Terrible experience trying to get roadside assistance with Cooper's through my insurance company. My car broke down late at night and I was waiting for them for nearly 2 hours. I was given an initial ETA and then never updated at all once that time had passed. I tried contacting them (so did my insurance company) and neither of us were able to get a human being on the phone. Avoid at all costs!!

Company picks and chooses roadside assistance calls. Told me the address was unserviceable but offered to let me pay “cash” in an emergency situation. It was an emergency I had my 5 week old in the car.

Coopers was dispatched to me by my insurance and answered all of my questions. It was a pleasant experience so I thought but I just got an update from the mechanics that they cracked and dented my oil pan while they were towing my vehicle. This has delayed my car even longer. Dont bother using them

Our insurance uses this tow service. My husband waited 2 hours for them to show. He called dispatch to ask ETA - the person he spoke to was insanely rude, hung up the phone, then cancelled the ticket. We ended up calling a tow service of our own and bypassing insurance. It’s not worth it if this, cooper, is the kind of service you get. I won’t ever call them for any needs and by the look of their reviews, a lot of people won’t be using them. I am also filing a complaint with our insurance company about this company.

One of the most unprofessional companies I have ever worked with. Definitely was price gouged & misled. Wish I would have read the reviews before I used them-that was my fault.

Cooper Towing Waterloo IL...Review time: road side assistance dispatched yesterday at 3:20pm with towing company : recieved confirmation that they would pick up around 4:30( I have proof in a text message) Coopers towing and recovery in Waterloo. Illinois. I sat 3 and a half hours made several calls while waiting and spoke to some guy 1 time in Waterloo (after several attempts to reach them)who said they are not obligated to be there by 4:30 and that they will have someone come. At 7:30 pm I decided to leave. Called my insurance company and they also reached out multiple times and got no response but said to call back in the morning and they could cancel the order and dispatch a new company. Not okay either but i didnt have a choice. ( Thank God my daughter and kids weren't stranded or me either and Thank God it was allowed to remain at the property while we worked on getting it out of there.) Today at 10:30 while I was working I had still not heard from Coopers so I called my insurance filed a complaint and requested a new dispatch. With in 10 minutes got a confirmation from Angelinos Tow out of Belleville IL. They picked up my truck up in less than 30 minutes. The driver communicated the entire time with updates and had it delivered to the shop 28 miles from where it broke down by 12:47 pm today. I will recommend Angelinos Towing to anyone. And may I suggest that if you consider Cooper Towing out Waterloo illinois to stay as far away from that as they are NOT dependable, they are not a reliable business and they have ZERO customer service.

Would leave less than one star if I could. This place shouldn’t even be in business. Scheduled roadside assistance through geico was told one hour. Hour came and went hour and half passed tried to call no answer at any locations. Will never use them again and will tell everyone I ever hear looking to stay as far away as possible.

When my car was stuck in the snow with a shredded tire, they walked me through the situation, and I was able to convey the information via cell phone. I did not need to stay with the vehicle. I was able to pay via email and send this invoice to the insurance company to be covered. This potentially upsetting situation was easy peasy. Thanks to Cooper towing’s laid-back yet efficient staff and easily accessible options.

This is the second time, my insurance company recommended this tow company to us. Our first experience with them, we received text messages stating “their eta would be 60 mins” and another that read, “we’re on our way.” We waited, called and called. Waited some more only to no avail. They ended up not showing at all, leaving me with wasted time and out of pocket expense.

My vehicle wouldn’t start, and I requested roadside assistance at around 6:45. My insurance sent Cooper’s, and they arrived within twenty minutes. I was relieved to say the least.

Cooper's Towing & Recovery are excellent. They got someone out to us very quickly for a blown front tire. Response time was quicker than expected. Found tool in our vehicle to take spare tire out from under truck. Replaced tire all while explaining what he was doing. Made sure other tires were inflated properly. Dispatcher and driver were super friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Would definitely recommend them to everyone. We will definitely call them again when we are in need of their services.

This company was assigned to us for roadside assistance through Geico at 8:50am for a flat tire on my wife's car. Quoted arrival was 9:54am -- at 10:30 no contact from the company whatsoever so my wife called and couldn't get through to anyone after waiting on hold for 6 minutes. I tried and waited on hold for 10 minutes and reached a complete jerk. Semantics over where she was located, Geico's app is garbage and doesn't let you drop an exact pin. His order said she was on the on-ramp to Columbia from 255 -- he said she wasn't there. I tried to explain she was leaving Columbia now on 255 towards the JB Bridge. He told me I wasn't listening and proceeded to talk over me that his order stated she was on the on-ramp. I said, "you're not listening either, I'm trying to tell you where she is." The guy throws a toddler-esque temper tantrum and shouts, "Okay, you know what, BYE!" 2 hours later, no assistance. Slow down and listen to your customers brother -- neither of us can help that Geico gave you the wrong location. I was trying to give you the exact location, no need to be a jerk and hang up on me. Also, there was a contact number provided to you from Geico -- if you can't find the person, maybe call the number to get better directions? If you can help it, do business with a different towing company, these guys won't answer the phone and when they do, you as the customer will be in the wrong and they'll be a jerk about it.

