‼ADRESS change. Now located near foodland in kapahulu. ‼ Because VIP towing is careless and too lazy to update their page that contains the most important information like WHERE to pick up your vehicle, I need to inform you of the address change. To take people’s cars away is a large action, but to just update your address after months of relocating, seems standard for proper business.

so it’s not even just that they’re unprofessional, these people are literally sick and get off on screwing people over. my apartment complex offers parking at the leasing office from 7pm-7am if you are a resident (we have stickers on our windshields indicating that we live there). i get there at 6:50 am to go grab my car to go to work and when i get there my car is literally in the processed of being towed. little side note, the day before i lost my wallet so i did not have my license, credit card, or anything on me. i run to my car, talk to the dude and explained to him that the sign CLEARLY states that we can be parked there until 7 am and i also told him i lost my wallet the day before. as i’m sitting there tearing up and asking him if he can let go of my car he tells me he’ll let go of it. he gets in the truck, lowers my vehicle, and you know what he does after he lowers my vehicle? he raises it back up and drives off, as he is driving away this dude literally smirks at me as i am sitting there shocked and bawling my eyes out. i ended up taking an uber immediately to the place they were holding my car, one positive is that the lady at the office listened to me about me losing my wallet and that i did not have my ID on me, she worked with me and told me that if i have a photo of my license on my phone she can take that which i really really appreciated, and luckily i still had my purse so i had cash to get my car out. but i will say, the people who work there are sick and disgusting people. not only do they break the law, they get off on doing this to people. they will prey on you no matter how weak and vulnerable you are. as a community we should continue to contact law enforcement and pursue legal action on these sick individuals and shut this company down, no one deserves to go through this and honestly i don’t know how these people can sleep peacefully at night knowing that they are doing this to us, just for funsies.

This business is operating illegally, as many have stated already. All these are violations: Their signs at locations are out of compliance. They only take cash. Their on-site ATM machine is non-functional. I feel sad for employees who are giving their life to such a business.

Was expecting it to be a lot more to pick up my car so that was somewhat of a pleasant surprise (picked up car day of towing maybe an hour after the incident) however, the service is horrible. First of all, they are not located on sand island anymore they are located on kapahulu. That is nowhere to be found until you get to sand island and read the small sign they have posted telling you that they have moved. Don’t be surprised when the front desk lady at her little shack rolls her eyes at you the whole time you are standing in front of her. Employees stare at you when you enter the lot and give you no direction. Good luck if you end up at VIP towing :)

The worst company ever The lady who answers the phone keeps hanging up when asking to speak with somebody in management, she is extremely rude and unprofessional this company towed my car and did not allow me the opportunity to get it back and said that they sent a letter for me to obtain the vehicle to my place of residence, which was never received They sold my vehicle and never notified me or the lienholder

this company deserves 0 or even negative stars. They are complete scam artists and upon reading past reviews it is clear that nothing has changed. The women who answers the phone is beyond disrespectful as she used foul language towards my daughter and I, hung up the phone, was to busy answering a personal phone call in the middle of our conversation to give us the time of day and was beyond disrespectful. She needs to be fired immediately. I mentioned this company are scam artists earlier because they basically stole my vehicle then made pay for it back. My family just moved into a new building and we parked in the correct guest parking for it. We put the time parked and appartment number. (But forgot am apparently). We talked to the towing guy as we saw he was already taking photos of my car. He said everything was good so we went to the coffee shop near by. When we got back all of the sudden my car was gone and we were forced to pay almost 200$ for it back. Oh yeah and the tires were damaged as they were dragged 10 feet improperly. We will be filing a a criminal complaint. Overall, please do not use this company as they need their license revoked or at minimum decent staff. This is the worst experience with a company I’ve ever had.

They towed our car from 7-11 when we were paying customers at the 7-11. My husband was standing next to our car while I ran across the street but then I needed him to come across the street because I felt unsafe in the area by myself. In the five minutes he was gone from the car the scammers at 7 eleven and VIP Towing towed our rental. I was having serious medical issues including vertigo and claustrophobia and this unfortunate event later caused me to have a seizure due to severe stress.

