in a snow drift. Called another place and it would have been at least a 2 hour wait, but then reached out to L&G and was rewarded with a fast response time. It was no easy feat getting my car unstuck but Rich got the job done and got me safely home. He was kind, professional, and reasonably priced. I would call again in a heartbeat in similar circumstances.
My son’s car broke down and I arranged pick-up and delivery to the shop. He was timely and pleasant. Didn’t have to chase behind him to the shop he took care of the whole thing for me.

NEVER USE THIS MAN (Richard) AND HIS COMPANY. The utmost disrespectful HUMAN on this planet. No matter the desperation of needing a tow, NEVER go with this company. Worst scammer ever!
I parked my car outside of uptown cafe because I had lunch there, then I went to my friends apartment attached to the same building. The sign said you needed to be authorized to park there, not sure how much more authorized I could be- I Was inside the building the whole day. He couldn’t give me a definitive answer on why I couldn’t park there. They charged me 360 dollars CASH (no debit allowed?) AND I had to meet him at a random gas station. He was very unprofessional and asked me if I didn’t know how to read. I understand he’s just doing his job- but I would think for almost 400 dollars you would be clear, respectful and professional..
My sister parked at my apartment complex at 7:50 we found out it was towed around 11:00 when I called here he said he towed it between 9:00 and 10:00 couldn't even give me a specific time he smelled like booze he told us to pick it up before a certain time or else he would charge us an extra $60 we put the company in our GPS and the whole place was closed down ended up calling him and had to meet him at a random gas station
I was parked at my friends apartment for a little over an hour. They just moved in less than 3 weeks ago. I parked where the office had said it was okay to park. My friends wife left for a few minutes and came just back as Rich had barely starting putting my car up. She she told him it was my car and that I was on my way down because she called me immediately. He said I dont see anybody. They live on 4th floor. I literally ran down as soon as she called. He continued to put it up. He ended charging me $100 just to get it off the truck. How is that not theft? I would've come out to what looked like my car was stolen had my friend not called me. No signs that read anything about not being able to park there. I'd give 0 stars if possible. Very unprofessional.
I needed help getting my 26,000lb bucket truck pulled out of the mud and up an incline. I thought for sure that I'd be waiting hours like I have with other towing companies, but he showed up within 30min and got my truck out. When it came time to pay, I was prepared for the worst but his price was unbeatable! Very nice guy running an excellent business! Will absolutely use him from now on.
Rich, the owner of the company, was absolutely fantastic. Everything from his response time to his professionalism was everything we could have asked for after getting stranded. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and so kind. We would highly recommend him to anyone and would use his services again in a heartbeat! Seriously awesome!!!
Incredible company. Super polite and reasonably priced. Needed them to take my truck to the mechanic because the brakes were out, along with some minor things such as the window not being able to roll up. They picked up my truck to take it to the mechanic, once there he called me back just to make sure the window wasn't suppose to roll up. They take the extra time to ensure great customer service. Couldn't recommend this company enough!
