Normally a great place, but lost sales this morning when they were open, but not plowed at all. I had to go to the competitor across the street- they were ready for business!

This is the hidden gem in the Elgin/South Elgin area.The guys working here are the best.They try and help everyone and always seem to have a solution.I am reluctant to post because I dont want them to get to busy.The one in Elgin though sucks ,terrible service and other places in the area dont have enough material and as good of service

Don't shop here!! I was aware of the 48 hour rental tool policy in order to get your refund, so I made sure to return the tool the same day except as soon as I try to return it, I'm told they can't do any large refunds after 5 pm and to come back in the morning. Seriously??? I can understand if I did cash and there wasn't enough cash available, but I used my card. Can't do a $100 return to my card because it's past 5pm?!? I've never seen a BS reason like that before. That just shows this company will do what they can to try and keep your money. They don't care about the customer. I'm not shopping here again once I return this tool.

Waste of time. The manager stood there while his worker struggled when it came to finding the parts I needed. I still got the incorrect parts sold to me. Improve when it comes to asking for help/step up when your workers are struggling.

I walked in and asked if they price match competitors the guy asked who and what. I said Walmart and motor oil he said no that Walmart prices are way too cheap. Their online price match policy states they do price match local competitors. It doesn’t say they exclude Walmart for being too cheap, anyway I walked out and drove 5 minutes down the street to Walmart their oil was $24 while oreilly was charging $37 for the same thing

Yoo Shoutout to Alex Caceres. Expert in testing batteries, alternators, starter and Wiper blade installations. He can also install batteries. Definitely recommend asking for him when you swing by the place. Young man is such a professional.

Went in for brakes that the website said was compatible with my car, the “car experts” there said they were not. Then they tried to say instead of the listed $23.99 for the brakes, that we would have to pay $60 for ONLY the front brakes. They were very rude, condescending, and had zero clue how to help people out. I’m very disappointed in my experience there and I suggest that you, the consumer, don’t waste your time going to the OReilly’s on McLean in South Elgin. I’m a certified automotive technician who used to work for Advance Auto Parts, and I now know why people used to come in and say the same things I just said about this place. Save your money and go to Auto Zone, Advance, or even the junkyard for your parts, instead of being treated poorly from rude, uneducated people.

I always thought this is great place to buy what you need for your car. My last trip end up ( my fault did not double check) terribly wrong. I asked the worker, really nice young gentleman for the windshield liquid. He came with the orange bottle so proud of himself he moved. I paid $11 thinking " wow even this price went up since last time". Got home, asked my son to add the liquid, and done deal. Few days later my hubby called asking what did I add to the windshield sprinkle since his windshield is so oily and he can not see anything. After farther investigation I find out we added coolant. Took us a while to clean the entire car and system. Now I will be on the loom out for that young kid.

Awesome staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Had a horrible experience at Autozone, and they were the complete opposite, they went above and beyond in making sure I had the best price. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I purchased a lower control arm with balljoint from O'rilleys. (Which cost more than autozone) however O'Reilly's was closer. My control arm was missing the pinch bolt straight out of the box. I called this store and Sam at the front desk answered the phone. He explained that it should not have been missing, and that it tends to happen (which in my eyes, should never happen) He then asked if I already put the control arm on my vehicle. (Which I did) and I explained that to him. So he then asked if "I purchased the control arm from this store" (which I already explained that I did, and I didnt understand why he was asking again). I told him "yes, of course" so he told me to "bring the old part in and he will give me a new pinch bolt" (which I never recieved in the first place) so this was all a bit confusing why I needed to bring the old control arm in. So I asked " if I bring the old control arm in, you will give me a new bolt?, because I dont have a ride and will need to find one) he told me "yes, were open until 10) I asked for his name and he told me Sam....I found a ride to the store, and when I got there, the joke was on me. I asked for Sam and when he came to help me, I realized that wasn't going far. He explained that he could only sell me a seperate balljoint with the pinch bolt in it if I didn't take the new arm back off my vehicle to exchange it for a new arm. Which doesn't make sense if I don't need a new arm. I just need a pinch bolt. If he would have clearly stated this over the phone I wouldn't have bothered wasting time or money getting to the store to get my part that I was missing from the get go. Instead he was extremely rude and aggressive towards me, explaining that the direct words he used over the phone I misinterpreted.. which in my eyes.. when he said bring the old arm in, that means the old arm.. not the brand new arm I purchased. A simple misunderstanding over the phone resulted in a customer being treated unfairly and with disrespect. I dont know how this was so confusing, I was very clear on the phone. Once ai got to the store I walked inside and it smelled like marijuana. I know it's legal and all, but that should be kept at home and not at work, maybe things wouldn't be alittle more clear to understand. By the way, I am a medical marijuana patient of the state of illinois. I am not saying a disapprove of it in anyway, but it may affect others differently. I feel terrible for assuming, but that makes the only sense for how Sam was so unclear and confusing on the phone. Because this was very black and white... no grey area. In the end I highly recommend going to Autozone, Advanced Auto parts. Or Napa auto parts for your parts, because the fact "parts are missing often" is not a good thing, let alone the out right disrespect you get from this store. What happened to the customers always right? Definetly not good customer service, or a representation of this company. Do yourself the favor and check your boxes for parts, avoid Sam at all cost, or do the best choice and go RIGHT ACROSS MCCLEAN to Autozone... it's literally across the street. I would not waste all of my time typing this out over a simple 12 dollar pinchbolt. I just dont want this to happen to anyone else. BEWARE.

So far I have only had good experiences at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. My most recent experience I was running around town trying to find a battery and this locate had it in stock and held it for me until I arrived. Thank you!

99 out of 100 times we can always get our carparts here plus they're reasonably price for the most part ,so we really like getting the parts from here .Customer service is also very nice indeed.

Poor service for a long time customer. Came in for a pair of new wiper blades. When someone came over I had them to purchase and asked them to install. Went up to the counter and was told it would be at least 30 to 45 minutes or more. Went across the street and was in and out in 10 minutes and this wasn't the first time. Good place when it opened but downhill since.

The staff is very knowledgeable. I brought my beater of a car in to get supplies probably twice or three times a week and they helped me find whatever I needed and answered most questions I had about my car.

Good parts, poor service. There is a big disconnect and random inconsistent help. Parts can not be located. You order, they call and when you come they can not find it. You would think that after 3 trips they compensate or at the least apologize. No such thing. Looking for new supplier.

Gone down hill. My last visit Heather put commercial customer aside answered the phone and Made us continue waiting as she was helping phone customers. I wouldn't care if she was not already in the midst of helping us. The phone call came after she started helping us.

I ordered a specific can of paint, I waited 4 days for a call that never came.... When I called them I was told it was already sent back to Indy, and they didn't know why I wasn't called. I waited for nothing.... Never again Oreilly...
