I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Global Auto Recycling! I needed to have two of my cars salvaged, which can often be a stressful and confusing process. However, Francisco and Joe made the entire experience seamless and, most importantly, trustworthy. I set up two separate appointments, and they were professional, punctual, and transparent from start to finish. It is hard to find honest people in the auto industry, but Francisco and Joe are truly top-notch. They handled everything efficiently, making sure all my questions were answered. I have been shopping at Global for 20 years. Throughout the years they have consistently had the part. Made any failed part right via warranty and been great to deal with. Understand they are a locally owned salvage yard and there is a limit to history they have on the units they stock. I have had parts fail but Joey and his team always make it right. Even though I have moved away from Elgin I continue to go back and do business with them because I trust them to always make it work.

I work for a salvage yard in another state. We ordered a transmission on the 1st, gave a PO on the second per our messages on car-part messaging. The guy who answered and didn't give a name, told me we ordered it on the 5th. No sir. We ordered it on the 2nd when you got the PO in messenger. It's been almost two weeks and we've repeatedly tried to get a tracking number for the last week. You call and they put you on hold repeatedly, accuse you of being rude for wanting a tracking number they charged your card for, and refuse to give a tracking number. They won't answer messages either. They have hung up on the owner, the sales person, and me (the bookkeeper). They are rude, unprofessional, and will only give you the runaround. Do NOT order any part from them. Read the reviews and you'll have your answer. Most unprofessional place we've done business with in my 20 years of working in this industry.

Ordered a tail light, shipping to Canada was super fast and I'm happy with the price for an OEM part . Cables were neatly zip tied and it took less than 5 minutes to swap out the old part. Thanks again :)

They suck at how they deal with people on the phone calls. The dude was so easy to get upset and I couldn’t hear what he was saying properly. But whoever answers the phones there needs training.

After reading all negative reviews and being an older women with minimal knowledge about cars, I had slight anxiety before entering this place on Saturday morning. I was ready for the eye rolling and attitude, but I got very surprised. Joe and the older gentleman in the office were very busy, but at the same time very attentive, polite, efficient and pleasant to deal with. I paid for the part and was told to wait in my car 25 minutes. So I did, and 30 min later a very nice polite man by the name Sini brought this heavy part (rear differential)to my car. I had lined the bottom of my car trunk with yard waist bags for protection, but Sini said the fluid from the part may leak through them, so he went and got floor mat from one of the junked cars and placed it under the part. I was very impressed with how fast and efficient the whole process was and how professional, carrying and helpful the entire staff was. When I brough the part home, my son said the part was in very good condition and the price was very fair. Thank you guys for excellent and honest service!

This place is a damn mess. Called and said they had the part. So I went following day and the guy stated it would take some time to get it off. He gave me a card and told me to call back in a hr. Call bk in a hr and it was nothing but a run around. Then I call he said call back. JOEY said call in the morning the part should be ready. They kept sending my calls to VM. Call from a different number and they answer. They said it wont be ready till Monday. They are very unorganized very unprofessional and very rude. Even the 2 owners are rude. JOEY was his name. Including all of the people that do customer service. Just all the way around bad experience. Never again. Not worth the time or my money. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

One of worst experiences that we had ..the guy is very rude and Huge Liar ..we called him many times to know about the bumper but he kept giving us runaround..we as small business owner are very unhappy with them..cannot rely on them pls contact other junkyards before you contact them they give wrong information on car-part and then give you run around..service is extremely terrible and later their employees will post good reviews about the business..all in all terrible service and wouldn't recommend anyone to them specially small business owners ..

Worst business ever. Got two hemi engines, both were junk,even though they said they were running. We drove three times, from Wisconsin, because they would not compromise on picking the engine up for a refund,and it wasted a total of 16 hours driving time, and poor attitudes on their end. Will never do business with them again!

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about. The people who complained about attitudes probably have never dealt with people who work in trades. This is how they talk because they deal with a whole lot of bs from customers. The guy working alone in the office on Saturday was very busy but remained calm through all of it. The part we received (a trim piece) was in good condition overall. No complaints from my end. The only complaint I have is that just one guy working the office on a Saturday is rough. Give that guy some help. He's not complaining, he was fine. So I'm complaining for him. The people talking about this place being a scam probably should lower their expectations when talking about buying moving parts from an auto recycling place. The fact they even offer a warranty for those parts is kind of crazy.