Absolutely the worst towing experience imaginable. Our car was towed from a 7/11 parking lot as paying customers. This left us stranded outside at 10 PM with our 1-year-old child.
We had no safe option but to wait on the street with our children while my husband tried to retrieve the car. When he arrived, they demanded cash payment—something that is shady and not standard practice—until the police had to intervene.
We also asked if they could at least bring us our baby’s car seat so our child could be safe. Instead of showing any decency or professionalism, the woman on the phone hung up on us.
This company operates like a racketeering scheme. No family should ever have to go through what we did. Their license should be revoked immediately.
If I could give zero stars, I would.Sep 20, 2025 -
Making people mad for a living must be in the job description. Bad attitude, hung up the phone on me multiple times when trying to find the place. Using local business to prey upon people is their forte.

I was charged $412.00 for a tow that did not happen.
I called for a tow and after some back and forth with dispatch, decided not to use their services. I was quoted $300, and initially handed over my cc information. But when I was asked to verify via a text, I chose not to proceed and said to disregard the entire thing.
The dispatch said I had already been charged, to which my response was I did not authorize that. They said then I would have to pay a $49 cancellation fee, to which I said I did not authorize that either. The dispatch said, "OK" which I took to mean that I would not be charged.
That is why I was very surprised to see a charge for $412 (what happened to $300?!). I will revise or remove this review upon their response.Sep 07, 2025 -
Literally have my clothes still washing. (I Do Laundry)And they towed our rental car. I got my autistic son something to eat to help him with the time while we washed clothes. Sat down on the grass of 7/11. Next thing we know our car got towed. My son didn’t even get a chance to eat his food. Called VIP towing let them know we had pictures with a time stamp to prove our time we started washing. They could have cared less wanted $200 in CASH. I made a police report. And I believe In this world you receive what you put out.

Went to sell my car through Peddle and this was the company supposed to go through with the deal. Twice they did not show up, reach out to tell me they couldn't pick it up or anything. I called them the first time to see what happened an hour after they were supposed to show up and the guy on the phone was rude and didn't acknowledge the fact they had left me completely in the dark and just told me he'd reschedule, of course to not show up again. Actually a joke and I hope Peddle drops them.

