Used the new owner, Michael and his guys to swap and engine for me in one of my bigger trucks as we didnt have the room to handle it at the time. Reasonably priced, fast, honest guys and took care of a few other issues they found when engine was out. We recommend them to anyone in the Bedford or Lawrence county areas.
Same day service. I wasn't expecting them to get to my car that quickly. Fair price and very friendly. I will definitely be recommending them to anyone that is looking for a mechanic.
Was there last week told my husband he knew what the problem was so he supposedly fixed it and took 169.00. Next week same problem he said he would fix it again for 450.00. Why would we be stupid enough to bring truck back to a cheater. When Rick owned the place it was a great place to take your vehicle. Now, since Rick is gone all this guy is a lier who takes people's hard earned money. Never again

Awful and Uncooperative, charged us an extremely high storage fee without notifying us, and they only take cash and refuse to take a payment plan. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

My wife and 3 kids visited my grandma from out of town and when we go to leave, the car wouldn't start. Of course we were in a jam. Everyone was at least a week out to get our car in, including Ricks, but he squeezed us in and fixed the issue in a couple days. It was a very subtle problem that the diagnostics couldn't pick up. But they found it and we were on our way. Thanks so much guys!
Good place to go to! Had my spring shackles replaced along with a rotor. Called me within a few hours of dropping my truck off and they asked me if I wanted them to fix it before doing anything. It was finished the next day and only costed $240 all around! Cheap for quality service! Highly recommend!
This place saved my Christmas! I brought the car on Monday and they had me back on the road By Wednesday. I was so thankful they fixed. Prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend the services at Ricks Automative!
I called on a Thursday, they were closed on Friday due to 4th of july. I needed an AC line replaced and recharged, and I had to have it done by Wednesday since I was going out of state with the vehicle, Rick said bring it in Monday, so I did, promptly there at 8:30am to give him as much time as possible. Come Wednesday afternoon I call him, he said line was replaced but he couldn't recharge it. That will be $360. I said $360 is an aweful lot for a hard line and no recharge, his response was I only charged you 2 hours of labor, he didn't give a detailed break down of charges, just a receipt, but quick math lets say $160 for the hard line subtracted from 360 is 200, so he basically said he charges a $100 an hour, dealers don't even charge that! STAY AWAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS RIP OFF.
Disappointed in my service, I talked to him on a Wednesday made appointment for him to fix my gas line for Friday. I told him at that time if it was over 200.00 to call me. Took my car in on Friday, which he told me would be done by 3. He never called me, finally on Saturday I called him and left a message. Never heard from him. Finally got ahold of him on Monday, he said they were still waiting on the part. Still after all this time he NEVER called me or returned any on my messages . Finally got my car back, he charged my 560.00, WOW. Now remember he was suppose to call if it was over 200.00. After I paid I ask for a receipt , he said all he gives it the one they run on my debit card. Very dissatisfied , would not recommend this place.
I've known Rick for at least 24 years and you WILL NOT find a cleaner, more professional mechanic on Lawrence County. I just had a vehicle there for service and was completely in shock at how inexpensive the repair cost compared to what I knew a dealership would charge and what I expected . Rick runs a tight ship,so you can rest assured that your repairs will be done correctly the first time and at a price point that is fair. He also is very busy,so I recommend calling ahead for an appointment, but he turns most repairs around quickly. You won't be disappointed by having Rick and his staff service or repair your car.
