Convenient location and friendly service! Safe and relaxing place to stop for the night. The two ladies that checked us in were charming and full of useful information. Very clean facilities. 10/10 Would definitely stay here again!

This could be a cute little campground, despite it being in the middle of industrial businesses. It is simply tired and not kept up. The dog play area was dirty and not mowed. The children’s play area appeared as expected for KOA’s. The laundry facility has limited hours, 9-4:30 (last load). Office has limited hours 9-6. We saw what appeared as unhoused people walking the street the campground is on. Ultimately, we felt this was an unsafe area.

Very cute, older KOA, hostess very helpful and friendly. It's just located in a more industrial area down near the Mississippi ports. But very well kept, clean, and quaint. Not easy to get to with lots of construction going on.

Reserved an RV spot for the night. Perfect for what we needed. Nice ladies at check in store! Full hookup pull through

Pretty sure this KOA gave us bedbugs. I regret the choice to stay here. I did not realize that this location wasn’t as grand as the other KOA’s. We’ve stayed in nearby areas. Nothing about this experience was good. If I can rate in a negative manner that would fit the bill.

Best place in the area for families/kids. Wouldn’t stay any where else! My husband and I stay in our 5th wheel as we travel for work. This RV park is well kept, grass is maintained and showers/restrooms are clean. No rating for rooms because we are in our RV. Price in line with every other park in the area. This place offers lots of space, shade, playground for kids, and a pool. This park has met our needs nicely.

We’ve stayed at 6 KOA locations in the past 6 months, and up until now we’ve had nothing but great experiences. Unfortunately, the St. Louis N.E. / I-270 / Granite City KOA Journey was a huge disappointment, and we will not be returning. Our cabin had cobwebs ?️ and felt run-down, almost like it hadn’t been properly cared for in a long time. The grounds were poorly maintained—gravel, grass, and overall upkeep were lacking. The staff at the front desk were unfriendly and unwelcoming, which only made things worse. The pool was the worst part: green, dirty, and warm ?—definitely not the refreshing break you expect on a hot day. If you’re considering this location, I recommend skipping it altogether. Instead, try the KOA at 18475 Old US Hwy 66 in Eureka, MO (right by Six Flags St. Louis). We’ve stayed there three times and always had a fantastic experience. Sadly, this Granite City site just doesn’t measure up.

Stopped here for one night on the way back east. Unhitched and went to St. Louis downtown. I don't think some of the reviews did justice for this KOA. 1stly, this is a KOA journey, not holiday. It is usually for short stops not destination. Many if not most Journeys are right next to highways for convenience not ambience. So expecting resort setting surroundings is simply unrealistic. Secondly this campsite is clean and well maintained. Bathroom/showers are among the cleanest and most spacious of all the KOAs we passed through. The locality may be within industrial zones with sight somewhat unusual but that's out of operators control and get this: this is St Louis! A city that's full of rough industrial zones many of which are not in the best shape (a testimony of its glorious past maybe?) Unless you want to be located further out in the suburbs, this location is a decent compromise for those who just want a site to unhitch and visit the city. All in all, while not knocking out of my socks, this is a KOA deserves more than a 3 star rating. It is on par and even better with most other journeys we have been to.

We took our new camper here as it was close to a race that I was doing. The check in/check out was easy, the staff was friendly, the bathrooms were nice and clean and the pool was a great temperature on a hot July day.

Spotted a couple just outside the entrance gate on our way in. The woman was on her knees, I assume she must have been tying the guys shoe. Very nice of her. By the way, this campground is smack center in the middle of an industrial park surrounded by beautiful chemical tankers and industrial equipment instead of nature. Truly a refreshing change of scenery from your typical campground. A train seems to run thru the town around 7am with a very loud horn which is a nice wake up call. 3 stars, would definitely go out of my way to stay again.

Shannon was wonderful to work with. She was closing up the office but stayed on the phone after hours and we got a reservation in for the same night at the last minute. She was clear that the location is a bit odd and surrounded by trucking companies. BUT once you go thru the entrance, it’s beautiful with lots of trees and very clean. Just what you’d expect from a KOA!

Claimed they were full for the weekend but had visibly lots of open spots. We had the worst spot and when we asked to move they stated they were full. Not really close to st louis like the book says. Uber is expensive to go back and forth. Just had a few issues overall. If your looking for being close to St louis stay closer.

