After weighing my steel I was told to pull outside the gate because of the number of vehicles waiting. I pull off wait a minute and ask for an update and I am told I'll have to walk up and get my money.. that's great except for I had more scrap to unload on the smaller scale and was denied access to it. Worried about getting off and rushing completely wasted my time and loss of money not to mention this load of crap is stuck in the back of my truck now. I am told a different time for closing the smaller scale depending on the day and who I am speaking with. Whoever is managing this group of men needs to do some more training and focus on how to treat the customers who are using the facility which in turn is how they're able to cash a paycheck.
It is not my job as a customer to try and explain why your employees think they can close the gate earlier than the closing time listed. I don't see where anyone should be made to pull away from the scale when they're materials are on it and told they will just have to walk up and get their money and unable to unload the rest of the items for the scale. I read the other review's on here some from years ago and this has been a problem and nothing has been done yet! I told you MY side of MY experience with YOUR company and employees. They should leave the gates open and not close them until the time listed! If you want to stop at 4:25 CHANGE the time so all your CUSTOMERS KNOW!
Google says open til 4:45 but when you go there at 4:15 they refuse your service and claim they close at 4:25 instead. I have a hydraulic trailer which takes 2 mins to go up and unload everything. Everyone’s so caught up into closing early and going home 5 mins early to play with their hands
Staff is welcoming & informative. They pay top dollar for scrap cashier Mrs Flo was super fast & helpful when it came to using the ATM will definitely be coming back!!

Smooth operation. People knew what they were doing the best prices I found so far in Jacksonville. The only thing I didn’t like was I had copper bearing motors that I’ve sold other places as copper bearing motors even though I stripped some of the copper out. That wasn’t a big deal because the price is on everything else amazing

staff acts like they are better than anyone put in the life situation where they have to be at the scrap yard scraping. I will no longer be using their service.
After going to CMC, dropping my steel, going back over the scale and pulling into area to take the non ferrous metals, I was welcomed with cones blocking my path. I explained that I was there before close. I had dropped my steel and just had a few buckets already separated to turn in. They wouldn’t allow me to do so. It was 4:02 and again I was already given entry to take the steel. I got my weight slip and money for the steel and looked up who was still open which led me to Abanti. The atmosphere was completely different. Everyone was pleasant and helpful even though I came in right before close. They educated me on some of my metal so I didn’t lose substantial money and took the metal that was 100% clean. They showed me how to check my copper and brass and advised me to separate it and come back so I don’t lose substantially. I will never return to CMC and Abanti has become my new yard.
The fine folks ( from owner to yard techs ) are all very professional and helpful. They want you to get the best price for your scrap. They always take the time to teach you the best way to scrap. They are courteous and always willing to help. Thanks
Something is seriously wrong with scale with wife in car it weighs the same as with me by myself but you cannot question them about it because it's ok as far as they are concerned I now have proof on receipts so be careful and watch the scale close

As a plumber I've been to lots of scrap yards. Never have I been to one as friendly. The guy who helped me was an absolute pleasure. He shook my hand and engaged in conversation. I didn't get his name but he had some cool piercings:) The prices for my metal were excellent! I'll never go anywhere else.

This is the 2nd day in a row that I arrived 15 minutes before they closed and was refused service. It's an hour drive from my house to get there, so it's a major inconvenience when they tell me that they are closed early.
Very knowledgeable staff! I went one other day besides today and the staff knew who i was, first and last name!!!! Good job Stacey....oh and Abanti is the highest paying scrap yard at the moment.
Great place to work and take your take your scrap the pay the most on scrap and they are friendly and quick in and out fast love them and love the yard it's clean and neat and sooo fast the fastest yard in town luv u guys
I'm amazed at how much higher their rates are than so many others that are in this line of business, for example most of the other yards were paying about $5.50 and these guys were paying $6.25 -- that's amazing
The yard is relatively clean, and the process is quick with no long lines anywhere
Called about what time abanti would be opened due to not wanting to make the trip,considering the distance between home and abanti is about 30-35 miles one way, and the guy told us 5 (called roughly around 1:30).
We get to abanti at 3:45 on the dot and the gates were closed. Long story short if you close at 3 or 4 atleast be truthful, instead of lying so that someone else won't make the trip we did and arrive to closed gates and frustration.
I have been going to Abanti for 4 years now and never been treated wrong...they have always been really nice and polite....they also keep the ground cleaned up while at other scrap yards I have gotten nails and steel in my tires but that has never happened at Abanti. ...it's a great place to go!!
