Had a great experience with The Clunker Junker. Found them via Google, and began the transaction through the website. Very easy, AND they did ask multiple questions to determine the car's condition. I received a good offer, more that another firm that I tried first. Accepted the offer, and had good contact from the company throughout the process. The local pickup person contacted me and we arranged the pickup for the next day. All in all, just about 24 hours total from first contact to final delivery of the vehicle to Clunker Junkers. It really could not have been easier. Also, they continued to reach out (and NOT excessively - just the right amount of contact) throughout the process as well as after to see that I was satisfied. I did my research and it was worth it! Excellent, smooth, painless and I received cash in hand for my car. Communication was excellent and it was all through text messages, which I didn't mind at all. They were quick to respond and I didn't feel pressured during the process. They gave me a fair price for my pickup truck that had 286,739 mi on it and was 15 and a half years old.They gave me more than the dealership was going to give me a trade. The only thing that I messed up on which is my fault 100% is that I should have taken there first offer. I decided to search around at other places as well to see who could give me the best offer. Then when I went back the next morning to check the offer it had gone down $200. I still received $500 more than what the dealership was going to give me trade in. So I am pleased and I will use them again if I ever have to.

got my offer, accepted my offer, was contacted by Ross Automotive to coordinate pickup (or so i thought). A random guy (not in a tow truck) showed up to look over the car, which was in rough shape due to a tree falling on her, but nothing that was not disclosed at the time of the offer, and still ran and drove.
Immediately out of the gate, the guy dropped the offer by 25% with no explanation, then when my husband told him to go, mysteriously he was ready to honor it. Still no. just go.
I emailed ClunkerJunker (CJ) to advise them what had happened (spoke with Eric) and they stated they would reach out to the pickup company for clarification. as well, the owner of the tow company called to ask what had happened and i told him the same.
About an hour or two later, i get an email from CJ that the tow company reduced the offer stating it was a NonOEM cat which reduced the value. I took the email at face value, as the car is/ was 21 years old, and it was totally possible.... until i opened the attachment, a photo stated to be provided by the tow company..... Yea, Not My CAR. My Car is sitting on a gravel driveway surrounded by pine trees, the photo provided was a paved parking lot with brick buildings in the background. And, i provided CJ with the CORRECT photos, not an aftermarket cat in sight.
CJ expressed concern over the tow company flat out LYING, and probably worried about how many other customers this was done to, but that's where it ended. So now, there is a shady tow company out there with my name and address that may be upset over losing a revenue stream.... great.

God love the Internet and not getting a notification that the company had replied. Absolutely a crummy situation overall where one bad person can throw a total wrench into a process, HOWEVER, I'm not sure about the statement of a higher offer or who it was made to, because it certainly wasn't me. My last contact with Ross automotive was texting the owner after I had been provided the fraudulent photos asking where these pictures came from because that's not my car… And I never heard back from him. There was no "higher "offer
By far the best company if you want to sell your junk car! No other place came even close to what they offered me. And it was done so easily and quickly. They picked up my car the next day after I accepted the offer, and paid cash on the spot. Plus I want to give a five star customer service to Amy! She was very nice to work with and made everything smooth and easy. I had a great experience, so highly recommended!
Checked with four other salvage companies and these guys offered me the most money by a good amount. I accepted the offer, they contacted me with instructions - send a picture of the title. They made arrangements for pickup the next day. Driver showed up, gave me a check and took my car away. Could not have been easier or more efficient.

I submitted several inquiries for my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Clunker junker linked me with a company called peddle after a few emails exchanges to discuss the vehicle. Crazy is I received two different offers from clunker junker and peddle ended up offering more than the original two quotes by the end of the email exchanges. I am thoroughly impressed (especially after I got past all my scam anxiety Lolol). The process was smooth. I started the process on 3/13/25 and the Tucson was picked up 3/17/25. The offer was $3.300 more than the local offers I was receiving.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with The Clunker Junker, and I can't say I was impressed. Turns out they are just a middleman giving out inflated prices then try and get 3rd party companies to pay what they promise.
I was offered 8300 and a day later the actual company who would be picking up the car offered 3800. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. I tried to negotiate, but they were inflexible and dismissive. This was for a drivable Bentley with only 50k miles but it did have bumper damage and needed front air shocks.
Overall, my experience with Clunker Junkers was disappointing. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you’re in the market to sell your junk car. Save yourself the hassle and find a company that values your time and money!
What a great experience. The tow driver was amazing, Amy was wonderful and my whole on line experience a 10+…. I didn’t know a service like this was available and was skeptical at first. The whole experience was stress free and very simple. I highly recommend!!!!
Do not go through this company unless you want to get ripped off , parking tickets and notices of dishonored check notices years after selling the vehicle to this company. They will claim they’ve spoken to the “ manager department “ then come back with an excuse, blaming you for not completing paperwork with the DMV. I will be taking legal action .And to only prove my point of this company being a rip off, where you offered A customer $300 for A 2001 Honda Odyssey, but wanted to pay me $240 for my 2005 Ford Explorer, which is in better condition. You will not insult my character or intelligence. My business degree also influenced my decision and opinion lol .I have complete understanding with how title transfer works, enjoy your 1 star review ! It was well deserved.