Not the expected KOA standard. Lots were way too small. We had to move picnic table to pull in. The next lot had a guy working on his truck, 2 dogs that presented as threatening and there was dog poop left along the utility line which was not picked up even though the owner was home. So disappointing and cost was $60+

Kinda sketchy area that you drive thru, but all in all it’s quiet, cozy and pleasant. They were immediately happy to help when electricity was not working and fixed it right away!

Location to 270 is the best thing about this campground. It was safe. Grass needed mowed and a little work would make it a cute place to stay. Decent amount of bugs.

This place isn’t in the nice part of town. The RV sites are dirty. There’s trash everywhere. The playground is gross. Kids were able to play only on a floor pillow thing they have which isn’t bad. The “basketball” court they have is mostly broken. Shakes and I’m not even sure why they have it up. The pool was closed at 6 pm when we arrived so kids couldn’t play in it. What kind of place closes a pool during the summer at 6 when you’re barely checking in at 4?! So disappointed! Would never stay here again even if it was free. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Not a bad campground just in an odd location. If you like the sounds of semi trucks and school buses during the day then this may be the place for you. The cabins were clean. They have air-conditioning and heat. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The staff was friendly. It's close to the highway and across the river from St Louis.

We stayed here April 23rd & 24th and it was a wonderful place to stay! We rented a 23 foot RV for our trip and wanted to know about the area to travel with it. The woman at the front desk was a former dispatcher for the police and is very knowledgeable about the area and advised not going in certain places with the RV. She guided us in a great direction to see the sites in the area and we had a great time here! Very clean and well kept.

Extremely rude and disrespectful staff!!! Didn’t even get to the place before we got to experience how incredibly rude the staff is. My family and I are booking a camping trip through a couple states but due to some changes in work scheduling we had to change the dates of our stay. We reached out to adjust our dates of stay, and hadn’t heard back for a week or so and so we decided to reach out again so we could make sure everything was handled. Our emails were so professional and nice with the best intentions, absolutely not being rude or having a bad attitude. At first, a gentleman responded to our email being very kind and helpful and easily switched our dates and site. However, a few days later we got ANOTHER email from Amanda being unnecessarily rude and claiming we were giving her attitude and acting as if she was at our “beck and call.” Ummm what? It’s a campground and you’re the owner, is it not your responsibility to handle things in a timely manner for your guests? We waited over a week to even send a follow up email. Then she says she “didn’t want our money” and we need to “learn to act right.” Yeah ok lady, how about YOU learn to act right? We literally had nothing but a kind and respectful attitude just to be met with bitterness and hate. SMH rude people and after reading the reviews I can see we aren’t the only ones to have this experience with Amanda and the rude staff of this campground.

Reading through the reviews, the good and the bad, we booked here expecting a worse experience but we were pleasantly surprised. It didn’t feel as if you were tucked in the woods next to several trucking companies. With the maple and oak trees, it felt way out in the woods. The washrooms were acceptable, not exceptional, not awful. The only thing was the freaking noise from the speedway a couple of miles away. That was pretty brutal at night!

By far the worst KOA we’ve ever stayed at! Checking in was fine, efficient not friendly. Site was level. Dog park was a total mess. Dog waste deposal was over flowing, fence down between the two sides. No lighting at night. Shady area behind our site with broken fence. Dumpster looked and smelt as to not been emptied in weeks! No WiFi and they didn’t say that until a text you receive when it’s too late to cancel! AVOID THIS PLACE

We needed an rv spot for a week and found this koa. We were really surprised that they had availability because we were arriving right before Labor Day weekend and koa's are impossible to get. Koa's are always more expensive than other rv parks, but the hospitality is always amazing and you know you're going to get quality. This place was not up to Koa standards and was a huge disappointment. We almost missed it because the 1st sign is so small and its next to a trucking center. When we check in the 2 girls behind the counter were really rude. 1 had a pet duck in a stroller, which koa's don't let pets inside places, but she works there, fine, but she was so nasty to us that we asked about her duck. If you're going to have a pet duck, people will ask! They told us they'd be right out to escort us, 5 minutes later and they didn't come, so we just went to our spot. We realized we didn't have bread for lunch so I walked to the office, office was locked and the 2 girls were vaping in the car. 1 got out, opened the office to see if there was bread but wouldn't let me in even though the hours posted said they should be open. The dog park was gross, it looked like the garbage pail hadn't been emptied in a month and it looked like no one took care of it. Koa's usually pick up trash, but this 1 didn't, which was fine, but other people left their trash out to be picked up after they left and trash sat out for 4-5 days and itvsmelled. Around the managers house was messy and there was lots of junk. They were never full the whole time we were there and spent most of the time less than half full. Now I know why we could get reservations at the last minute. If you go expecting the usual 5 star koa service and atmosphere, this isn't it.

