We will machine your engine components or do a complete engine balancing with our state of the art CWT computer balance system. Our target balance number is +/- one gram. If it’s a complete engine assembly you need, we can handle that also. Just some of the machine services we perform include: cylinder head reconditioning, block cleaning & boring, and complete crankshaft machining. If you have a performance build, we utilize torque plate boring. We are a full service machine shop that services all forms of automotive machine needs for all style engines, both imports and domestic.

I talked the guys at the shop about rebuilding an engine for me,I was informed that it would take about 3 week's because he had no one ahead of so i was cool with that but it turn out to be 8to 9 months later During the long wait I received maybe 3 call that was only for me to put up more money . When I finally got my engine the price was totally different I spent damn near 4 thousand dollars Then i run into issues with were i had my my truck work being doig but was no concern of theirs They tell me they only is giving me a 90 day warrant on but when I started this process I told a year because you can't tell anything within 90 days but I haven't put it in as of yet I just hope things go OK because they will not get any more or business from me I will say beware wolve In sheep clothing
I've done business with Benning Auto since I was literally a kid. They are no longer owned or operated by ANYONE from the days past. The new staff is disrespectful, unhelpful, and disorganized. 10/10 DO NOT recommend anymore. What a sad time.
I went in to get my 4.6l ford head to get cleaned like new and shaved I paid 320 then when I go to pick them up they weren't cleaned just washed. So I told them and the guy gave me a discount for the mistake and I just had to pay an extra 40 dollars. The next day they called me and said he was wrong and it would be another 180 so I asked if they were disassembled at all and they said no. now the mustang ran before hand perfectly with almost 200k miles original heads. The intake blew and was letting antifreeze to go into the cylinder because it set for 8 years. So because they changed the price 3 times I wasn't paying the 180 and I wanted my 40 back since they did nothing and I get them back and I'm putting them on the car and I see that they did in deed take the apart and when they put them back together they put my rocker backwards on one head now if I didn't notice that my engine would have been screwed. I will never go to them again and I wouldn't advise anyone else to also.
I choose Banning Auto Parts because their expertise is unmatched in this area. A few years ago they did the block work on my 383 Stroker and balanced the rotating assembly. The engine has ran strong and without issue since then. If you're looking for a machine shop, give them a call. Expert advice and their prices are very competitive.

All my friend needed was an oil pan to work on a Chevy Impala. A train stopped in the tracks so we had to find a way around. I called to explain the situation and was very rudely told they were going to close in one minute, despite their posted business hours ending at 1700. We arrived at 1650 and the employees stood around watching us before one employee made up a million excuses as to why they couldn't help. They should probably update their business hours. Additionally, I don't understand why you wouldn't want to make a little more money before closing.
If you have a LS/Chevy, take your business to Brewer Speed and Racing. My transmission cooler line blew and they got me a tow, fixed it and had me back on the road within 5 hours. They have far superior business and top class customer service.
Ridiculous how their customer service is shuts down 15 minutes prior to 5pm. Last resort needed an ls1 oil pan and they say they can't help us out just as we show up to buy it. Either they don't like money or their customer service is horrible. The holistic thing would of been to help us out sense we was in a pinch. They looked right at us contemplated on opening the door then come out with a excuse that their systems where all shut down for the day and if they turned it on they would have errors with the transaction.
Picked up my block from their shop earlier this week. Looks great and the guys working the counter and the techs working the back know what they're doing. Only hiccup was their computer didn't have my correct number saved, so it was a couple of weeks till I called them and they said that they were trying to call me. They checked my research for parts and fitments and concluded that it would work. They called last week and said my block was ready.
11/10 would come here again.

Took my 2005 Monte Carlo heads in car was cranking and everything before getting the pressurized and surfaced. Now my car won’t even crank back up, had bought 2 head gasket replacement. Tore the motor down 2 times and no engine codes getting everything it needs but the compression it needs. Paid 228 up front just to be disappointed at the end. Will not be bringing heads back here.
Edit: I brought my block beginning of March. clean mag and bore if needed. was told 4-6 weeks. Had to call them at 7 weeks they hadn't started on it. Ok. called again at nine still nothing next day they called back said it could get by with a hone. alright. Two weeks later i called. Was told it can't be honed needs to be bored. alright. Do it. Called yesterday (@14 weeks)said they need the new pistons before can be bored which is standard but I wasn't told that. Screw it. Got block back surface rust turning into actual rust in cyls 6-7. No communication. No straight answers.
I'm not calling again.
By far the best location for any auto parts/ repairs you may need. I needed a new cylinder head for my 2010 Dodge Journey. Not only did they offer to repair the cylinder (unfortunately it was cracked), but the part was cheaper than any location in Columbus and online. They provided additional knowledge of the part(how to order, save cost, and additional materials needed, when to expect the item). Great prices and great customer service! My go to place from now on! Keep up the great work guys!
Benning Auto Parts has great customer service. They also do great work at a great price! The guys are very knowledgeable & will give you great advice! I know I can count on them to give me the honest truth when I bring cylinder heads in for them to pressure test & resurface.

Very reasonable costs, and they were so helpful over the phone. I'll be shopping here as much as possible from now on. I'm tired of garbage customer service from the major three part store chains.
I took parts from my 87 Ford backhoe have them clean polished and they came back excellent the head was reworked the crank was polished the rods were cleaned the only place I would take any of my motors
I would love to know why people always give bad reviews and have no facts to back them up. My name is Vernon Allen I own one business in Columbus and build engines as a part time side business. I have never had a bad experience with Benning Auto parts. They get very backed up at times, they inform you of the wait time, they do what you ask of them, the price is within reason. reading these reviews always makes me think that someone wanted something for free, did not explain the job needed, or had a miss-communication with the staff.( or had no business inside of an engine) I would say go by, talk to the staff, explain what you are wanting and go over it in detail. When picking it up, again review all the work, have them explain the work, and understand the work preformed!
