Able to get timely appointments. Communication and transparency are solid. Tim is a great guy to deal with. Crossed over from Casey’s about a year ago and have been happy with the shift.
I’ve taken my vehicle here for numerous things from new brakes to a simple oil change and I have had nothing but a good experience.
The team is very communicative, extremely friendly and timely with their work. For my most recent visit we had a longer list of items to get done and they called me daily to provide updates on when the vehicle would be ready.
I have never felt like their team has pushed me to do any service and they have always explained to me fully the options presented, which as a younger women is just about never the case at an auto shop.
I will go out of my way in the future to make sure this is the only business I go to in the future for every and all vehicle needs.

Wanted to check the suspension components on my truck for wear, especially since this can affect the front tire wear. The facility was able to get me an appointment the next day. They did their inspection and provided me with a report. Exactly what I was looking for. The cost was minimal.

Tim and Noel are awesome they explained I needed new suspension control arms. Noel showed me the arms and explained what they do. They were corroded and brittle. I had disappearing and Noel advised the heater core needed replacing and now no issues and I can feel the difference in the heater. I am grateful to both Tim and Noel for the excellent service. If you need repairs go to Advance Auto on Colfax in Palatine and see Tim and Noel. They are knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and fast. The repairs took a day and I was shocked normal repair shops take their time but these guys work fast to get you back on the road.

I had my 2014 Porsche Boxster S serviced here at Advanced Auto for an annual oil change and was very pleased with the entire experience. The team is very friendly and do a terrific job at communicating any other mechanical issues they discover when servicing your vehicle. Got my alignment done here on my lowered car and got it driving perfectly straight. Came to me showing the measurements and asked what I was looking for and they got it perfect! Highly recommend anyone to come here for an alignment lowered or not, did a great job!
Mechanic did not do a proper job, said it was done, it wasn't. He had to complete the job and still didn't do it properly. Complained it was too difficult. It was a simple alignment. I was told next time they have to charge by the hour because it was too much work. Funny, they didn't even do a thorough job to begin with. The mechanic didn't even check the suspension to find out if an alignment could be done. He just did the minimum and said it was done expecting I wouldn't know the difference. The Fact that the "mechanic" didnt inspect the suspension prior to doing the work is evidence of carelessness. A proper alignment CAN NOT be done when a car has worn suspension parts. The "aftermarket" parts would have been seen if he did his job properly! The parts added to the suspension makes it EASIER to do the alignment, are very easy to reach even with the wheels on and not on a lift. It only took more time because he wasnt able to get it in and out as fast as possible. This was a complete lack of care and an unprofessional job. He was angry he had to align the rear thats all. No apology for not even looking at the rear. He said he never heard of anyone having an adjustable rear camber on this model car which is a very poor excuse for unprofessional work. I will never spend another cent at this place. Ill trust a guy in his back yard before I trust this place.
Last week as I was preparing to go out of town my oil burning Sonata fouled plugs again. I went to Advanced at 4:30 and Tim came to rescue by getting me in first thing next morning and out by 9:30 (oil, plugs and flush+ system checks). Thanks to Tim's team for getting me on the right on schedule.
I took my modified Lexus GS430 here for an alignment. I've had a ton of trouble finding a shop in Chicagoland to properly align this car - it has many adjustable parts and every place I've gone to has left the steering a touch crooked, it would pull to one side, etc.
Noel @ Advanced Auto clearly knows what he's doing. Dialed it in and got it perfect on the first try, car rides like it's on rails and feels perfect.

Very professional and friendly service. The seat (motor) part I needed was quite expensive but they figured out a work around to allow me to drive; they did a manual adjustment of the seat while I was seated and it's working great. They kept me informed every step of the way.
Worst experience ever. I wanted to get an alignment done since the reviews were good. I had recently installed new sport control arms and other sport suspension components, so there should have been no problem — just an alignment and that’s it. After leaving the shop, I noticed something was not right. The rear left suspension was loud, and I could hear a knocking noise and the steering was not right, it was shaking a bit. It turned out that they had forgotten to bolt one of the control arms, which could have led to a serious accident. I would not recommend them. I would rather go to Firestone; they do a better job.
This is a photo of my 2013 Honda pilot which is a work horse.. I could feel in the ride last couple months things out of sorts ..by Ia recommendation I was told that I should go to Advance Auto on Colfax in Palatine.. I went in on the morning and conversation with Tim at the desk I gave him a list of what I felt were probably necessary from neglect. Brakes, pads , rotors, possibly shocks , oil filter dirty.., etc. Yes, all those things came into play plus a few more items . We upgraded my brakes for a more sustainable brakes that won’t become so corrosive in time., My bill was so much less then expected , really.. told my neighbor and he totally agreed. Now to the ride.. .. , really I left Advance auto and maybe about 10 minutes from the shop and driving all of a sudden , true story,.., couldn’t believe I was in the same car. it was an amazing smooth ride and had so much energy and when I pressed on the accelerator, I thought is this my car the power behind my wheel was amazing…. really impressive.. “STOP” looking for car repair is a one stop shop. Kudos,, go out to Nole , who worked on my Honda.. and brought back to what it should be..
Great customer service and fair pricing! My recent visit was my second time returning for a brake job. Tim whom helped me from the beginning to the end of my service was awesome. I would definitely return and continue to have my Audi worked on. I recommend anyone who is looking for service to give them a try!
I brought my Hyundai Santa Fe in the shop for some spark plug replacement work. Jay was very nice to work with on this appointment. He took the time to discuss options, and he answered all of my questions. The price was also attractive, good value.
My husband had been taking our vehicles here for a very long time. He knew the owners well and they knew our vehicles and maintained them meticulously. The business sold and my husband passed away suddenly. I was anxious about taking my car in to the new owners and staff. That was a waste of my time. Everyone is wonderful! They understood that I had not handled maintenance on my car, they were kind, patient and everything I could have hoped for! Jay and Tim took the time to explain the work being done. They let me know that they would be there to help me with this new responsibility. I am thrilled that our old repair shop is now my new repair shop. New owners are great. The atmosphere is more pleasing than with previous owners - it use to feel like walking in to a boys club- not any more. Thank you so much just for that. Nice and clean. Went in for oil change on 10+ year car with one minor concern. They took a look at the issue which ended up being a non-issue and gave us what to expect at 100,000 mile point to keep car running. The estimate will help plan the expense so no surprises (hopefully) going forward on basic maintenance. Jay explained issues so well that you feel like you are definitely part of the decision making process. Definitely recommend!!!!!
