Bought a van from here and when looking at it asked to know the story about it which the receptionist proceeded to say how the van only had 1 OWNER and how great the van was. After that she proceeded to say the only thing wrong was the alternator WHICH ENDED UP BEING A TOTAL LIE

We just purchased a 2011 VW Routan from this place on Wednesday 4/8/26 after being told on 4/3/26 by the lady in the office that the owners would be back on Tuesday 4/7/26 and a transmission flush would need to be done before we could purchase it - my father in law was in this office with me and heard this conversation as well. It was originally priced for $3,500 but knocked down to $2,800 because of a “special” they had going on. It ran great, the mechanic was raving about it and how important it was to have a high name for their company and how important selling amazing vehicles was to them too. I asked what was needed currently - they said a transmission flush and there was a check engine light on for o2 sensors. We come back Wednesday to purchase and were able to leave with the vehicle. Assuming that flush had been done.
We live in Michigan, so we drove home, and have driven around in the vehicle for a few days. Now we came back to Indiana on 4/11/26 for a birthday party and the van starts whirring when accelerating and stalls out consistently 3/4 into our trip. I call up Howard’s Salvaging inquiring about the trans flush having been done - it shouldn’t be making this noise. She said “it’s the battery not the transmission” when it most certainly was never done. We were absolutely scammed in this vehicle. Do NOT buy from them.
A great place to get parts from the staff is very helpful and friendly!! So if you need parts I would recommend you to go see Amy and office staff for all car and truck parts!!!!
Best service!!! Love all the people that work there. If you don't know the name of a part, I guarantee they do. 2 parts I couldn't find anywhere, Amy found for me in seconds! I will continue to go to Howard Salvaging for all my parts.
On Tuesday Febuary 17th I called Howard's salvage about a transmission for my Chevy colorado. I talked to Monica and was told they had one available, I asked if they needed a deposit to hold till I could pick up on Saturday. I was told no deposit needed. We drove 1 and a half hours on Saturday morning and when we got there they let us sit for a half hour and then they came and told us they couldn't find it and made excuses that the full timers must have moved it. They offered to order one but the price might be different. NO THANK YOU. They already wasted 3 and half hours of my day plus gas. I would not recommend them, very unprofessional and poor customer service. I would given them 0 stars but it would not allow it.
Overall not a bad place but disorganized don't keep to the word always having to put you on hold and ask questions from somebody else I guess if you're in a pinch you could use them but I would use somebody else
Great service. I called and within 2 hours the owner Bryan was there. GREAT guy. Would absolutely pick this team 1st before anyone else. They will have my business again.

They don't give a guarantee for parts. They give wrong parts from different cars that don't fit your car. And even if it's their fault, they don't return the money.
I would give a negative 0 if I could. I have never been screwed over like I have been by these people at Howarrds in Bristol Indiana I bought a truck that was only supposed to have a small rust spot problem but turns out that was just the smallest of all the problems it has a huge gas leak,the whole underneath is falling apart tires are all different sizes it has a weird oil leak tailgate I was told could be put back on but no it can't it's not at all like they made me believe they knew I was needing a vehicle desperately and took advantage of my desperate state and chose to sell me a junk truck I've had it for a little over a month and have only gotten to drive it for no more than a week cuz it's been broke down the whole entire time I have had it I wouldn't recommend this lieing,trifling, unprofessional place to anyone they should be ashamed of taking advantage of somebody that truly needed them to be honest and upfront instead they were underhanded and untrustworthy and now I'm still stuck with no running vehicle I will NEVER EVER trust these people again one of the worst experiences I've ever had
Scrapped a trailblazer here. Got the most money out of any other salvage yard. Also, any time we need parts, they are very friendly and willing to help. Prices are fair. Thanks!
I get the friendly staff but I purchase a power rack and pinion it turns out that it’s not working at all before I made the purchase I asked them if it was tested she said it was in on running vehicle it turns out it doesn’t work at all I just call them and her response was that it’s over 30 days nothing they can do about it I get that too but where is the trust all customers put in that businesses that’s not right as a business doing that . Hopefully no one get the issue I got. 500 dollars going to the garbage .

I had the mechanic replace like 2 days later drove for 5 min parked because I have a dealership I sold two days ago and yesterday I received the truck back with the rack and pinion problem it’s not like it was just replaced last week it’s been sitting there it I tough that everything was fine but once the customer drove off and later that night call me about the problem. Anyways I do take the 30 days seriously I own a business. I take care my customers.
Since you don’t take care your customers you should think twice when anyone ask your team sales what are they’re going to respond to a customer.
