While driving my mother’s car I ran over an object in the road and it damaged the driver side door foot rest. Mr. Small Dent examined the vehicle, gave me an estimate and had my Mothers car repaired in No time and their work was Exceptional I will definitely use them again and refer all of my associates to them.
Wish I could give 0 stars, which is really not how I wanted that to go. I had a very good feeling about Mr. Small dent when I arrived and loved Craig and his father. A good, small family business is what I was looking for when I arrived.
I brought my car in for a bigger job:
- a large dent repair on the quarter panel of my car.
- a leak in my trunk’s drip rail repaired
- a full repaint (same color)
- they threw in a “””free””” repair of the drip rail on the roof of my car.
My complaints:
- terrible communication. They have a near 0% chance of answering the phone the first time. Also, it seems management is shared between the father and son and they do not communicate with each other what they say or do. I would speak with one and they’d be completely out of the loop with what work needed to be done and by when. I was told the car would be done in 2 weeks, after putting down a $500 deposit. After two weeks I began calling each day and being told it’d be done “tomorrow.” On Day 17, I receive the car with basically nothing done yet and that I should bring it back next week. They apologized and I was foolish enough to go back.
- Very poor quality work. Not one part of the above list was done correctly. Paint drips everywhere, a couple missed spots and debris under the paint. Photos attached. The trunk wasn’t even close to repaired, I had to finish it myself. The drip rail in the roof not only wasn’t fixed correctly, it now leaks worse than before by whatever they did. I had a couple spots of surface rust that were “treated” and my paint is already bubbling again. The dent was repaired to a degree that I’m satisfied with but MY BUMPER IS GLUED TO THE QUARTER PANEL. Photo attached. I bring it up and I’m asked “it wasn’t like that before.”
- price. I was effectively charged an additional $400 for “extra work that I asked for???” I don’t believe this was from dishonesty but just poor communication. I refused to pay that and we “met in the middle.” I feel robbed.
Tl:dr, all of the work was done exceptionally poorly, I was charged more than promise and their communication both internally and externally was abysmal. I think they are kind men and not intentionally dishonest but have no idea how to run a business. I was very patient and gave the benefit of the doubt time after time and left feeling completely taken advantage of.
Tell them Sean from New York sent you. Close to Depot Park and historical walk paths and trails, I was able to get my cardio in while my car got repaired. For any auto body work definitely check with them.

I went there to ask them the quotation for repairing a small dent on my car's trunk. Craig (the son) gave me a very affordable quote and fixed my dent on the same day.
He is very friendly and knows a lot about the stuff he is doing.
Overall I strongly recommend this place if you are looking to repair a dent affordably and in very less time.
March 22nd I took my car to get it’s bumper fixed. I was told that it would be ready by Wednesday the 24th. I went to get my car & I was told to come back Saturday the 27th. I went to get my car on Saturday & it still wasn’t fixed. Okay cool! I understand parts aren’t coming in fast enough due to covid. So now he said come back Monday the 29th. I go back that Monday & guess what ? Car still wasn’t fixed!!! I talked to another guy & he said come back @3pm. So I went back around 4:30pm just to give them more time. My car still wasn’t fixed completely I was told that my grill has yet to come in. So they would give me a call once it does. I waited a week for them to call & they never did so I went there 3 times just for them to tell me the same thing. TODAY WEDNESDAY APRIL 21st I go there & this man tell me that he has ordered the parts for my grill 3 times & they sent the wrong one. So with me moving I just tell him to put the old ones on. Then I ask for the center piece the grill he tells me that he didn’t order it because he would’ve had to come out of his pocket to pay for it!!!!! You mean to tell me I’ve been here 2 times before & you’re just telling me this ? So unprofessional! I paid him $230 to get it fixed & why wasn’t that included in the price ? He just needs to retire at the point! DO NOT RECOMMEND !
