I was impressed with that Carmax and visited the one here when I needed a carmax Kia but they did not have what I was looking for. I'd been to the Boise Carmax a few months ago with my son. Seemed like a fair and painless process. I went in to the Boise Carmax on Thursday to get an appraisal on my old pickup. The staff was super. Aliya made the process smooth and easy and I got a fair offer. My wife was needed for signatures to complete the process, so we came back Friday. We also brought our old Subaru for appraisal. Aron got us finished us through the truck process, then the Subaru, as well. Saturday, my wife decided she was interested in a Hyundai Tucson Nline on the Carmax lot. Off we went to Boise Carmax, third day in a row. Greeted by Max at the door, but he was off the hook, my wife saw Aron and recognized him. The test drive sold her on the Hyundai. I had other things to do and left her in Aron's care to appraise her 4Runner. So, back we went on Sunday to close the deal and ambush Max. He was great! I give the staff 5 stars! The processes seem a bit slow at times. But, consider all the legalities, etc. involved with vehicle sales and it's kinda to be expected. Carmax will be our first stop whenever we're selling or buying a vehicle! Thanks

When I’m looking to buy a car I hate being hassled by salesmen which is why I enjoy going to CarMax first. The young lady (name started with an A but I can’t remember her full name) who assisted me with finding my car was very polite, patient, and professional and eager to help however she could. During my test drive of my 2020 Lincoln Corsair she provided me very good information about the vehicle without even needing to ask. Unfortunately she was unavailable when I came back the next day to purchase it but I was very happy with the service she provided me and would be happy to come back in the future.

CarMax made the purchase of my current vehicle efficient and painless. I was able to find what I wanted by searching make, model, etc. even down to trim and very specific features. I paid the shipping and then was able to track the car’s progress to my local lot. I had two phone calls during the process to explain the next steps. Payment and pickup were fast. Very easy process to sell our old vehicle. Did the online offer, walked in, and even with the wait we were done in about 1.5hours working with Bianca. Process involved getting info from us, them test driving the car and doing the inspection to verify information, and then filling out the paperwork (car was fully paid off already, so that may have sped things up). They even got us a Lyft out of there so we didn't have to pay for one ourselves.

Had 3 cars that I was interested in… all 3 had some big problems. Staff was hit or miss. I had some nice and knowledgeable sales people and then I had to deal with 2 others that had no business being on the sales floor helping customers. One young lady was a complete sourpuss and the other was just really untrained. The 2 helpful people at the store located off of Fairview were Joe and Taylor! They were great. But I still ended up buying else where.

I’ve had a great experience with CarMax and each of the employees I’ve interacted with since my purchase. It was a smooth, no pressure buying experience. When I had some follow up items for my vehicle, everyone from the service department to the managers were thorough and quick to follow up with me. MY experience was absolutely horrible. Nothing about buying this car online was easy or even timely. After the long wait, the car arrived with an undisclosed ding. Everything took forever. Customer service was very poor. I had to call a million times and they wouldn't get back to me. I'm still waiting on the refund for the shipping cost after 16 days. I would never do this again!

I asked either for a spare key to get made or a price discount to purchase a 2nd key but they weren't willing to budge. I test drove one vehicle at this Carmax location, then scanned online for another of the same make/model with lower mileage and more specific features I wanted. Had it shipped (from a neighboring state), took it for an overnight test when it arrived, and had wrapped up a completed purchase about a week after I walked in the door for the first test drive. This process also involved a trade-in, for which the Carmax offer was several thousand above other trade-in offers (initially obtained online; the on-site inspection was quick and did not change the offer). All in all, I was able to purchase exactly the vehicle I was looking for, through a very smooth process with 0% of the usual aggravation baked into buying/selling/trading vehicles. I worked with a few representatives during this process; all were great and there were no handoff hangups.

I found an SUV I was interested in online at Carmax in Meridian….and after reading about the dealership and the “easy process of test driving and buying” at CarMax, I decided to schedule a Test-Drive appt online. Since I entered all of my info online, along with uploading my drivers license, I assumed when I got to the dealership for my 11 AM appt they’d have the car ready to be test driven. When I arrived at exactly 11 AM, they assigned me to meet with Max. Maybe it was an off day for him, but definitely not a good communicator. He went to look for the car we’d planned to test drive….and 20 minutes later we were still sitting at his table waiting. No idea what was taking him so long because he didn’t communicate with us at all. Definitely a complete waste of time, so we decided to just walk out. I’ve bought several cars & trucks over the years, and have never experienced anything like this. We will definitely not be going back to Carmax after a very disappointing experience here!!