A tenant in my building had my car tow. Tenants I'm not supposed to be able to have cars towed from the property.
Only security and management are authorized to have cars towed.
That is what it is so I head off to pick up my car from the towing yard with the manager for my building who's going to pay for the tow.
We get to the tow yard in my car is sandwiched between a dozen other cars there is no way that you could have driven the car there it had to be put there by a forklift.
And sure enough 2 minutes later here comes the forklift the only way to get my car out of a lot. They get it out I get in it start the car in the engine is revving like crazy and all kinds of warning lights are going off. My car has no power steering the brakes are locked and the check engine light is on.
I drive the car for about a block in the power steering comes back and all the lights go off except for the check engine light what stayed on all the way home. The employees at the tow yard could care less when I told them of the problems I was having and told me to just drive the car and things would fix themselves. No one was willing to take a report on an also no one could tell me any recourse to the problems I was having no policy and procedures for this type of problem you're on your own. If I hadn't lived in Hawaii for over 45 years and and developed the ability to speak pidgin in multiple languages I don't think I would have been able to communicate effectively with anyone that was working there.
Now I understand that all tow yards are probably the worst place in the world and I have been to a few, but this one is definitely the worst I've ever been to. We need some type of regulations police businesses.
Oh and I almost forgot I had almost half a tank of gas when I get out of the car today and when I picked it up I had a 10th of a tank. I'm guessing they don't pay much of the tow yard so they need to supplement their income. Just one of those days trying not to go postal.May 23, 2025 -
These people will lie to you and break the law to tow you and get your money.
I caught their driver as he was hooking up my car to the truck and asked him if it he could unhook my car or if it was too late. I did not know this at the time but the driver lied to my face and said it’s too late and I need to call their front office.
Hawai’i law states that if the tow truck has not left the scene of the tow and the car owner arrives they MUST unhook your car with ZERO fees. What the driver did was illegal and these people need to be investigated for shady business practices.May 23, 2025 -
Shitty!
Parked my car at my stall at my apartment had a parking permit on the rear view mirror but I had to put the shade on. If u get close and look you will see the parking permit, on it next to the camera sensor .this guys came tow my vehicle saying i have to pay $300 to take it out and that my parking permit should've been fully visible.Apr 10, 2025 -
I will have them a 0 start. These people are thefts. The only bad experience of our vacation in Honolulu was courtesy of these businesses. They said that the 7 11 hired them, but is not true they are sitting in the parking lot waiting for tourists. The sign says parking for costumers only, it did not specified 711 only so we went to a food truck. Not even 20 minutes pass and the car was gone. We took a Uber to the horrible location and at the moment that we got there we were treated with so much disrespect that we have to call the local police because we start feeling so unsafe in their location. The lady doing the paper work is so unprofessional and everyone surrounding her. If you get you car tow by this company and if they are on the wrong please call the local
Police to file a report. The place is about to be shut down.Mar 18, 2025 -
Who would ever give a tow company five stars?? But after getting towed (was completely my fault, I parked like an idiot) I looked them up and happened to see all the 1-star reviews on the long trip to Sand Island.
I’m sure the majority of their customers are, in the moment, seriously pissed off at their predicament. They have to deal with that all day.
I was impressed with their professionalism. My experience was perfectly fine, considering the situation. Fast and smooth. The receptionist was polite, as were the several employees who helped me. Cost me $183, and they accepted charge card. Not sure if there is a fee though, I paid cash.Feb 28, 2025 -
I parked in MY gym parking lot, ran across the street to grab a coffee, was gone about 8 minutes, came back to the gym and my car was towed. The tow truck pulled back up while I was trying to figure out an Uber. That fast. Obviously, they're circling like VULTURES. I would understand if I left for an hour, but I was literally using one of the businesses and ran across the street for 8 minutes....I called and explained to the lady that I'm a member of the gym and went to grab a coffee and she said "doesn't matter" and hung up on me. When I got to the junkyard, I asked her if I could show her my membership and she said "see it's you people who think they can just do whatever you want..." You people. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to and she said "no. you pay or we keep your car." handed me a pink paper and I asked her where to take it. She said "guys in the warehouse" and then slammed the window shut. Honestly, one of the rudest people I've met in a long time. The problem is, people aren't going to continue going to the businesses that are involved with this tow company. So, companies are going to lose business because of them. They must have horrible karma.

Unlawfully towed my car in Kailua out of a parking lot where I had an appointment and the parking pass displayed in my window. Very rude and unprofessional customer service lady on the phone, condescending, unhelpful. Made me walk to go meet the tow truck to pick up my unlawfully towed car because the driver "couldn't back in" to the place it was towed from, even though no back in was required. Theft. This has happened to others in this area, do not support this unethical business, they will be shut down soon.

Absolutely abysmal. VIP personnel targeted my association-registered vehicle at my townhouse complex where it was safely parked not impeding any operations only 5.5 feet from the door of my unit that I own. It was just outside of my garage stall partly under the balcony which, per our association rules, is a valid extension of said stall. I left my vehicle there as I routinely have for years as I temporarily worked in the garage and then proceeded into my unit to get ready for work. After a 20 minute gap inside, I noticed a truck towing my car. Mind you, this is an off-peak time and location for them to be doing random enforcement checks conversely to night time where unknown vehicles without decals are consistently using our shared guest stalls in violation of the complex rules. Neither myself nor my association manager received a phone call and no one knocked / rang the doorbell to make contact with me when they decided to hook up my car en route to the lot. I called VIP to which they were non informative and short with me when making simple inquiries. I eventually got to the location which, additionally, was ambiguous, unsafe, and unwelcoming - the female office worker was very rude and pushy with insisting on paying an absurd $184 with cash only, failed to provide me with any information on how to dispute / inquire further, lied to me when asked twice if there was a website for their company (there is), and dismissed me when I asked for photos of my vehicle at the time of towing for my records. Along with other subjective negative experiences with VIP, I can now affirmatively say that this towing service is the most resentful business in their respective sector on the island of O'ahu as they provide no effort to exercise any objectively reasonable discretion that other vendors would. These borderline scam operations VIP are running are inherently vile and should never be tolerated as they will only be conducive to a hostile society and foster animosity for all parties involved. I will follow up with the company and the state per HRS Sec 290-11 to file a complaint in doing my part to help limit unjust transactions like this taking place in the future. Embarrassingly atrocious.

