Best tow company. Were from out of town and had an accident while towing a boat. Couldn’t find any companys that would tow it. Called stepps and they sent the nicest most helpful guy named Jedfrey. Came out with a giant 18 wheeler and was so kind helpful. Thank goodness. Thank you stepps!

Terrible customer service and unethical business practices. Received a notice for payment of a tow for a vehicle I do not own and when I initially called about it, the person in collections said it would be corrected and not to worry about it. I thought problem solved. To my dismay, they then incorrectly applied a Lien in my name to a vehicle that that I do not own and said they would only remove lien for payment even when documentation showing proof from a dealership that someone else owned the vehicle was offered to them. Now I’m on my way to DMV to seek other remedies. Terrible customer service. Unethical business practices. Filing complaint with BBB of Florida.
Quick and easy jump start experience my guy was excellent, but not so great aftercare. They send you a link to pay for your service, and in my situation with my car dying even when I came to a slight stop, I needed to get my car in ASAP and told the lady on the phone I will take care of it after I dropped my car off (which you can’t just drop it off and leave mind you it takes a few minutes), and will pay it when I get home. She called and left a voicemail 10 minutes after that conversation. I had to take a community shuttle back home from the dealership and called not once, not twice, BUT THREE TIMES while I was filling out the form to pay my appointment. Felt like I was trying to fight off a pesky ex-boyfriend. I would recommend trusting that your clients will pay it when they can the day of and when they TELL you they will, or change your form of payment
These tow truck drivers need to speak with the owner of the vehicle being towed first before towing. And not go by what the police say alone. We were involved in an accident and had more than enough drivers to get our vehicle home. But Stepps towing was called. Our vehicle was towed. And we had to pay almost $400 for towing and 2 days of storage. Our vehicle was drivable the whole time. We paid the fees and then we were allowed to drive our vehicle home. Who's got the time and money for this God dam nonsense. Not me.
Great experience overall, and would recommend them again. Towed my pickup truck off of the fast lane shoulder on I-75 within an hour of my call. Operator and dispatcher did a great job, very friendly and complimented the rare plants I have at my house by name haha. Only issues I had were technical difficulties with their website when trying to place my pickup location, and the payment system being a little finicky. Would definitely use them again if needed.
Needing a tow is never fun but they made it a pretty good overall experience. They shouldnt even give out time estimates because the quote they gave us and the time they actually showed up was a 24 hour difference. Luckily for us we had all the time in the world for this job. They price was right and the driver was professional, they even made it easy to pay.
I'm from out of town.and my van battery died. They have EXCELLENT service. Fast and affordable. I called all around the.area and no one either answered the phone or they were extremely high. I only needed a jump and they very reasonable. Friendly phone staff and driver. Easy process. Highly recommend.
When my trailer decided to part ways with the passenger side tire and fling it over the Hwy 301 overpass on I-75, I suddenly found myself dead on the shoulder. Since Stepps HQ was only a few miles away and they have legendary cool looking trucks of all sizes, shapes, and colors, and I've navigated my way around many of their roadside rescue missions throughout the decades, I figured I'd give them a call. They had a flatbed out to me in reasonable time. Driver was excellent, no face or prison tattoos (not that there's anything wrong with that, but....), and took good care of my work trailer. Hopefully we don't meet again like this, but if I need to, I'll be calling Stepp's first.
Stepp's did an amazing job jumping my Tesla Model Y. Edy and his assistant were great to work with. I knew my 12V battery died and I needed to get into my vehicle so I could lock it and these guys knew exactly what to do. Wait time was a bit long due to a dispatching delay and ensuring the tech had the proper equipment (battery jumper) but I was informed and they took care of me and did everything I needed. Thank you!
Had to use them numerous time to transport my 57 Chevy. Driver Ian knows the car as good as I do. Fantastic service, prompt, professional and always gets the car there with no issues whatsoever.
When a service call is made, I feel as tho the custom should be made aware of the correct wait time. I was originally quoted 90 mins -2 hours. After 3.5 hours of waiting i called for an update, where I was told another 60 mins. Fast forward to 8.5 hours later to the point where I now have fallen asleep and missed the 2 calls I was given. Because of this they canceled my call and I wasn't made aware of any of it until I called the following morning. I called at 530am, was told by 7am the truck would be picked up. It wasn't until closer to 11am that the truck was picked up and delivered.
Also make sure to clearly ask how much the price is. Because I was quoted $140 + 7% fuel and 3% credit card fee. Somehow my bill was over $240.
I understand things happen. But please communicate effectively with your clients so this doesn't continue to happen.
We have been using Stepps to unload our large trailers for a few years now. Our normal Driver is Rusty, class act. All of the drivers are great. Management, great. Thanks for the dedication to making things run smoothly!!
I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Stpps Towing service inc. First, they took over 4 hours to arrive, despite promising a 30-minute ETA. When the driver finally showed up, he was rude and unprofessional, barely acknowledging me before hooking up my car.
To make matters worse, they overcharged me significantly compared to the quote I was given over the phone. When I tried to dispute the charges, the company was completely unhelpful and dismissive, refusing to listen to my concerns or provide a detailed breakdown of the costs.
The entire process felt like a scam, and I would never recommend Stepps Towing Service inc to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and find a more reliable towing service.