Let me be perfectly clear: this is not just a bad review; this is a warning. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Save your money, your time, and, most importantly, your mental well-being. From the very first interaction, it was blatantly obvious that l, as a paying customer, was nothing more than an inconvenience to every single person working there. The so-called "customer service" is a sick joke. The employees are not just incompetent; they are openly hostile, rude, and possess a level of arrogance that is staggering considering they clearly don't know the first thing about their jobs. I have never in my life been treated with such utter contempt. The way they spoke to me, the dismissive gestures, the rolled eyes-was made to feel like absolute garbage. Like I was dirt on the bottom of their shoe for daring to ask a simple question about the defective, pathetic-quality parts they had the nerve to charge me for. And speaking of the parts-they are JUNK. Pure and simple. They arrived with obvious defects, scratches, and clearly weren't manufactured to any reasonable standard. It's an insult that this company thinks it can peddle this garbage to the public. But the absolute most infuriating part of this nightmare was the complete and total refusal to take any accountability. When I tried to address the issues, I was met with a wall of blank stares, shoulder shrugs, and a circular runaround that would make your head spin. Not one person had the spine or the decency to say, "I'm sorry, we messed up." Instead, it was a chorus of "not my department," "not my problem," and "there's nothing we can do." You all take a paycheck for what? To stand around and demonstrate your profound lack of skill and basic human respect? I am beyond disappointed. I am enraged. I am filled with a deep, seething resentment for wasting my time and money on this pathetic operation. I genuinely hope that the people responsible for this travesty of service experience the exact same level of contempt and disrespect in their own lives that they showed me. I hope every coffee they order is cold, every call they make is disconnected, and every time they need help, they are met with the same vacant, useless stares they gave me. You deserve to be treated like the absolute dirt you treated me as. This company is a fraudulent, poorly-run scam. Avoid it like the plague.

He charged $1,450 for the transmission, but the transmission turned out to be defective and doesn’t work. For two weeks, he kept deceiving us, saying he would give us a new transmission. Instead of apologizing, his employees spoke rudely. I do not recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely disappointing experience. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Whenever I asked a question, they responded with attitude and seemed completely uninterested in assisting. I would never go back and definitely do not recommend this place.

Pretty disappointing experience so far. Called, confirmed part was in stock and was told price with shipping. Provided email and was told invoice was on its way. Followed up when no invoice didn't arrive. Paid invoice Andaman used to receiving email of item shipment. Followed up, they hadn't shipped but was told it would go out that day. Didn't arrive the day it should have so followed up the following day to obtain tracking. They told me tracking was on its way to email. All day...nothing.

The owner was great and worked with us when the part given was wrong (2 similar parts side by side accidentally pulled the wrong one) when we got our replacement part it was broken and we pointed it out, they said it should be fine. We called back the next day and owner gave us a full refund and reprimanded the employee who gave the broken part. Wish we could have gotten the part we needed but dispite the issues we were impressed with the care and service given.

I went to Global Auto Recycling on Monday, June 2nd, looking for a specific part “the shocks and struts” for my vehicle. I showed them a picture of exactly what I needed. They told me they had it in stock and asked me to pay upfront $300 in cash and said everything would be ready for pickup at 9 AM the next day. I showed up Tuesday at 9 AM, but they kept telling me “we’re working on it.” I waited outside until 2 PM and still left empty-handed. The next day, I called first to confirm it was ready, and they said yes. When I got there, they gave me something completely different, the full suspension system including the control arm, knuckle, hub and axle everything except what I originally asked for: the shocks and struts. They told me to come back at 1 PM. This time, they finally had the shocks, but one of them was broken. I pointed it out, and they promised to get another one within an hour or else give me a full refund. I waited again, and they failed to find the right part. In the end, instead of full refund I got: • A $150 store credit • $75 cash refund • And shock that is of no use to me So I basically lost $300 on parts I never asked for and can’t use. They are refusing to take it back. Avoid paying in cash. Use a credit card so you can dispute the charge if something like this happens. Worst customer service I’ve dealt with. I’d like the owner to reach out and make this right. This was a completely unacceptable experience. Do Not go there and waste your time and money.

