An absolute gem in the towing category. Wouldn't call anyone else as long as they Ballard's was an option. Great people and I truly appreciate what he did to save a woman who was broken down and being harassed by the men who live there. We had a great experience with this company. They were very prompt getting out to us after we called. They gave us a lot of good tips on what we could do better in the future to get us out on our own, which most companies won't usually because they want to keep making money. They're prices were also really good compared to others which surprised me with all that they do. They can even get to you even offroading. There was also no damage to my vehicle after getting us unstuck and back to safety. I would definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you Ballard's Towing and Offroad Recovery!

This company is amazing!! Stranded on the side of the road and they spotted me and got me to where I needed to go. 100% recommend Ballard to anyone in the area. Way better than the other local tow companies!
Don’t ever use this Towing service My mother was quoted 400 to 450 then when he removed the U-Haul from being stuck, he charged an extra $150 for mileage which he never stated And when I contacted him to confront him because I was in present, he was very Accusing my mother of being a liar and hung up on me
In regards to our response no the person I spoke to was Dave and yes, it was from Ballards Towing in Marion county I would never recommend your services to anyone Very unprofessional, you do not hang up on your customer, especially when I wasn’t even yelling at you. I was simply stating the facts and the fact that you call my mother a liar. When you lied and gave her a quote and then stated mileage was another fee Having full knowledge of the distance where we were stating it would take you 40 minutes to get to us and I overheard the entire conversation. So no, it’s the correct business that I was referring to and Dave was a person I spoke to.
He was very professional, upfront, reasonable cost for specialty tows like he does. I called needing a tow out of a trail mudhole in the Ocala national Forest about 30 miles from him. He was on his way to come get me and told me that if I canceled last minute that he has to charge me $125. Totally understandable, since he’s driving out to me. Turns out in this case, I ended up not fully using his services because he had a mechanical issue on his way and somebody else in a Wrangler came along on the trail and pulled me out. But I would absolutely call Ballard’s again next time if I can’t find anyone on the trail to help.
I went too far off road in a vehicle that couldn't handle the deep sand. Couldn't get it out with a rental 4 wheel drive truck, called Ballard's who specializes in this. He immediately met us nearby and had my vehicle out in 15 minutes. Knows what he's doing and great guy to work with.
This company is the most awesome company I have ever had toget towed by. Very friendly people and he was the second tow truck company that was called for what happened.
My son got a U-Haul truck stuck in sugar sand. It was blocking the road. But Ballard's towing got the truck out and moved it for me. If I could give him a 100 stars I would.. such a great man to do this for us.. Thank you so much...
We'd give Dan of Ballard's Towing, located in Ocklawaha FL, 10 stars if we could. Yeah, he's that good. He came to our rescue when we got stuck while off-roading in Ocala. He got to us as quickly as he could, towed us out, and more than that, he actually performed the mechanical repair we needed to get us back on the road right away. He saved us a fortune in garage repairs. Dan is the best. He's a real pro, a great mechanic, an honest guy who charges very reasonable rates and knows his stuff ... what more could you ask for when in a jam and in need of a tow? He specializes in off-roading recoveries but will do regular towing as well. Thanks Dan. A pleasure meeting and doing business with you.

We were test driving our car to see what was wrong with it and it completely locked up. (transmission issues) Couldn’t even move it with a chain.
We called Dan at Ballard’s towing, in Ocklawaha, and he came right out and moved our car. Seeing that our car broke down 1/2 a block from our house, he gave us a little break. He asked all the right questions so to bring the right tow truck. Super nice to talk to also. I think he services surrounding towns. Great Service! Call him if you need tow services.

I was only stuck on the side of the road for a few minutes, still on the phone with AAA when his tow truck saw me in the mud and offered to pull me out. Just because he was there. Just because it was a nice thing to do. Just because he didn’t want to leave me there on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.
Man this guy is on point ! As soon as I called in a stressful situation he talked me right out of it and defused the situation immediately he insured me that everything was going to be fine and he was heading my way in just a few minutes. He was literally there within 30 minutes or so , you could tell he knew what he was doing! It was a quick and painless transaction at a fair price ! Got stuck in sugar sand after midnight, and I call up Ballard's and got a great price and was hauled out without any damage to my vehicle within an hour. Generous guy, kind hearted and actually wants to help you. His truck will get you out of anything, I assure you. All I can say is wow! Deep in the Ocala National Forest I high centered on a sandbank, both front and rear axles. My big-name insurance company(Gecko) wouldn't touch it. I saw Ballard's ad and gave him a call and was immediately assured that I was in good hands. Dan Ballard goes out of his way to get you out of a mudhole in my case. Dan pulled us out with a kinetic strap and got us ALL the way out of the woods and could not be more friendly and professional. I expected to be stuck for several hours but he got there in unbelievable time. Anywhere, anytime, Dan is the Man!!!
My aunt and I were on our way to the airport when we struck a deer and totaled our vehicle around 3 AM on Christmas weekend. After going in circles with insurance regarding the towing process, we decided to take matters into our own hands. Thankfully, Dan answered his phone quickly and responded to our request the same morning. He towed the vehicle to our home and was incredibly personable during this stressful process. This towing service is top notch. He went into Hardrock Offroad park and towed me out. He had to go through all the terrain with me attached and I got home safe and sound including my Jeep. I would always use him and his services. Super friendly and over 40 years of knowledge. I highly recommend using this towing service for your needs.
My husband's radiator burst while he was at an offroading park. He was able to get it to the front of the park, but no other service would help on a Sunday. (We tried 20 other towing services.) He was the friendliest person to work with on a freezing cold Sunday. We were over an hour away from home. I would recommend him all day every day. 100%
My buddy wrecked his side by side in the trail system in Fort McCoy / Salt Springs. We were BUIRED in the forest 300 yards from the main road. Dan came in and literally saved the day. I called 5-7 companies within a hour of us and NO ONE THEM were willing to help. Dan showed up in a TANK of a four wheel drive wrecker and pulled our $45,000 machine out of the forest.
If you want a honest guy that will get the job done call Dan. If you have a ATV / Dirt bike / side by side or jeep and you get in trouble in the Ocala forest , call this guy.
Let me tell you when I say we were stuck in a remote area I mean it.. but it was nothing for Ballards towing and recovery to get me out in a pinch. Real nice folks and they know what they are doing! I know who’s number I’m calling if I’m ever in a bind again. Much appreciated!
Dan was awesome and I highly recommend to anyone that is stuck in the mud or needs to be towed. His attitude from the time he showed up until the time he finally got me out was top notch. After calling 3 different tow companies and being told they couldn’t help due to my situation I finally got a hold of Ballard towing and within 30 minutes he was there and never lost his cool which surprised me. Anyway I lost track of how long it actually took to get me out of the situation I was in but most ppl would’ve given up but he was very persistent and never once thought of giving up and I appreciate the many attempts until finally he got me out. I was in my fuel truck and weighed over 30,000 pounds and probably went too far thinking I could make it but the mud was just too much to get through. The homeowners Daughter took a video of the recovery and maybe some of you will get to see it. Thanks again Dan I appreciate it. Hopefully I don’t find myself in that situation anytime soon but you’ll be the first one I call next time I need help 🤙🏻 I was more interested in getting outta there and not so much for taking pics but there’s 2 I took after I got pulled out. All the black you see was grass so you can tell it took some time to get out.