Most places greet customers with the hello or how can I help you when they walk in, this place I was just greeted with a blank stare. It's your typical KOA journey and could use a little love and attention. The pool was nice and clean and the perfect temperature even in late June. The negative things were that it is down a gravel road to several industrial businesses, not very holiday looking at all. There is a feral colony of cats that live on the other side of the property but venture into the campgrounds at night. Unfortunately the dog park backs right up to the shelters left for the cats and the bottom of the dog park fence is not secured to the ground so a small pet or a determined larger one could easily push through and be loose. When I left on a Saturday afternoon, it was to the sound of several handgun shots coming from one of the industrial areas behind the KOA. Pretty sure there's not an official shooting range out there but I wouldn't want my children outside when that is happening. I was there for only three nights, but the dog waste trash can was almost full to the top when I pulled in and when sitting outside it was an unpleasant smell. I called the office and they did empty it right away. However that was the last time it was emptied while I was there. The KOA is very close to St Louis and all the sites and eateries. It is not quiet at this KOA. The industrial trucks sometimes arrive is late as 12:30 and the trash man for the KOA came as early as 6:30 one morning. There is also a train. If you're looking for a one or two-day stay and there's nothing else available this KOA is fine but if any of the above negatives bother you I would keep searching.

Laundry Facilities were only open to guests from 9am until 7pm. No other KOA we stayed in had this restriction. We had to wait for a washer when we arrived back from our day in St Louis and by the time we were ready to put our clothes in the dryer they were very rude and kicked us out of the laundry room. We had to drive to our next location with a pile of wet clothes. The location is not very scenic but it's a short drive to the city. Once we set up camp, it cost us $20 for an Uber to the arch. We didn't dare try to take our RV into the city.

We were simply not very impressed with this campground. Even as a KOA member, the price was extremely high. The sites were gravel and grass. The laundry was unusable and initially, the pool was unavailable. The campground also sits completely surrounded by commercial trucking businesses so it's very noisy. This place is probably okay for a single night.

Great location right off the highway, so easy in and out. Unfortunately, that comes with all the highway noise from being a couple blocks off the interstate. It's doesn't look pretty from the road, in the middle of some industrial shipping lots, but there are plenty of trees that hide that. You almost feel like you're in the woods. We've been here a couple of times just traveling through, and the staff has always been friendly. It's definitely a place we'll return to as it's halfway between a place we visit a lot and home.

We had an amazing stay. Felt very much outdoors but still had all the amazing amenities you don’t realize you want! I didn’t want to go far from home because of the kiddos but it still felt very secluded and not like Granite City at all. Definitely go check them out. The kids spent 6 hrs in the pool and loved the jumping pad and play areas!

I hate to leave a bad review, but I think people need to know what this campground is surrounded by. An industrial park, a very busy railroad, and a speedway. We hardly slept. It was SO LOUD very late into the night. We ended up requesting a refund for the next two nights and found a different place to stay. The tent sites were nice and flat and roomy, but with the noise, I wouldn’t recommend this place for tent camping. The campground is okay, but kind of run down. There was plenty for the kids, but was definitely shabby. This was our first KOA experience. I would never choose KOA again had another camper not told us this was horrible compared to other KOAs. Sounds like it is not up to standards. I’m grateful they refunded our next two nights. That was much appreciated.

I'll be honest. I was a bit nervous about the reviews at first before we arrived on our way out to Colorado. I can honestly say we were very pleasantly surprised by this location. The office staff when we arrived were very nice and welcoming! It is in an industrial area but you would never know once inside the campground. It's in its own little world and very relaxing. The pool was nice and the bathrooms were clean. Great place to hang your hat for the night and roll on! ? I would stay again !

Tough review, location and tightness of spots was a 3, staff and friendliness is a 4. Right in between a truck facility, train or junkyard and port or shipping. Thought we were lost until turning into the location. Dog park was tiny, like 2 chihuahuas would run into each other small. Decent for a night or driving through to stop, but nothing around here to really see. Had a bounce pillow which my kids loved. Spots were really tight, like 6 feet on each side to the other campers. Sewer had a flange type attachment so we got to look directly at and smell the neighbors sewer for a week. Staff were great however ?