Please be aware! These people 100% will scam you. I bought a part from them when I went to pick it up paid for it than after they brought it to me found out it’s not the same part I needed told them I don’t want it. They said no money back credit only. Why? Don’t give them mony before making sure it’s the correct part and they are rude to customers.

I had a terrible experience. I went in to purchase a rack and pinion for my car on Friday (5/16). the boss tells me it was still bolted into the car and asked if I paid upfront it will be ready on Monday (5/19). Here comes Monday I call to see if its ready told me no it will be ready Tuesday morning. I assumed okay it Wednesday it has to be ready by now right? I come in to pick up the part. The boss tells me okay sit in your car for 10-15 mins it should be right out. I waited almost an hour only to find out these guys were still unbolting the part from the car ( I was clearly lied to). I had to leave and pick up another date. I come the Friday (5/23) only to find out the rack they pulled out was defective and leaking from shaft. One of the workers though I was some moron trying to convince me if I change boot it will be fine. Clearly can see power steering leaking from the shaft (IT WAS THE REASON I AM REPLACING MINE IN THE FIRST PLACE!) The boss told me okay I will have a replacement ready for you following day Saturday (5/24). I call before going only to be told they are still working on removing it. I told them to call me when its ready. It now Tuesday 5/27 and received no call. I guess im out what I paid for. I have been very patient with them and they screwed me. I will never do business with these guys again. Buyer beware if you must buy from them NEVER I repeat NEVER pay up front because once you pay it doesn’t matter to them anymore. Pay after they have removed part and you fully inspect it. I had to learn this lesson the hard way.

I'm genuinely surprised they're still in business. When I first inquired about an engine, I was told it was so clean it was sitting on their showroom floor. The very next day, when I called to pay, they told me they needed two days to pull it out of a car. I went ahead and ordered the engine anyway, with a promise of delivery within two days. It’s now been three weeks—still no engine. Every time I call, I get the same story: “It'll be delivered tomorrow.” Completely unprofessional. Don’t waste your time with this company.

I am not sure where these low reviews came from, but it is probably one of the most well run Auto recyclers I have been to. The guys behind the desk are super knowledgable, they are fast and good at what they do! They guys in the yard are also fast and customer focused! I got the right part, with a smile at a very fair price!!

I highly recommend you don't shop with this company. They lie. They will curse you out and hang up on their customers.. I paid 2100 for an engine that was not efficient. I called within warranty and have been waiting for months for my money back or a new engine. I have text messages pictures and voice recordings of the lies they told me. I now have a lawsuit in order. Worst money I've ever spent. Don't believe these scammers. I've been more than patient!!

Worst customer service experience ever. I called yesterday about a part, and the person I spoke with took my info, said they’d check availability, and call me back. No surprise—they never called back. I called again this morning, spoke to someone else who confirmed they had the part and told me to come pick it up at 10:30. You guessed it—when my employee arrived, they said they didn’t have the part. I called them back, and now they’re saying, “Pay now, and we’ll have the part ready for pickup in two days.” This isn’t even the first time. The first time I dealt with them, I called ahead to confirm they had a part in stock. They said yes, so we went to pick it up. After we paid, they suddenly told us the part would be ready in an hour. My guy had to sit around and wait. If you actually need to get work done, avoid them.

Bought an engine only to be later told I didn't pay taxes on? Reputable auto service(Shelby's) said oil pan had hole, two misfires, etc. Drove 250 miles to exchange just to be denied without core-which should have been due upon initial delivery. Had to double back just for their choice of a gunk-filled replacement with damaged valve cover and more. Poor parts. Poor customer service. Absolute junk! Do not patronize. Had to warranty an engine as the first one was burning oil almost as bad as the one I was originally replacing. Joe was wonderful through the process and there was no hitch in getting a replacement and returning the engine. Not burning oil anymore! Only thing you guys get 4 stars for instead of 5 is the co-worker dynamic. Every time I've called or been there it seems like I'm walking into a house of a dysfunctional family. Everyone yelling at each other, always feel like I'm about to witness a worldstar moment. Entertaining in its own way I suppose but kind of off-putting.