0 Stars for customer service. I hope the woman at the window finds peace in her heart and stop treating customers the way she does. She was quite literally one of the most unpleasant people I’ve had the misfortune of encountering. Lazy, rude, and hates her job. Better to get a new one. Wish her good luck in life.

CASH ONLY ! They’re really friendly here, but who wouldn’t be after bringing in +180$ for 15 minutes of work and, uh, storing our cars ?
There is an ATM outside the pay office, but I don’t know the fee, and would be afraid to find out how much it is. That’s on top of the cost to get your car back.
This place way at the end of Sand Island.Jul 04, 2024 -
Witnessed this company tow a maintenance guys vehicle that was parked in front of my neighbors home. Super trash to do to someone that is conducting business at a home. They are causing financial hardship to residents by illegally towing vehicles.
We asked if we could get the maintenance guy to move his truck and the tow driver stated that he would still tow. SMH this company has absolutely no aloha and have been preying on those who live in our community in Ewa to meet their end of the month quota. Such a shame.Jun 01, 2024 -
Very very very unprofessional lady at the window was ignorant and hung up on me. Then when I arrived she closed the window in my face, and made me wait well over 10 minutes when they weren’t doing anything. I see all the other ratings say the same thing. Not a good way to treat someone who isn’t from Hawaii! Place is no good! I would give less then 1 star but I can’t.

Not good service. Unsafe location, workers don't even try to care for your car. My car was parked in handy cap, with the placard up and visible. There was no sign where I parked stating "private parking only" Come back, my car is towed by whom the nice USPS worker said VIP and gave me the number to call. Mind you I missed a call from my friend that's works at the Vape shop I parked by, she tried calling me at 11:26 a.m. I arrived at VIP 1006 Mikole Street at 1:51 p.m. Tina the VIP office worker was very rude and very short tempered. Hours later I can finally look at my VIP bill. 1. Charged $25.00 1 day (a day is 24 hours) 2. OVERTIME charge: $15.00, really VIP OT hours on bill says M-Th 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Fri: 6 p.m. - Mon 6 a.m.

Shady shady shady! The receptionist cussed at me for asking documents regarding towing, and demand I pay cash only even though website states they take cards! Window cracked, gun signs everywhere, they handle vehicle without care. Employees were drunk when I picked up my car. I do not recommend this place at all!

Tow in cars of this company do not have insurance and are registered to individuals. My car was taken away and then a tow in car drove me into the same parking lot. When I took the police report, this car is not the property of the company, but the property of an individual. Thus, you should know that your car is being taken out by an unknown person's car without insurance and this car is not the property of the company. That is, your car is being illegally taken away by some person who has nothing to do with the company. Currently, I have sent a request to the company about who is dealing with the claims. I was kindly not answered. I am currently preparing a request to the tax and police about how legal this business is?

They towed our car negligently and destroyed the rear differential. Vehicle repairs cost $4000. They denied responsibility, so I took them to small claims court. This was a long process which they were obviously very familiar with. They employed delaying tactics every step of the way. They eventually settled with me, I suspect simply to avoid a court judgement. A review of the Office of Consumer protection web site reveals they have 47 “unresolved” complaints dating back to 2016. If you are a business, housing community, etc…, looking to hire a towing company, I advise you to avoid this company.
