Not as helpful as other ace hardware stores in the area but managed to find what i needed.

I always find what I need and the associates are always so helpful.

Prices are cheaper on the shelf than they are at the checkout! Pay attention! Was also stalked through the store by an employee watching for me to steal something but not once asked if I needed help finding anything.

They have hard to find items and good helpful employees.

It is always a pleasure shopping here. Sign up for their rewards; you will get useful coupons ALL the time ($5-20 off usually, often with no min purchase or as little as ten bucks), plus free shipping. Their associates have always been friendly and helpful in my experience. I've found the store to be well stocked and clean, and their prices are almost always cheaper than the big blue and big orange guys (but admittedly, only sometimes cheaper than the blue box store up the road on route 3). They won't have everything the big blue and big orange guys have (lumber, for example), but you're guaranteed a more pleasant and laid back shopping experience here, if Ace has what you need, and you'll undoubtedly save some money, too. As an aside, they carry Speed Queen W/D sets in-store!!!! These are super hard to find in the metro, and after I bought my set I wish I'd had the slightest clue to check Ace's prices on them, too!

I visit often for supplies. It is a great store with a wide variety of products.

This is a well ran store. Good selection for your needs or wants.

Very unique and quality for whatever you need they have it where are other places might not but you can call to make sure before going you're going to get what you need there.

Helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices and easy to find products. By far my favorite local hardware store… Keep up the great work!

This is what I remember a hardware store being when I was young; helpful and customer-centric. Last year I was in there looking for something to assist me getting old fan blades off a dead motor shaft. An employee there took it in the back and made it happen. When I asked how much, he responded "nothing, just come back." I will for sure!

Went after 3 things I needed. They had none of these: florescent bulbs of the right size, pepper plants, and a small hose. So many shelves were empty I asked if the store was closing . The checkout person replied, "if they are they didn't tell me!" !

A Young man named Blake has been a Godsend as for saving me time, energy, and with his knowledge, was able to find what I needed in minutes. He has assisted me twice in the past two weeks and aided in a wonderful experience with public relations and so pleasant and easy to speak with.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I was in the area doing some work, not from Granite City. So it was a relief to see them have the stuff I needed to finish my job and also referred me to another spot for the 1 piece they were out of stock of.

Super friendly staff, but not always fully stocked - meaning it’s a good place to start a search for tools or housewares, but it’s 50/50 you find what you’re looking for

False advertising! Plan to pursue turning them into the Consumer Protection Division of the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Drove out of my way to buy a vacuum bagger they sad was in stock for $54. They would not sell it to me when I got there. The bagger is pictured as well as the manager who refused.

One star because of one manager. Corporate seriously needs to send in a secret shopper and have an interaction with Miss manager. This woman has no experience working with customers, she is rude and her projection of negativity is atrocious. I have heard her now on three separate occasions treat customers like everyone is below her and it's her way or the highway ams today she did it to me. This is the third bad incident I've had with Miss Manager where she has handled a situation incredibly poorly. I'm not sure who put a woman like this in this position but she is unfit for it. It is a shame to give a negative review to another business in the area but when you're spending the money that I do in a store like this and get treated as terrible as I did today you have to say something. I have 32 employees. I would never speak to an employee the way this woman speaks to her crew nor would I treat customers like dirt the way this manager treats people. Something needs to be done, corporate seriously needs to reevaluate who they have representing their store.

GO TO WALMART!! Ripped off for a carpet cleaner rental. I rented a carpet cleaner here and didn't get a chance to use it till 3 hours before the end of contract. When I got to it the pump was not pushing fluid. I checked all the fittings and tried the hand tool attachment but nothing worked. I called the store and voiced my problem over the phone. The associate tells me to come and get another machine for free and I'll have another day to clean. When I show up the manager tells me I would owe her for another day to get a rental.... She refused to help further and I left the machine. Do not rent here. Defective machines that are not updated.

I rented a carpet cleanr. It didn't work. They said because it was only a couple hrs before I was supposed to have it back that I'd have to pay for another day. I they wouldn't give me my money back. It doesn't matter when I found out it didn't work. It didn't work so I paid for nothing

The staff is extremely helpful as well as quite knowledgeable. The store was neat and organized. They have a great variety of items.

Diane and Mathew were extremely helpful, went above and beyond to get my cars auto start fob reprogrammed. I cannot say enough about the excellent service!

I went here not knowing the name of the piece I needed or the name of the manufacturer. I go to the plumbing department got what I thought looked similar took it to one of their employees and he was honest he said I have no idea. He said but this guy will and the man walked over and he knew the manufacturer just by looking at the middle of my shower knob and assured me that I had picked the exact piece I needed. Came home and reassembled my shower no more leaks

I called this store because they had a part for my furnace that needed replacing. Upon confirming that they had it they were closing in 15 mins. I live 30 mins away. I asked if someone could stay behind, or if I could buy it over the phone and leave it somewhere so I could pick it up. Instead the manager gave me a cold hard calous "no, we're leaving". He offered 5 mins, again I said I live 30 mins away the earliest I could get there was 15 mins after the hour. No can do. Instead of helping me theyd rather have me and my young children suffer the coldest winter weather to date this year? We have been without heat all day, and you're cool with just letting that continue on through the night until tomorrow when you open? Wow. The lack human sympathy is disgusting.

I basically live at Cotton’s Ace. I’m the owner of a public charity and have a business account. Majority of the time I ask for Charlie, a dang fine employee and a savant when it comes to home improvement and repairs. Unfortunately the wait for me is usually 20 min or longer. Last week while I was filling my basket with power tools for the job site I asked for help numerous times to no avail. There was no Charlie on that shift. I watched a crowd of employees gathered near the pro desk and was even hushed by a woman behind the counter. After two hours of wandering aimlessly and asking for help I finally abandoned my cart and left. Don’t be a shoosher, be Charlie.

I am at the store often have a membership of their rewards program. I always get coupons in the mail. They have a lot to shop from and a great return policy. And they have friendly customer service as well. They also offer delivery to the local area. There is always always someone in there to help you find anything you may need. You will enjoy the convenience of having a good store in our local area again. No need to go to any surrounding town they can accommodate even lumber.

A great selection of goods, and just like every place with lumber, I had to hunt to find good usable 2 x 4's (the cheap ones). But, other lumber was great quality (2 x 8 & dowels). Always friendly & helpful staff. Every time I've been. Wider selection than I initially thought.

I have been there a handful of times since their opening. I have been welcomed & helped on every occasion. They have been really friendly & very helpful. I don't generally boast about a business like this. If you are unsure of something this is the place to go.
