We had a brake issue while visiting Galena recently and upon walking in at opening time they put auto up on rack asap to assess brake pads. We trusted them and appreciated them working us in. They provided options (quote etc) within 30mins. Highly recommend.
My splash shield came loose while I was visiting Galena and they got me in and taken care of immediately!! Everyone was so nice and professional. I highly recommend!
This shop is the best in the whole state called everywhere to get a rear main seal done and this was the only shop that could do it and they did amazing thank you Mitchell and Nikki (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) yall are amazing very professional and I’ll always recommend this shop.
If i could give them zero stars i would. Temperley auto in galena put a new motor in my car and it made knocking noises after, I stopped in and everytime the noise would stop. They also messed up the alignment and told me I could come back and they would fix it. I had no days off and I had to use all my vacation to get the car fixed. They told me they don't work weekends and don't work late enough to do it after my job so I had to deal with the bad alignment ever since. Now my 2nd motor has most likely blown as they scanned my car for motor knock sensor. They told me they couldn't work on it because they didn't know exactly what was wrong and to call hyundai and have it towed. I called lined up a tow to hyundai in dubuque yesterday. Called temperley and they said that's fine they'll give guy's trucking the keys and have it towed to hyundai by 3 tomorrow meaning today now. I get a voicemail shortly before lunch from temperly telling me they wouldn't let them tow my vehicle until I pay my bill. Which they could have had me do yesterday. Now I'm trying to call them and their phone is off. The last thing I wanted to do was complain, but I feel like something has to be done about this place
I can't tell you how relieved I am to have found these lovely people. I had two warning lights going off and something was beeping at me. I'm on disability and a limited income so when something happens to my car it's a huge stressor and the other guy in town looks like he's aggravated that he has to deal with me and my car, so I dread going there. EVERYONE at Temperly Auto is kind, professional and courteous. They were incredibly reassuring AND took care of the problem affordably and quickly. When I mentioned a problem with a loose back panel, they took an extra 30 minutes to secure it and repair a wire without even charging me. In this climate of dwindling customer service, it's such a relief and pleasure to experience warm and personable civility in such a stressful situation. I will be recommending them to everyone I know!
My mother and 2 friends where on their way to visit another friend in Iowa and had a lower air detector fall off and was dragging the ground. These great people got her in and out and thanked them for stopping by and did it for nothing. These are the people I Want to meet when I break down on my vacation. This is coming from another shop that does the same thing. I help out the people that need it and make them feel like a valued customer even if it is for something simple like the valance falling off. I am great full for them helping my mom out. Thanks again

They are a very nice group of people to work with. I had my brakes replaced and they let me know of a couple other problems with the car. The car is much safer now.
Traveling from out of state and low tire pressure light came on unexpectedly. Brought the car into Temperly and the woman at the front desk was very pleasant and had a very nice mechanic check the tires, fill them with air, and we were on the road home in less than 15 minutes. Thank You!
On our way home on October 5th at 11 AM I noticed that the tire light on the Prius had come on. I had just purchased new tires, so I was puzzled. I pulled up outside of the bay and asked one of the techs for help (I wish I had the young man's name). He told me to pull outside the end of the last bay. He proceeded to inspect each tire and gauged the pressure. Then he made sure they had proper inflation in front and back tires. He thought that should take care of the problem. It did! We safely made our trip home to Canton, IL. He refused to take anything for performing that service!!! Didn't know old fashioned service was still around!!! Thank you young man and thank you Temperly Auto Repair!! I highly recommend them!
Honest, good hearted, hard working people who keep the customer in mind. They do almost any work with a positive attitude and are very thorough and precise. This is the only place Id give my car to repair as I can guarantee to be treated with decency, respect, and all repairs I need done will be done correctly with the best quality. They also do exhaust work which is hard to find quality custom made exhaust. Also theyre across from Happy Joes so i can get lunch while my car is repaired or meet a friend for lunch and get a ride! Win Win!
I took my Equinox to Temperly, putting a $1,500 cap on repairs. After "completion," I paid $1,508. When I started to drive away, all of the engine lights came on that had came on BEFORE I took it in to have it fixed! I turned around, took my Equinox back in and asked how ALL of my lights were coming back on AFTER it had supposedly repaired. The receptionist called me later in the day to apologize that the Equinox needed more parts that they didn't notice the first time. Also, thete were repairs listed that were SUPPOSED to have been done that didn't get done. So, ANOTHER $798+ dollars and DAYS later, I've finally got my vehicle. Seems to run great now, but for the price... If you are visiting Gelena and NEED your vehicle repaired, I'd not recommend Temperly. Don't get caught in a "tourist trap" and have to pay those prices when there are numerous, cheaper and just as qualified mechanics around the area. Temperly has a 5 star review...from 4 people! Family members...? Good lyck.
This place!! We had a flat tire a couple miles outside of Galena and found Leibold from a google search. They were amazing and patched out tire while we had lunch. Saved our trip and made what I thought was going to be a big hiccup, a small one.
My car broke down driving through Galena. I called to see if they could fix it and they got it to the shop and within an hour had the problem figured out. Their fast friendly and professional service saved me time and money!! I will definitely drive the extra 30 miles just to use them in the future!!
My husband and I came into town looking forward to a few days of R&R when our truck started acting off. We are so happy that we came across this place, not only were they so nice and caring they immediately stopped what they were doing and helped fix the problem. They did not charge us for the quick fix and reassured us everything was fine. We ended up having a great time in Galena and made some friends along the way. Stop in and see Nico.. the shop pup! Check engine light started flashing as we arrived in Galena. Couldn’t drive the car home but they fit us in on a Monday so we could still make the drive home the day we needed to! Another business in town wouldn’t look at our car for an entire week but they squeezed us in with their compassion. So appreciate their help!
I got a massive hole in my tire on my way to work in galena. They not only stayed open after hours for me, but it wasn’t nearly as expensive as I expected! They went above and beyond expectations. Will definitely be coming back!

I had a tire with a slow leak. I made an appointment and in less than an hour, my tire was checked, repaired with a patch and new valve, and I was back on the road. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Fairly new in the area only know where to eat or find an old hinge or doorknob thingy in town. Glad I found these folks.
The experience with Liebold was just what i'd hope for anywhere, very friendly, very accommodating and very professional. They explained everything that was needed, and advised me of anything that might be developing bad like a water pump that was rattling.
