All Metal provides the best rates for recycled scrap in the Chicago area. I drop off everything from wiring to siding and other materials after demo projects. It was certainly worth my time to go to Franklin Park. Plus the staff is always super friendly and helpful.
This place is a scam. Stay away from here is the best advice I can offer.
Read the rest of the reviews and believe me everyone saying that the scale is fixed is right. I had 1 piece on my truck and saw the scale at over 6000 and when they gave me my ticket to get paid they told me the total weight of the scrap was 400 pounds. If it was 400 pounds me and my kid could have lifted this off ourselves. I was shorted by probably 500+ pounds.
Didn't feel like arguing. The 1 piece I had was hard enough to get on the truck with a short dock and the scrap was already in 4 inches of mud.
Take a pic of the scale for proof before you get off. Even better advice go to Cozzi in Melrose Park. They are indoors and you wont be standing in mud
This place needs better customer service. I was forced to wait by the drive on scale for 15 min. because the guy doesn't want to leave the shack or give directions on when to get on and off. Watched my weight on the scale going in and out and noticed they shorted me by about 300 lbs. Brought it up to the guys running payments and he told me "they don't make mistakes" without checking anything. I didn't care about the few extra bucks but it shows they don't care about screwing their customers to make an extra dollar.

The guy who answered should be patient with customers, all I did was reask what 3 in a half cents per pound means, not good customer service, you need patience and be able to respond politely to customer questions so you don't affect the business negatively.

Typically I get decent value and I visit 2-4 times a week and today I had a small amount of scrap wire which Typically is a30% copper value and I also threw in an old extension cord to get me enough to get me some gas and maybe a burger but they hurried me through and grouped the cord in with the low value wire. Extension cord is usually 45-50% copper value. So no cheezbrg for me today. I know I'm only bitchin about 3. Or 4 dollars but that's half of my current life savings and they wouldn't give me the time of day.
