While I've only used RCI 2X, I've been treated fairly, charged at or below "competitive" shops, and never required a follow up trip for anything missed and/or wrong.
This is the only place I will take my jeep. They do phenomenal work every time and I'm happy to be a customer of theirs. I'm sure as everybody knows when you own a Jeep. You empty every pocket, but this place makes it much easier to empty the pockets knowing that you're getting good work for the money you're spending
Review of RCI4x4 (LS Swap Service)
I had RCI4x4 perform an LS engine swap on my Jeep, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing both financially and mechanically. I was assured up front that they regularly perform LS swaps and that everything would go smoothly. What I encountered instead was overcharges, questionable workmanship, and a lack of accountability.
Billing & Overcharges
• My final invoice contained changes from the earlier estimates. When I broke it down afterwards, several charges did not add up.
• I was told I would receive a 15% military discount on labor, but the final bill ended up being about 15% higher than the estimate—effectively canceling out the discount. Despite raising this with the owner, I never received a resolution.
• I was billed $663.24 for 6 quarts of transmission fluid, even though the transmission takes 12 quarts and the oil came with the transmission. The owner himself admitted he wasn’t sure why this was charged.
• I was billed $500 in labor to install headers (on a crate motor) plus $400 for the headers themselves—headers that cost $199 direct from Speed Engineering and were the wrong type (Camaro/Nova headers, not Jeep).
• I was billed $1,200 in labor just to connect the headers to the existing exhaust system. Parts were billed separately.
• I was charged $213.07 for a “multi-purpose bearing” with no clear explanation of what this part was for.
• There are many more overcharge examples on the invoice.
Quality of Work
• The headers installed were incorrect, rubbing against the firewall and major exhaust leaks. This led to severe fumes inside the Jeep, forcing me to drive with the windows down just to breathe.
• After returning the Jeep for “repairs,” the problems got worse, with backfiring and running rough.
• A Midas technician confirmed the headers were the wrong ones and refused to even attempt a repair because of how improperly everything was installed.
• RCI4x4 repeatedly claimed they bought a complete LS swap kit from RPM Extreme, but when I contacted RPM Extreme directly, they confirmed RCI only purchased a wiring harness. This at least explains the wrong header issue.
Customer Service Failures
• Despite multiple attempts, the owner never followed up with me about billing issues or the ongoing problems.
• When I reported the continuing exhaust issues and that another shop confirmed the headers were incorrect, the response I got was simply: “Those headers came with the package so I don’t know what to tell you.”
• After fewer than 500 miles on the new motor, the Jeep broke down on the highway. The alternator (which the mechanic said looked like it came from Amazon) failed, and I had to pay for towing and replacement out of pocket.
• A subsequent mechanic also found the transfer case to be leaking, adding yet another repair to the list.
Final Thoughts
In the end, I had to spend a lot more money at another shop to correct RCI4x4’s work. Between inflated charges, incorrect parts, poor workmanship, and lack of follow-up, I cannot recommend RCI4x4 for LS swaps—or for any significant Jeep work.
If you are considering an LS swap, I strongly suggest researching reputable specialists, contacting companies like RPM Extreme for trusted recommendations, and not relying solely on online reviews. My experience with RCI4x4 was costly and frustrating, and I hope this helps others avoid the same situation.

