First engine got beat on for 6 years. Just swapped in the next. Valves were mostly still in spec, cams looked good for 60,000ish miles, timing chain wasn't stretched. Fired right up, just need to pull a vacuum on the coolant and get it bled.
Purchased a transmission for a customer vehicle and it failed within a week. I contacted them about a refund and was told they would schedule for the part to be picked up. Transmission was never picked up and I called several times but I was told the employee helping me is out every time and no one else was able to help apparently.
I purchased a transmission from this seller on eBay, spending thousands of dollars on the part, shipping, and installation. After going through the costly process, I found out that the transmission was defective. When I contacted the seller to address the issue, they stopped communicating entirely and refused to offer any kind of refund or resolution.
What makes this worse is they do not test their transmissions before selling them, which is a huge red flag for any buyer. This seller is clearly scamming people and should be avoided at all costs. Buyers, be warned—stay away from this seller on eBay!

Chicago JDM Auto Parts is the best. It’s a little challenging to find JDM parts in the Midwest but this is my go to establishment. One of the managers, James is super helpful and another amazing car guy. I recently purchased some JDM euro R accord seats and they were perfect for my TSX build. I highly recommend them for anything JDM (motors, accessories, interior parts, etc). I will use them again for my civic project and can’t recommend any other place then Chicago JDM.
They lie about the compression test. Got an engine from here and supposedly it had 140+ compression across the board and when we checked only one of them had 140 the other 5 cylinders had 80 - 90psi. Also the coolant was mixing with the oil so it had a bad head gasket aswell. The car never touched the ground we found all this out as soon as we started the engine. We were documenting everything, we have video prof. We contacted the owner so he could make it right after the phone call that we had he told us to send him the invoice receipt and when we did he block my number. I would never come back here again. If you are buying an engine from here make sure they do the compression test in front of you.
I got a motor from them. I didn’t get to install it until after the 30 day warranty.
The motor has low compression 5 out of 6 cylinders and blown headgasket. Owner said he can’t do nothing about it $1700 down the drain
Started out great. Ordered s transmission from them with a 90 day warranty on a Saturday and received it the next Thursday. Swapped it out and on test drive it threw a code for the lock up converter. After some testing I found that the valve body and harness was different along with a shutter at low speeds. I talked to them and explained that I wanted a refund and would send it back. They agreed and emailed me the bill of lading info and said my card would be issued a refund after they received the transmission. Within a half hr of receiving the email a company was there to pick it up on a Tuesday. I was thinking this is great. I called them the folling Saturday and they verified they recieved it and would issue my refund in 3 to 5 days. Waited and no refund. Called and was told "oh my manager didnt do it?I will take care of it."
Long story after 6 weeks 7 phone calls and being told we dont know how to refund your money I said send a check. I want my 1272.68 back. Was told I will send a check today. Still no refund or check 2 weeks after that.
Was lied to about everyrhing except shipping info.
These are photos of my Prius engine getting delivered. I put it in at 230000 miles on my car now I’m at 390000 on the jdm engine running great no burning oil. I’m not a mechanic just watched YouTube video and borrowed a hoist. Took one full day to install 12 hours 2 guys best move ever.
Before purchasing a manual awd transmission from this business, i called them and asked will this fit and be compatible with my car. I was assured yes! it is the right one and you should have no problems.
So i pulled the trigger and bought a manual awd transmission for 1195 through their eBay listings.
The transmission isnt compatible without modifications and/or a Ktuner. When i expressed this to the same person who had been helping me all along, he said, let me talk to the boss....and that was the last i heard from them.
I was never given paperwork verifying that the transmission i purchased was the same that was sent, no serial numbers, no nothing...not even a real receipt.
When it arrived to my transmission shop there was no delivery receipt and the shop owner says he didnt even have to sign for it.
So i was sent a transmission i can't even verify is the one i purchased and JDM Chicago went ghost on me.
Horrible business practices.
I still need a transmission that works with my car and i'm out over $1400 already. Thanks for the joyride, JDM Chicago. I won't be recommending your business to any of the 15,000+ members of my car club.
Purchased several engines and transmissions here. They always do their best to provide excellent customer service. Even if there is an issue with one of the products They help you out to make it right.
Called the place before I went there asked specifically if they had a 02-05 wrx manual drive shaft and made sure that he knew there was a difference between the auto and the manual. He said yes they have some. So I told him I'd be there in a bit. I drove 40 min to the shop. They Didn't have any of the Subaru drive shafts pulled out. Then after about 15 min of him looking through the driveshafts they didn't even have the right one. So needless to say I wasted over an hour's worth of driving and time to get nothing when all they could have said is let me check and get back to you.
Purchased a motor from them on 10/28/2017 asked them if it was compression tested they said yes, installed it into my vehicle. We could not get the vehicle to turn over. We double checked everything. We finally did a compression test to see if the motor was any good. It failed. It was only able to get up to 20lbs of compression. Called them and they said there nothing they can do. It’s after the 30 day mark. Good luck buying a motor from here. The best thing I can tell you is have them do the compression test in front of you for you can see that it holds compression if not don’t purchase a motor from them. Good luck they took my $605.00.
Great place to buy a JDM engine from. Bought 2 engines and did not have any problem with any of them. Don't know why these individuals are leaving bad reviews . Awesome guys. Will buy from them again.

Have to say dealing with this company was the biggest headache, I have ever had. language barrier was the least of my problems. They have a lot of motors in stock, only god knows how many of them are runners. They sold me the motor telling me good compression, motor did not run and they would not honor their 30 day warranty.

This place is nice, they have every Japanese motor you can think of, it's a jdm enthusiasts heaven. They have great prices and load the motor into your car for you. 5 stars all the way.

We purchased and installed a used engine on 8/15/16. TOTAL GARBAGE MOTOR. Car could not be driven or it would overheat. Coolant is getting past the cylinders on the left side, no compression in cylinders 2 & 4, and very weak compression in cylinders 1 & 3. It took 11 weeks for Chicago JDM to allow the engine to be dropped off for repair - after giving us the obvious run-around by lying, delaying, dodging, and not returning phone calls. We had to go to pickup the engine a week later and be further inconvenienced. Upon installation the 2nd time, the engine wanted to overheat just as severely. We were told the piston rings & head gaskets were fried and the shop they hired for the repair told us the motor was "junk" and they didn;t know why Chicago JDM was selling it to begin with. It obviously has waayy over 60k miles on it. Now, 4 months later, Chicago JDM is STILL refusing to honor their waranty. UPDATE 2/23/17: 6 months later my car is still SITTING at the shop and they refuse to fix it
I bought a motor from them a couple weeks ago and the head on that motor is not getting any oil. They were making excuses saying that the swap was not done right. Do not trust these guys.