This is an honest man doing an honest man's work. I've been taking my cars to Mr small dent since 2008 before I graduated from UF. And I've been taking my cars back ever since I'm currently in Tampa area if I have anything with my car that needs to be done I will drive it all the way up there to have him work on it or I'll have that thing towed up there if it need to be. But I'll tell you this he's one of the most honest trustworthy and does great work at a great price and he's always on time and if he has an issue with time he'll tell you straight up he won't lead you on like a lot of auto body shops do. I'm so glad he's still in business and going strong God bless senior and Junior. Thank you for doing all the good work you guys done for me over the years since I was basically a college kid someone referred me over to him one of the towing companies and ever since then like I said I've been going to him you won't find a better guy to work with or work on your vehicle if he says he can do it he can do it I've seen work that he did for me on certain vehicle which was a Volvo where someone's drunk with no insurance smashed in the whole back end and I picked it up a week and a half later and it looked like nothing ever happened I had never had any leakage from water all the seals were tight for the trunk and everything and he even was able to align the axle because it got because it got pushed slightly and then I went for an alignment and never had an issue with it ever and not only that I showed it to other people and like pictures before and after and they were like you got that back in a week and a half shocked if you could say. But yes I did and once again if I can give small dent even larger amount of stars I would he should be a 5 out of 5 in my opinion again I've dealt with him since I was basically a kid and now I'm in my mid 30s so for well over 10 years. Keep on trucking guys take care and thank you for all of the great work you've done for me over these year's respectfully

Conversed with them about two weeks before dropping my car off to get the right parts. A week after dropping my car off, I call for updates on my car just to find out they decided not to do it. Never tried to get in contact with me about coming to pick up my car. Mr. Craig was seen driving my car around the city.
Nice guys, fair prices. Only came to get a simple patch job done. Bumper reattached, cut off a mangled panel underneath the car so it's not dragging. No new parts needed. That's pretty much the extent of what I'd come here for. I'd be looking elsewhere if I wanted serious body work.
If your looking for a nice paint job that isn’t full of orange peel this is not the place to go. Mr.Craig painted my truck and the truck looks worse then it did before, there is absolutely no shine on the truck what so ever. Not the place to go
This guy said 3 days to fix my car and took 3 weeks. He was very rude and communication sucks! He said he replaced my bumped and that wasn’t so because my bumper had marks on it and it was not aligned and my car was not aligned. Did I mention rude. And then told me I was unprofessional like he was getting a service from me or something.
Great work, family pop and son shop in Gainesville. They do great work, for cheap. The fixed a dent and paint it for half of the price I was offered at other shops.
If you would like a substandard job, lack of professionalism, and enjoy being lied to this is the place to go. I took my car in to be painted and have minor dents removed from my lift gate.The vehicle was painted and the dents were still in the lift gate. My intelligence was insulted when I asked why the dents had not been removed but the vehicle had been painted.The owner stated it was not discussed but clearly the price was too high for a basic paint job with no pin striping. The owner oversold his ability and did not live up to it. The owner also discussed with others he had did some work for free when truthfully he did the work in an attempt to save face for lies he told. If you desire to have quality work done this is not the place to go.
Took my truck for a bumper and some damage to both fenders. Extremely friendly, inexpensive, fast service and job was done ahead of time originaly quoted. They did a fabulous job on my truck. Looks practically brand new again. Thanks.
DO NOT GO THERE....THEY DONT FIX ANYTHING RIGHT. THEY FIX MY WINDSHIELD WELL WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX IT BUT NOW AS IT RAIN I GOT LEAKS EVERYWHERE ALSO THEY MESSED UP THR SEAL THE FIRST TIMR TOOK IT BACK AND ITS STILL MESSED UP NOW I GOT TO PAY AN EXTRA 200$ TO FIX MY WINDSHIELD. THEY ALSO WILL NOT ANSWER ANY OF MY CALLS. JUST A WARNING DON'T LET THEM DO ANYTHING TO YOUR CAR. MATTER OF FACT THRY DONT DESERVE ANY STARS.
A father and son run this business and are very kind, honest hard working individual. They qouted us 80% less then other auto places and were able to fix my husband radiator, bumper and hood without buying all expensive new parts. His estimate was free and unlike other body shops he actually took the time to look under the hood and not just on outside and qoute outrageous costs. He was able to give us a decent discount for paying cash and took the 8 hours he mentioned so my husband and I could still go out of town. He welcomed our calls to check on progressm. We were impressed at results and cost as it came below our low insurance deductible. I would highly recommend Mr Small Dent!
Painted hood of car. Sent me home with wet paint. Suppose to fix it. Kept car second time for a long time so I would think he did what he was suppose to do. Hood has dirt mixed in with paint according to a reliable auto painter. He was suppose to buff car twice, I do not think he did.Looks like he only polished it. Should of ran when he asked for cash when I dropped car off. Now it will cost an extra $100.00 to have hood done properly.
