I’ve been there numerous times and have no problems at all. Just put the trash in appropriate containers as directed. Very convenient. Happy it’s there but wish it was open an extra day or two.
I have had nothing but good experiences at this place even before the change in our garbage service. It is very convenient especially since we are now limited to our one can. At this time of year it is a great resource to utilize.
I read the complaints, but this is so convenient. No one has ever been rude to me. I go about once a month. Once you understand the routine, it is awesome. I have waited in the Rosemary Landfill Line 2 hours to drop off paint because this facility does not take household hazardous waste.
Why are some people allowed to come through with trailers loaded up but other people are turned away for the same reason? someone audit this place please.
Super stoked to go through loading 3 different vehicles with 3 different drivers to clean a house out because DESPITE the fact that this place is only open three days a week it's OnE lOaD pEr DaY. SUUUPER thought-through, very scientific. My first "load" was like 5 lamps, and while I was there I watched a dude come through in a dually with a big long trailer piled up with stuff. A whole house! But what I had was "one load", and he had "one load". Come on man. I know this is Clay County but we gotta get our thinking caps on. Not to mention the professional wrestling fan running the joint acts like he had to get an MBA to get the job. Ease up big fella
The guy working there is unprofessional. When we pulled in, he says “nope, get out of here. I’m not taking that” while waving his hand to literally shoo us away. We did have more than what was listed on the sign as we pulled in, so I do understand being turned away.. but there’s no reason to be a complete jerk. And why couldn’t we offload what could be accepted in a single visit?? Also, link the website to the google listing so people can easily find what is and is not accepted before arriving. I eventually found the list online, but it was well after we wasted our time heading over that way.
since the new transfer station manager came in about a year ago , this place is very much improved. The attendants are all personable and attentive. the place is well kept.
Awesome Attendant, always enjoy speaking with this Gentleman. He is always willing to help me with unloading as I am a disabled Vet who cannot do the heavy lifting.
Since this new guy started working at this site the road is in way better shape than before, the overall appearance has greatly improved as well. He also will give a hand if it's needed. He seems to take pride in his job and that something not seen these days.
The ladies that ran it for so many years were in my opinion worthless and I'm glad they're gone.
Sean is always a lot of help and very positive trying to help others. Most the issues is lack of knowledge on rules for the Environmental Convenience Centers. They should be posted on website. If you don't know, ask for them when you pull up to speak with Sean. I asked why we can only make one run a day? Sean said it is to try to be fair to others. Last Saturday over 400 people showed up and the center had to be closed 2 hours early. I asked about the 2 panels complaint. Loss of space in dumpsters because they are so long. He said it would easier if people cut them in half when making dump run. Most boards, or tree limbs, have to be cut under 4 feet. Just work with him. By the way thanks for taking care of the roads into and around the center. Finally someone got that right.
This is called a "convenience" center? Only open a few days a week. Weird rules. This is hardly what I would call convenient. I have a feeling these reviews do not matter to them at all, so this is probably an exercise in futility. How 2020 of them.
One pickup truck load a day. But a guy with a pickup and a 20 foot trailer can dump his load that’s three times bigger then mine and he is a commercial yard person. I need maybe two three trips to dump the yard debris. THAT I could set at the crib and make them pickup. But I choose not to have it sit in front of the house. How about helping us out here.
Had yard trash and 6 pieces of 2x4. Longest 2x4 was 60 inches long. Guidelines say they will take 6 ft x 6ft panel. My math says 60 inches is less than 6 ft. Was not allowed to leave anything. Attendant totally unprofessional. Boss at Rosemary just as unprofessional. Obviously only want to collect revenue but provide zero service ice. Both should be fired! County needs to seriously look at this disservice.
This place is a waste of tax payer money. The county does not have updated info on the website of what is and is not accepted at the site. The employees make up the rules for them selves so they do not have to work. Sign on the gate does have a list of acceptable and not acceptable items example two fence panels per day. No size mentioned, employee said not acceptable even through the panels where loose boards not two full panels which are 6x8 ft Anyways once again waste of money and time.
If you bring 1 (one) single item that cant be disposed of at this center, no matter how small, you cannot dispose of ANYTHING that you brought and must take it to Rosemary Hill. This isn’t a convenience collection point, it’s a pain in the arse and a waste of county money. They wonder why so much garbage ends up in the woods when they make it so difficult and expense to dispose of anything.
This center is useless and a huge waste of taxpayer dollars. It is to the point now where they will hardly accept anything. Close this place down, sell it and put the hard earned taxpayers money squandered on this site to better use.
Only time I have issues is when the recycling containers are stuffed full (what part of "break down your boxes" do people not get?), or if they are missing entirely. Otherwise, the site performs its function just fine.
After 8 months out in clay county still cannot get them to pick up all the trash out at curb side. Ready to bring it to waste managements office step to drop off! If your guys rip bag and just put back in can instead of the truck there is a problem.