Awful late night service. Truck was 45 minutes so I called to get a possible ETA and after 30 minutes on hold with 4 separate extension numbers I decided to call my insurance provider. The service was shown on Geico's end as completed by Coopers Towing which is impossible considering my car was never towed. I don't know if it was willful negligence or accidental but it was negligence from Coopers nonetheless with seemingly no way of contacting them either. Don't waste your time.

Do Not Do Business with them. I scheduled a tow through my insurance company and this was the company they had scheduled me. My first tow time was at 7:37pm. Cooper towing didn’t call me till 7:30pm to tell me they was behind and only had one driving and could schedule me a later time. Fast forward 12 hours later scheduled another tow between the times 6-8am they didn’t show. Called my insurance again a whole bunch of mix up and they had to change the time to 9:37am. It’s 9:58am and they never showed again, called my insurance they never picked up for my insurance and they had to schedule me a whole different towing company. Please don’t waste your time with them. They are very unprofessional

Once again, thank you for your service.

Could not ask for better service. Great recovery company that went above and beyond in helping us when we lost the keys to our cars. Highly recommend.

Almost run off the road by a VERY aggressive young driver. 2 babies in our car and doing the speed limit. Got the plate number and called the business to make them aware. I asked to speak to the manager, and the man said he was the co-owner. I explained the situation, and how the driver was aggressive and blaring horn. I gave him the license plate number, description of driver, and location we were at. He was SO VERY unhelpful saying that license plate number was unhelpful and he needed the truck number, which I did not get as the truck blew by me. I asked this co-owner his name and his response was "I have no obligation to tell you that". I was shaken up and he was nothing but rude. This was a Saturday and he said he would review the tapes on Monday and get back to me. Never had faith that he would, and it's been 7 days with no return call.

Geico called them to provide roadside assistance for my daughter. She waited an hour for a technician, at which point he called her & said it’d be an addition 35 minutes. When she asked him to text her an update when he was actually on the way, he smarted off to her. He then apparently called Geico & told them she wanted to cancel the request. Trying to call the company was of zero use—they don’t answer the phone for us, or even when Geico was calling them. If you’re going to take a contract w the insurance, you need to provide the service. Leaving someone stranded w a flat tire in cold weather at night is really not acceptable.

Don’t take service calls from insurance companies for roadside assistance if your company has zero intent of sending a tow truck after being dispatched. No real reason to have a phone number either if no one wants to answer the phone. Based off other reviews this isn’t the first time this has happened and clearly won’t be the last time. Have fun screwing screwing more people in the future.

Terrance was EXTREMELY personal. I highly recommend him and this company. He tested my car with care and even gave me some advice on how I can get my car back up and running. His service was worth a million dollars to me!

It would of easily been 5 stars if they didn't assign my tow to someone that was hours away already. I had a 1 year old with me and we waited over 4 hours.for a tow truck to tow my car not even 2 miles.

Broke down at 9:45 PM. GEICO assigned this company to help me out. Was given an 11:14 PM ETA. At 12:30 AM the tow truck pulled into the lot, but then immediately pulled out. I called to see if he had missed me and he said, “Dispatch pulled me off your call because another truck is around the corner.” That was an hour ago now. No one is answering the after hours number and I am currently stranded. If they don’t show up soon I will have to eat my own leg just to survive.

This company was assigned to my roadside emergency via geico. Waited the hour for them to arrive about 10 minutes after their scheduled eta I called and couldn't get anyone on the phone thanks to them not showing up and not answering their after hours line, it'll be a total of 4 hours of wait time by the time I'm towed.