I needed two vehicles towed from off road recovery on 8/7/24. I expressed to Stepps this was off road recovery and that a roll back would not be able to get to the two vehicles that needed to be pulled out. Stepps was 1 hour late passed the time they said they would be there and then didn't do a thing. The two drivers that were sent got out of the roll back trucks and looked down the road a went to laughing in my face. Stated they were not going to even try to get my vehicles out. I ended up getting Tampa Tow Bros LLC to pull my vehicles out. They came and pulled both vehicles out with no problems. They brought the correct equipment unlike Stepps and they showed up within the time frame they said they would unlike Stepps. I will never use nor will I ever recommend Stepps for anything. Worst towing company.
Our work truck broke down and David came first to assist us. He was very nice, but we ended up needing a different truck to fit our vehicle. Then, Travis came to help. He was super kind, friendly, and helpful! Couldn’t have asked for nicer people!
Stepps were so easy to work with, starting with dispatcher Katy, who was so understanding, helpful, and thorough, not to mention pleasant. Mike the towtruck driver was so professional and respectful. This involved a long haul tow and the long ride was very enjoyable as Mike & I conversed the whole trip. If you need a tow, this company will take very good care of you, all the way around. I highly recommend Stepps!
Highly recommend Stepps!! Dealing with a very stressful situation, Heather was extremely helpful! She got us scheduled for pickup, we received several texts with the status of our pick up & our drivers name. Driver, Yevhenii, was right on time and was very friendly, thorough & professional. He loaded up our RV, checked his work several times & away he went. Thank you to everyone that helped us out.
Had a flat tire last night and Tesla sent this towing company and I must say I was really impressed. David’s customer service was very professional and I felt at ease when he explained me everything and I was in a comfort zone that my car will be handled with care which he definitely did. He kept me posted on everything.. called me a few times, text me my car when reached destination and he went beyond to make sure I was aware of my car. I appreciate this excellent service and would definitely ask for David again if needed in future.
The driver said I was park ilegaly, I was not, there was no towing sign in that area. He said it was going to be a $160.00 to get it out, but it only was $125.00 if I gave him cash at that moment. I said I don't have that much, he said $100. and I said I need my receipt, he ignore me I ask him 3 times for the receipt, he took off. I believe he took the money for himself and don't want to report it to supervisor. He's a white male about 5'6 ask him his name he ignore me. Please be careful.
My tow guy Bill was amazing and so was dispatch :) My vehicle was in a parking garage downtown and they worked with me to find the right type of tow truck that could fit in! Honest and fair pricing with a professional attitude. Also they send text alerts with the drivers location so you are not waiting and wondering when they will be there :)
I understand they have a job to do but when you make an appointment at 2 o'clock to meet someone you probably should keep it I'm out here in a 100ﾟ temperature waiting in front of their building for some one that I was supposed to see at 2 o'clock.
I called back and they said it's gonna be about another hour...

I am so impressed with Stepp’s responsiveness. The driver was professional and let me know the time he was going to arrive. It was also a very good value I had been quoted twice as much from Arruda company. So glad I went with them and I would highly recommend them. My driver was Raphaël.
