These guys quoted me 50 minutes to come tow my car. I wait 45 minutes and 5 minutes before the guy is scheduled to arrive, they call me and said it will be another hour. Clown show. Stay away from them.
Called at 630pm asking for a tow, was told it will be an hour... 3 hours later no one shows up. Called and spoke to Kyle he says because of the storm tow trucks are limited . I understand that but that should have been explained to me on my initial call. I would have went with a different tow company! Never will I call them for a tow Again!!!! Horrible customer service!
Showed up to get my car out, told us it’ll be an hour wait because they moved a car that they didn’t have the keys to in front of mine, came back an hour and a half later, told me it’ll be another 20 minutes because they sent the tow truck elsewhere for some reason. Currently writing this review as I sit outside in the heat waiting for the truck to show up.
This company deserves to be sued. Auctioned off our vehicle right after a serious accident, and caused the insurance to not be able to pay for the full worth of the vehicle.
This was the most unprofessional company I think I've ever been associated with. I was in an auto accident and the collision center I used had my vehicle towed across the street to the Honda dealership for further repairs. When I received my car after repairs I was missing several important items from my glovebox. The glovebox had clearly been rifled through given certain items were left on my car seat that had been in there prior to repairs. Trying to recover these items, my husband contacted Rose via text messaging. He politely asked her if she could help us investigate and see if someone from the towing company had possibly taken them. We weren't looking to press charges, we just wanted these items back. She responded to him by saying "We do not entertain claims of theft" along with other unprofessional and uncooperative texts. I decided to try one more time and I called her myself. She was rude right out the gate and refused to be helpful in any capacity. I will never use this company and will be sure to tell others of this difficult and frustrating experience.

My Truck needed to be towed on Christmas eve. Joey From the Tampa office went above and beyond with professionalism, attitude kindness and compassion in a Situation I haven't had to experience often in my 40 year career hauling cars all over the country. I would highly recommend Stepps towing for your next heavy haul tow. And if you're driver is Joseph Mahoney you are in good hands. Not to mention the office staff was also excellent with professionalism and compassion during a stressful situation.

Stepp’s towing was the third place that we called today. The other two places were too busy to help us. The woman who answered the phone was very polite and cheerful!! She said she could have someone out to us within the hour! Our driver Michael showed up 40 minutes later! He introduced himself and was very happy and polite! He had a beautiful flatbed truck that was very clean! Michael took great care of our car and was very professional! He got our car home in no time! We would recommended them 100%!! Thank you for saving us today!
I did not use steps towing service because the guy said he would call me back and they never even called back they make too much money with I guess the police departments and big jobs they don't care about the little people anyway I never even got the return call that I was told I would so I guess they're busy enough
They said offer 24/7 service.. I called at 4am, stranded on the Bridge, they laughed and told me to call back around 9am.. They use to honor the 24/7 Working hours but I guess not anymore..
Worst experience ever! Take to long, the drive have bad attitude, for 1.5 miles they charge me 200 dollars just cuz the driver have a bad time getting the car hook up, 100 dollars more and no call to let me know about the extra fee, the words of the driver was" if you don't pay i can give you the car" worst experience ever !
They were really fast with their service and didn't give me a hard time. The driver was super nice understanding and down to earth and was able to help me emotionally with my situation as it was the first time my car broke down and I was very sad.
Don’t go to steps towing at all!! They are thief’s! They lie to you and sell your car without telling you and tell you it go destroyed but yet it didn’t! Found the car 4 months later in their other location being parted out in st Pete at stepps part out!! Their costumer service is poor!!
Outstanding service from the time that they answered my phone, until I signed for payment. The electrical system went out on my truck, while towing a full dump trailer across the Howard Franklin. I have always received excellent service from Stepps, so it was a no-brainer to call them again. They let me know up front that they were busy, so it could be as long as 90 min before their arrival. However, the surprisingly arrived in less than half that time. The driver, Austin, was very friendly and helpful. He was able to get the truck started. He then offered to follow me to the auto repair shop (instead of towing), making the service significantly less than the estimated cost.
They were extremely helpful and considerate. You never hope to have to use a towing company; however, this will always be my company of choice.
Horrible customer service. Tells you it will be an hour then an hour later they say another hour, and another. Unreliable. Referred through GEICO and I will be sure to let them know as well. Had to sit in lightening outside because they could not get to us on the motorcycle. Completely unsatisfied.
Deplorable service. Hours of wait time. I will go out of my way to inform public of this despicable company and their undesirable ethics. No only did they lie about their estimated time of arrival by two hours, they lied about providing me a safe recovery to my personal vehicle after my company truck was delivered to a mechanic. At 11pm i was informed i would be dropped off at the nearest gas station because the driver ''is not a taxi" and had another call to go to. After research, the driver is contracted to drive me to a desired location before delivering the vehicle to any destination. It is expected to provide a safe return for the customer. But this is not true with Stepps. And on top of the inconsideration of the late hour, the location of the gas station was in a bad part of Tampa. I was in an environment that was obviously a safe haven for drug dealers and prostitutes. This review is the one of many steps I am following in my pursuit to bring repercussions to a company that should not have a licence to practice and business! Consumer beware!
Over 4 hours waiting for a tow. Wouldn't recommend if you have anything else you need to do that day. Driver was nice, but phone staff seemed completely uninterested that 4 hours later the truck didn't arrive in the estimated 15minutes. Would have been able to push my car to the mechanic in less time than it took to get it towed.