BEWARE: TOWED TO WRONG LOCATION, LEFT WINDOWS DOWN, THREATENED BY EMPLOYEES My vehicle was supposed to be towed from Kirkwood to St Charles after my alternator went out. When AAA dispatched a towing company, Cooper's was who I received. This is taking place in St. Louis in June during a heatwave; no alternator = no power = no AC = I wasn't able to wait with my vehicle multiple hours for the tow to arrive. When the driver, Won (Lon?), called me at 2 am after picking up my vehicle, he left a voicemail asking if St Charles was indeed the destination, unsure then reassuring himself it was. When I contacted my mechanic in the morning, the vehicle had never arrived. Upon calling AAA & following the paper trail, Cooper's told me that the vehicle ticket "was never given a correct address" trying to blame AAA. The address for the auto-body shop was confirmed multiple times between all parties involved - AAA, myself & Cooper's - documented through AAA phone recordings. If the driver of Cooper's was unsure, why not call again to make sure? He had already called once claiming he knew where he was going. Upon contacting Cooper's to relocate my car, the driver, Won, acknowledged the mistake through text messaging & said he was calling into Cooper's himself to get it fixed. Vicky, Cooper's secretary, was to put me in contact with her supervisor Tim or Jake. His name was unclear & he was apparently driving when taking my call. Tim?/Jake? - admittedly unfamiliar with the situation - immediately tried to debate my experience. After being caught up to the timeline, his reaction was that "he wasn't there" to determine any conversation between me & their driver, & he "couldn't take sides" on the matter - completely disregarding the fact that IT WAS LEFT ON A VOICEMAIL about being unsure where Won was taking the car, Won acknowledging there was a mistake the next day via text, Vicky acknowledging a major error was made between Cooper's & AAA, refusing to confirm the correct address, dropping the car off at the wrong location without remembering or writing down where they dropped the vehicle - all with my driver window down (was up when they were called to get the car). Won's decision to put the windows down (why?) after towing the car to a random location & leaving them down has resulted in interior water damage to my vehicle. Cooper's has refused any accountability nor offered any compensation, for location error nor for damage caused by leaving the window down after a tow before a thunderstorm. Where's the common sense or decency? Y'all took a car to the wrong location & left the window down. Is that what you'd expect a tow company to do for you if you hired one? Not to mention the audacity to call me & ask the mileage difference of where you dropped my car compared to where it was supposed to be delivered - call YOUR driver for that! *For reference, verbatim on the Cooper's Towing website: "Our mission - You, the customer comes First We love happy customers and clients, no matter how big or small! Keep in mind when you choose Cooper's Towing & Recovery Inc. We are here to put you first. We Promise You the Best Being an owner / operator ran business we can promise the best! Whether it be affordable prices, friendly and professional drivers, or reliability Cooper's is the total package and your go-to towing or road side assistance provider!" Cooper's - this was not "the best", nor was this experience in any way "professional". Just like you love happy customers, I love companies that do the job or service they're paid to do. I'm sure you can understand that logic without 'taking sides'. As obvious as it reads, in any situation, resorting to threatening customers is completely inexcusable behavior. You don't have the authority to revoke anyone's AAA membership because you don't work for AAA - it's silly & elementary (similar to how your business is run) to remind you of this. *Free tow-truck pro tip: confirm the correct address if you're unsure where you're dropping someone's vehicle. Also, if you put a window down, roll it back up.

At 9:15pm I got a flat tire. Gieco roadside called Cooper towing to fix it for me within an hour. I kept getting updates on arrival time, 60 min, the 4 min, then I had to call no answer to the dispatch. I called Geico back, they said the driver got held up at the prior call. Will arrive in 25 min, An hour later I called Geico, they said 30 min, the driver then called me and said 38 min. He arrived and wanted to tow my car when it was a tire change. The driver was upset and shaking his head when he arrived. He wanted me to sign a tow ticket and I asked why a tow ticket when it is a tire change. I called his boss and explained what was happening and he declined me service. I sat there for 3 1/2 waiting for them and they left me stranded. I left my home at 9:05 and just got home at 1:30 am. My husband and a nice police officer changed my flat. My husband got off of work at 12:00 to help me. I would never use this company.

I was aggressively cut off in traffic, passed and brake-checked by the tow truck from this fleet with the license plate number 4-5714. They also tailgated a motorcyclist. I reported them to the non emergency police number.

I had a tow driver named Wesley. He was a awesome tow driver. He helped me tremendously and made me feel safe in the truck. He was a very respectful man and quick to answer any questions i had. Made sure everything was secure with my car before we drove away. The most important he made sure my seat belt was buckled before we left and that i had a mask to start with when he approached. Great job Wesley u get 20 stars!!! Great worker your company has!!!

Called AAA at 815 am and got cooper's, took him one and a half hours to come 4 miles. Called at 920am, when he was supposed to be here, said he was leaving to come here. Still didn't get here till 945 am. Don't know what took so long. Maybe he had to get breakfast or coffee. Would anyone like to wait this long? The shop was waiting on our truck, couldn't believe it took that long!

Jake the driver of the tow truck, was exceptional not only there in a hurry but diagnosed the issue handled it. Double checked to make sure it would not happen again or anywhere else on the vehicle. Got us on our way. Every now and then God sends a angel. Thank you Jake you are a blessing to your company. BTW called to follow up make sure all was good.
