I will NEVER go back to this place. First off of the scale days 6,000 pounds then that's what you write on the ticket. They took off 20 pounds. None of them know anything about anything. And then when I complained they still ripped me off. This place used to be the go to place for me, now it's not even worth 1 star!! Bad business!!!
BAD BUISNESS
Been here several times this will be my last. I showed up at 4:40p which was 20mins till they close. Google clearly says close at 5p The women at the window very rude said they where closed but yet there was truck pulling up behind me to scale weight out he got his ticket and got paid. I thought they were closed. I went back and asked for a manager and she said she was the manager but I'm almost sure that was a lie. I explained google said they close at 5p her reply was the guys get mad at her when people come in after 4:30p, so I guess her guys run the show. I suggest they change the hours on Google because 5p is a flat LIE.
I will start off by saying that I definitely wont be going back to this establishment. I have been going to this location for years before it was South Shore Metals. I never had issues until South Shore Took over. It seems like they just want to pay you what they want to pay you. On multiple occasions I will call to check prices before I go within 30 min of me arriving. But when I get there they say a totally different price and even when I told them I just called they still won’t honor it. It is definitely better salvage yards out there. Needless to say I will be leaving them behind in the New Year.
Just went here!! Scales are off 34 lbs. I got weighed with aluminum at 5800 pounds. I went back on the scale and I got waited at 5760 pounds but I only had 26 pounds of aluminum that’s 34 pounds off. I do this just to stick extra money in my son’s piggy bank, but there’s other places around here just right up the road that pay a little bit more and their scales were not off the last time I went there. Check your weight for what you offload get back on the scale check your weight. I think they have a way to manipulate it. Took a picture of their pay booth just to show that I was here today.
Very fast and convenient. The guys over here helped me unload my truck. They gave me a payment ticket right away. Got 26 bucks for a few pieces of aluminum
You can drive 10 minutes down u.s 41 and get 65% more money from edge metals.... And edge metals does not make you go on the drive on scale unless u have typical steel scrap..... The drive on scale rounds down at south shore metals.... Be very aware before doing business with them
They are quick and efficient! They took all the wire out of my car for me and weighed it out. I got the receipt, brought it to the cashier and within 5 minutes I had my money! They are polite and I would definitely use them again and again !
Easy to find. 2 entrie points. Scale guys are great and the lady's at the truck scale are polite and quick with getting you the correct tickets. Haven't had a bad experience. Also clean to where since going I haven't had a nail or anything destroy my tires. This is my go-to scrap yard.
Great place to buy material only downside the lady at the checkout is very unprofessional and rude to clients. She refuses to take clients after 4:30pm when the site itself does not close until 5pm
If you want to get the least from your weight go here you will love it they will rip you off gladly and even do it in front of you and tell you if you don't like it go somewhere else and you can't get your stuff back

Very great customer service and everyone was definitely nicer than a lot of other places I've been. The yard workers even took the time to show my boyfriend the difference between 2 items in their system so he understood the ticket.
The lady in the office denied me service even though I still had 10 minutes left. On this webpage it clearly says they close at 5 not at 4:50. That’s false advertising! I only had two baskets of wire and she wouldn’t let the gentlemen weigh it out. They didn’t understand why she wouldn’t let them if I still had 10 minutes before they actually closed. Ridiculous