Someone botched the install of my metal cloak drag link and tie rod and stabilizer wich left my jl steering all out of wack.. Eric took care of it and had my jeep back to day 1 feel great job no hassle they go the extra mile to make sure it's all dialed in.
I had an indecent occur on the interstate and afterwards I had death wobble. the guys at RCI were great at diagnosis and the solution Jeep rolls great. (2022 Jeep rubican Deisel 5" lift on 37's)
They diagnose my car and Was honest with me and told me it was something that can be fixed at my dealership under warranty. Thank you for checking out my car and for your honesty. If my dealership honors the warranty you just saved me a lot of money.
Went in for an oil change and "free" inspection.
Was told I needed over $4200 worth of work.
Took it to my old garage and everything was fine but a air filter replacement, which their charge was $128!
Well I told him the key was not accepting to the key immobilizer or the cluster in the dashboard and they told me it was the cluster instrument cluster so I bought an instrument cluster for $150 they charged me $230 to tell me it was the cluster put the cluster in which the cluster is guaranteed from where I bought it from and it's doing the exact same thing a week later after I got the cluster and put it in it was doing the same thing I called them up it was a Thursday they did not call me till Tuesday the next week so I paid $230 for the diagnosis that was wrong and bought $150 part that I shouldn't have had to buy what do we do I told him what was going on with it I thought I don't know people with experience through these things I noticed at that Jeep place so they you guys got nothing but newer models so you're more working on the newer models cuz I get it you get more money through that I just want my Jeep running that's all I thought I thought somebody would figure that one out but it's not that it's not the instrument cluster have a good day
Just had a recent experience with RCI 4x4 and let me tell you I am not impressed , let’s start out by saying when you tell someone that you are 100 percent for sure that you can fix something then you better make sure next time that the words come out of your mouth ,you back them up with your expertise, and just so you are aware I am the one who diagnosed the vehicle in the first place and I don’t care what the dealership replaced the fact of the matter still remains that you charged us 2600.00 and we had to tow the vehicle to and from facility, therefore when the vehicle left your facility it was not fixed…. Your customer service is horrible , you don’t return calls as you promised and your diagnostic capabilities are worse then a typical backyard mechanic..Look what it boils down too is YOUR WORD is not valuable and this is a small town so keep this up and hopefully I will get the opportunity to see your establish down……… Stop ripping people off and treat them fairly….

Ordered some sway bar disconnects from them. Picked the up when promised. Very easy to deal with them and got exactly what I needed. The system they use is simple to order and pay for parts/service... If they were closer I would use them all the time for my regular service.
I give these folks five stars because they are dedicated Jeep professionals. Their tech and marketing is pretty outstanding, but when you go there, you know your jeep has found a home. Low-key, straightforward business operation. Just like most of my fellow Wrangler-Heads would appreciate. Outstanding customer service and just really a nice bunch of down to earth folks to do business with. My new soft top is beautiful, and perfectly installed! And we are continuing to update, my previous customizations. (Below is the "before" pic)
Wish I could give these clowns zero starts. Brought my Jeep to them - not running. Told them what the problem was. They totally ignored me. Told me I needed an oil pump which I know is not the problem. I've built enough engines to know but medical problems prevent me from doing the repairs myself. Told them not to do the work. Had my son-in-law pick up the Jeep with his trailer. There is a note that there is no oil pump!
RCI was extremely knowledgeable and helped me with an inspection when purchasing a new vehicle. They clearly knew jeeps inside and out, and they helped point me in the right direction and avoided some risks when purchasing a new jeep. They went as far as showing me firsthand everything I was questioning. In the end, I'd 100% recommend them, Service was quick thorough and knowledgeable.
Great shop, done right the first time. Always take my Jeep to them for quality work. Had new front suspension components installed to eliminate death wobble. They fixed issue and rides great.
Customer service was excellent. The installation of my truck bed went well as expected. What I really like was the attention to the details of the job and the helpful information that was included during the process. I would highly recommend them for any service needs.
Great experience with RCI Jeep, David gave an honest assessment of the issues with the Jeep I purchased. They took a lot of time explaining options and what needed to be addressed first. I would recommend this business, especially if you have a jeep needing any type of repairs.

I've heard about this shop, I looked it up, and it met my expectations. I've taken this trk to Tire Kingdom twice and they did balancing and alignment and never got it right! I take it to RCI it was road tested tire rotation and balancing NOW its Done RIGHT!

I forgot to comment before on my service done here, I wanted to thank the team at RCI for the work done in painting my jeep. I would say the team at RCI were very nice during the conversations and setting up the paint job. I will say the company they used did not represent a good image of there company which is a shame. But non the less I would definitely come back if anything happened with me Jeep here. Knock on wood it doesn’t but at least I know I will get good work here.
Very happy customer! RCI went above and beyond with installing my lift and putting on my new wheels for a good price (worth every penny!) on my Toyota Tacoma. They also checked everything and realigned after 500 miles! Will be coming back since I plan on scheduling a cab mount chop next with these guys
Had RCI install stage 3 Kings suspension on my 3rd gen Tacoma. They communicated with me during the process and I was stoked when I picked it up. RCI helped me with the purchase of running board steps for my Wrangler, installation, tire rotation, and alignment, along with other minor maintenance work. As a new Jeep owner, I really appreciate their assistance and patience; and they kept me informed during the whole process. When I picked up SeaWolf, she was clean inside-I couldn’t even tell anyone had been in my Jeep (we have horror stories from other locations).
