My car got a blow out tire problem, Scott helped me get auto back to better shape. The cost was more reasonable than other auto repair shops & he said would work with me on my next auto repair.I definitely will take my car to his shop for the next repair.
I have had Scott work on my cars regularly for the last several years (as well as the last several cars). He is great at what he does, treats people with respect and is someone I trust. Pricing is good, he uses appropriate parts and has earned the business of my whole family. His time is valuable and he deserves a call to cancel just like any professional.

I remember my first exposure to the owner of this place. It happened by me first calling him to ask him an opinion about something mechanical. I mentioned another mechanic pretty much immediately into the conversation, and let's just say that he didn't have anything pleasant to say about that mechanic. He used profanity to describe his disdain for the other mechanic. I should have pretty much forgotten about this man after that first interaction. Sometime down the line after that first conversation, I called them to ask him about a major issue that I have with my vehicle. At that point he was quite communicative, and gave his professional opinion over the phone about my predicament. We talked about bringing my vehicle over and basically set an appointment, I guess. Things in life began to happen that led to me not being able to take my vehicle to him. I thought nothing of it, and I kept moving forward dealing with other things that basically took precedence. I went to him earlier today October 4th 2024. I spontaneously stopped at his shop and I walked in and introduced myself. The first words out of his mouth were, you're the one that missed your appointment. That's how he remembered me. I told him hey things happen and I have sicknesses in my family that I tended to. He kept going on and on about missing the appointment, setting aside time for his mechanics to aid with the appointment that I missed, and apparently referencing having lost time and money from me not making an appointment. That's all he remembered, and that's all he focused on. Instead of letting it go, and focusing on that moment, me walking in his shop, he preferred instead to have attitude. Basically giving up money, the potential of making money, and doing good business during one of the worst economic times as a result of this fake administration that we have in Washington. This guy must be making great money. He has a really bad attitude, and an unfortunate chip on his shoulder. I walked out. I would never give my business to a person like this ever. Zero class. Don't ever get on his bad side, because like a woman scorned, he'll remind you of it for the rest of your life.
Thankfully this place WILL NEVER see a dime of my money.
Great place,I had a coupon for another place for oil change , they said I needed brakes,came to Scotty, they check and I didn't need them , no charge for checking,so honest, will never go anywhere else,
I have worked with Scott and Forest automotive for almost 30 years. Scott is very professional and knowledgeable and provides mechanical service at a fair price. He is also friendly and kind and has offered me good advice About the care of my cars through the years. For an example, my daughter, who lives in Colorado, was in a bad car accident. I asked Scott for advice, and he helped my daughter through the car insurance questions about having a car totaled.

Great place went in when my car was making a noise couldn't figure out what was going on I knew it had something to do with the tires come to find out car dealer did a rotation on on my tires did not put two of my lug nuts on and 3 of them where loose great job Scott and your team thank you thank you thank you probably saved my life the price was very reasonable all I can do is praise you guys awesome work see you soon Regina

Excellent down-to-earth prompt and friendly service. I found Forest Automotive shortly after moving to Forest Park in 2014 and would recommend anyone to this auto shop. I felt like they've always been totally upfront and fair and have always done great work.
Scotty and team do quality, timely work at fair prices. One of the best around! Several times they have saved me both time and money.

The first time I came here I was pretty upset about the quality of service. If I recall, they had a bad mechanic who no longer works here.

I have been taking my car here for the past year for maintenance and some minor repairs. The prices are fair and the service is good. I have been happy with everything they have done for me.
I went here based on the seemingly all-positive reviews, but ended up being charged far more than I was quoted elsewhere on a pretty basic brake job. Let this be a lesson for anyone else searching for an "honest mechanic" - shop around and have a couple of competing quotes BEFORE committing to the work. Will not be taking my business back there again.
Scott, John and the guys have saved me from foolish decisions, saved me $ and kept my cars running beautifully for more than a decade. I recommend them to anyone. I still take my cars there and I live 20 miles away! Nobody touches my car except Forest Automotive!
All I have to say is WOW!! I worked with Scott, the owner, and he was amazing. I'm from Minneapolis, MN and was looking to buy a truck located in Chicago. Based on the reviews he had, I picked his shop to do a "pre-purchase" inspection... sure glad I did. Before even looking at the vehicle, he was up-front and honest about his opinions of the dealership I was buying from, and things to be careful of in advance. He looked through the truck, and noticed a few things I never would have found myself. He really took the time to talk to me about everything, didn't rush me to get off the phone, and made sure I didn't have any questions. And to top it all off, he charged me such an awesome price, I almost feel guilty. Since I'm 6 hours away, I'll never be a regular customer of his, but he treated very well regardless. If I lived closer, you can absolutely know that I would make Scott and Forest Automotive my mechanic and would never bring my vehicles anywhere else.
I've had two experiences with this shop. Both were FABULOUS. With the first experience, they came to my house to get the keys from my wife (our car wouldn't start) because we have children, and sometimes it's hard to get away. Talk about customer service! With the second experience, they spent time diagnosing a faulty ignition coil. That coil was under warranty with another shop, so I took it to the other shop. I paid Forest Automotive the diagnostic fee, which I expected to pay (they put in time, after all). The other shop came up with a different diagnosis. When I called Forest Automotive to tell them this, they said they stood by their diagnosis, but they offered to refund the entire diagnostic fee anyway. I offered to split the difference, but they insisted that they refund the entire fee. That's integrity, and integrity is probably the most important quality of a mechanic. Forest Automotive will definitely be getting our business in the future!
