I would have given this ZERO stars were it possible. They have towed my daughter's car and are now holding it hostage. The price to get it to the original tow destination seems to change by the minute and there seems to be no way to resolve this. What they are doing is illegal in all 50 states, but getting assistance from anyone seems impossible. I would not allow these crooks to tow a Barbie Dream Car!! If indeed ASAP towing gets the car to its destination by Monday morning, I will let everyone who reads these reviews know that the problem has been resolved. $400 plus dollars later this company towed the car from a garage on 11th street to a repair service on Vista. What should have been finished on Friday was not completed until Saturday at 4:57 pm. The job was done at an atrocious price and quite frankly, we're getting our daughter a AAA membership for Christmas.
If I could give negative stars, I would. I don’t call this service directly, the arrangement was made through a roadside assistance that my mechanic recommended because of reimbursement. My car was parked in a downtown garage, which was very explicitly communicated to the roadside assistance company. The arrangement was made for the car to be towed between 9-10 am. I asked do I need be there and the answer was no. I asked if they needed any further information…no. Then while I’m out with my parents who are in from out of town, I get a call saying they need a key, so I leave breakfast and bring the key. When I spoke with the driver over then phone he said that they didn’t explain that it was in a garage but then saw my communication with the roadside assistance company that clearly stated it was in a garage and the exact address of the garage. He said he didn’t have the right truck to get it out of the garage and I offered to help push it out (it’s a manual transmission), which he declined. My dad and I were both there when we brought the key, nothing was said about needing help or getting another truck, just that he had a winch if necessary. So my dad and I went back for breakfast, at which point I get a call from the roadside assistance company saying that they had to get another truck and it will be another $70, which I balked at because their miscommunication in contrast to my very clear and explicit communication (and asking additional questions for the sake of due diligence), should not cost me extra money. You make the mistake, you eat it. She said she would have a superior call me, which didn’t happen (that part isn’t on ASAP’s service, I will give that grace). Eventually I get a text with ASAP’s number if I want to call and dispute it. Which I did. I was told that not only was the extra $75 on me but that if it wasn’t paid by end of business, my car would be impounded and storage fees would begin to accrue. Oh, and that I needed to pay yet another tow fee after that $75 to get it to the mechanic it was supposed to have already gone to. I’m a single mom and I manage a restaurant. Saying I live paycheck to paycheck is a diplomatic assessment of my current financial situation. There is a word for what they are doing, and that word is “extortion”. The best part is the business perverted said I brought they keys and just disappeared. So on top of being charged, was I supposed to stick around and do your job for you? Then I get arguments about how they could get out of the garage (I have a parking pass for the garage, the guy never asked me about it….yall do this for a living, this is your business….im not supposed to know everything about it while in duress, yall are supposed to know the inner workings of your own business….as the customer, it’s not on me to do your job FOR you.). I was irate. I said some choice words and hung up, but they essentially gave me by the short and curlies. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPEL IF YOU CAN AVOID IT! They charge you an arm and a leg for their own shortcomings and completely lack in the accountability department.
The owner locked my vehicle behind thier locked fence all weekend so I couldn't get my vehicle or belongings after he charged me for plugging in a diagnostic test instead of replacing my battery. Don't take your buisness here
I accidentally went in at 4:00 to pick up personal items from a towed car they were closed but they helped me out, not mentioning a charge. the next day i was surprised with a $50 charge. i was also told the daily storage rate was $25 but when the bill came it was $50. Very bad miscommunication.
Got a flat tire in Boise right as shops were starting to close on a Saturday. Called multiple companies, even used my roadside assistance but the provider was going to arrive 20 minutes after Discount tire would close. ASAP towing provided a faster response time. We had to adapt from a simple tire change to towing my vehicle. Operator was very willinging to help, and got me to the tireshop on time. Tow trucks are never "cheap", but the rate provided was really affordable given the circumstances. Driver was fast and friendly, definitely recommend this company.
I had them do my exhaust which consisted of 2 welds and 2 bolts. After 5 hours and 150.00 I finally got to drive my car away. They are very inconsiderate of their customers time. Not busy at all just super slow. The worker that was there said it was a 30 minute job yet I was there for 5 hours. I paid in cash and didn't even get the cash discount even though it was posted up on he wall. The time before that they put aa new starter in and after we the 3rd day and 275.00 later I finally got my car back. I won't be coming back for a 3rd time.
Waited nearly 2 hours after accident. $265 to haul my vehicle 10 miles to my house. The driver told me I could have gotten a faster, cheaper tow if I had called someone else.
The owner was amazing and helped us fix our problem and work with us when we were in a bind. The front desk lady, however, was horrid. She was extremely unprofessional and just rude. The kind of customer service that causes a bad name.
This company has tow truck drivers that drive in an unprofessional and unsafe manner, not allowing traffic in a merging lane to merge, driving no less than 10 mph over the speed limit and texting while driving (or otherwise using a phone in a manner that requires one to be looking at the screen instead of the road).
My father in law purchased a motorcycle from here and says “Buyer beware! Was told how to clear the title for the used vehicle I purchased and would provide some of the missing parts. After paying, title was a salvaged title and they never furnished the parts they said they had. I thought I would be ok with this business. If you use this business, get EVERYTHING up front BEFORE you pay!!”
Terrible service! When I called they said they would be at my house in an hr or less, it was 2 1/2 hrs for them to show up...then I got a call from the driveline shop I had them take it to and the rear driveshaft is missing. The shop said the tow driver should have disconnected driveshaft before towing. I called ASAP and the guy on the phone basically says its my fault bc i told the driver the front driveshaft was disconnected (I told him that he didnt need to shift the truck into neutral bc front was disconnected). I found the rear driveshaft on the ground a few blocks from my house, obviously damaged. He had no desire to try to make the situation right at all.
Update: I would like to say that the owner DID get a hold of the driveline shop my truck was at and said he would take care of whatever was needed due to his driver so he did make it right.
Trying to get car released from this company to our insurance was quite the task. However, they treated my wife with much respect and explained their reasons for doing things their way. Good customer service is the key to a successful business.
In the future, it might be wise for this company to explain to their customers that a persons insurance company can in fact sign a release taking full responsibility for a vehicle rather than simply stating we will not release. Refusing to release a vehicle to ones insurance is probably not the best business practice especially when then insurance companies and repair facilities have never heard of this process.
Knowing now how this company operates we would use them again for our towing needs.
