I used to love this place, but I’m not sure what happened. Back in March 2025, I had my drive belt and tensioner replaced here. On Wednesday, 9/24, I brought my car to Nissan in Arlington Heights for a routine oil change, which includes a free inspection. Nissan informed me that my drive belt already had dry rot and that the tensioner was installed incorrectly.
I called Barranco’s to let them know, and while they did say the work is under warranty, I was upset because this was less than six months ago. To make matters worse, when my friend went to pick up my car for me (since I was at work), she immediately called to tell me that my driver’s side window would not stay up—it was broken, which was not the case before bringing it in.
I honestly don’t know what has happened to this place. I used to trust them, but now I’m devastated that not only did the repair not last, but I also have new damage to deal with.

Mechanic Wilson is a great mechanic! He is very honest with you and the problems that your car may be having. The prices are very reasonable. When you talk to Wilson you are at ease that your car is in great hands!

Took my vehicle in due to an oil leak and to replace my oil pan as well as to change my spark plugs.My suv isn't leaking oil anymore and the oil pan is fine which I'm thankful for but it's been running absoluately horrible since I got it back from him. I've had my vehicle 7yrs and it hasn't ever cut off nor stopped on me. My vehicle has stopped on my a few times since I've got it back from him. I've contacted the mechanic which has told me that it's running like that because of the codes that was showing up on my vehicle. Mined you I had whatever codes he's talking about before he started working on my vehicle. I'm to afraid to take my vehicle back. I also asked him did he put new spark plugs on my vehicle and he said no but the ones he put on were good. Absolutely horrible. Especially since it cost me $1800
These are the best mechanics around and fairly priced. They treat you like family and they are very honest people and I couldn’t ask for anything better in a mechanic. I am a single mom and they always work with me. This place is top notch.
