If you have some time stop by this Salvation Army thirft store prices are outstanding for used items, unlike Savers which seems to be charging people store retail prices for used donated items. Which is insane, Salvation army ? will always get my donations, cash and support because they really help the community! God bless everyone ?. Good luck with your treasure hunting

What happened to the 3 ticket color sales every week? It was the only way you could not get ripped off. Everything in there is cheap Shein crap or cheap Walmart crap but at 50% mark up.

Great place. With lots of stuff. Not sure why they only have 3.8 stars. Very well organized and the prices are fairly decent compared to savers and goodwill. Certainly not like back in the day but that's inflation for ya.? good staff and good stuff. Make it your destination.

I own a small business and I work a lot of hours and don’t like to spend a lot of money on my clothes because I ruin them. I have to say that I absolutely love this location; not only for their selection but for how imaculate it is. How friendly and knowledgeable the staff is, and as I run on.. how beautifully organized and displayed everything is. A big thank you for all their hard work . These prices are still amazingly inexpensive .

Had a store credit for $10 I wanted to use. The cashier totaled my items and when I presented the store credit I was told I had to let the cashier know BEFORE she scanned all my items. This is ridiculous. Not a single sign stating anything. Do better.

Omg horrible pricing a shirt that was original if you bought brand new was only 8 dollars they where selling it for 24.99 omg that's outrageous scammers!!!!! Never coming here again!!!

Pretty good store, a big selection and cheap prices. Some clothes are in pretty bad shape, though, but most of them are fine. Friendly service most of the time but for some reason their card reader never accepts my card even though it works everywhere else and the staff doesn’t really seem to care. Has a toilet for customers.

What a horrible experience my sister and I had at this store. We were there to pick up a hutch purchased a few days before. While waiting for the employee that brings the furniture out, someone had dropped off a bunch of kids toys for donation. My sister happen to see that some of those toys were ones she has been trying to find for weeks at thrift store ( retail price is just too much during these times in the world) she was so excited the whole collection was there and started pulling them out to ask of she could by them, when a woman came out of the back and started yelling at her " Excuse me get out of there" "you don't belong in there, we don't do that here what's wrong with you" very taken back my sister apologized and told the woman about the toys, and said I want to buy them from you. The woman was so rude and aggressive the way she continued to hover over my sister and barade to get away from the toys. There was a lot more said but the point is this woman's attitude was HORRIBLE. I asked to speak to a manager at which time the woman proudly stated she was the manager. I was stunned that a MANAGER behaved the way she was. This location has lost a customer. Judging by the other reviews it looks like this store may need to make a change in their manager. She is a gross human with no people skills at all.

Had the worst experience this weekend. My sister and I were there to pickup a small hutch I purchased 2 days earlier. The man that moved the big furniture happened to be on break (and they wouldn't let us use the dolly to roll it out on our own) so no big deal we were ok with waiting at the dock for a bit. It was pretty busy there with a lot of drop offs, while we were standing there I happened to look down and see some of my daughters favorite characters in action figure and car form (Paw Patrol and Spidey and his amazing friends). Needless to say I got really excited as they are not cheap and hard to find in thrift stores. The few Paw Patrol toys I've managed to find at yard sales are old and don't work. I started to pick out several in hopes to buy them, when all of a sudden a women was bent over me loudly and rudely saying "EXCUSE ME! You can't be doing that!" I was so startled not only by her being so close but the extreme aggressive tone. (Now keep in mind if I had ill intentions I easily could have just put that box of toys in my car). I explained that I had just gotten excited because they were my daughters favorite and there was no way I could buy them on my own, so I was hoping I could buy them. "No! You can't. You can't be touching things back here! They aren't processed!" Despite her continued rude and aggressive tone I understood that items need to be processed into the system (I'm broke, not stupid), so I asked if I could provide my name and number so they could call me when they were. Again, extremely loud and rudely, she said "No! We won't do that! You shouldn't be touching anything here!" I could see that we were just going to go in circles and I was so flabbergasted by the extreme aggressiveness, so I said "No problem. I will put back the items that were given to you for FREE that I would have paid for." I did and stepped back to my car and continued to wait. At this point the women proceeded to stand there and chain smoke so she could ensure that I didn't touch anything else. My sister (being the awesome big sister she is), seeing and know how upset I was (I was really excited when I saw them), told the woman that it was really unnecessary, rude and unempathethic (ironic for someone working in a place that is supposed be helping people) and that their is a right way and wrong way to go about things. The woman continued to just say "it's not processed she shouldn't have been touching them!" No matter what was said. Finally she asked the woman if there was a manager on duty. She proudly said "I'm the manager." Then laughed.... Luckily, the gentleman we were waiting for came back from break and he and another employee helped us get the 2 cars loaded and apologized profusely for the whole situation. The whole encounter was not necessary, approach matters. Today I had to run to Aldi's, and my 3yr old asked me "Mommy can we go to the family store?" (That's what she calls it, she loves going there and showing me things), but I just couldn't do it.

So I buy a globe today… it has 2 price tags on it, one says $9.99, one says $24.99. I bring it up to the register, and she calls over a manager, who comes up, yanks off the $9.99 tag and says “there ya go”, charging me the $24.99. And walks away immediately. Absolutely horrid customer service in this location, and frankly the stuff being sold here is 98% common trash as well.

UPDATE. I’ve gotten used to the new set-up and I appreciate the opportunity to find high quality, used cloths at reasonable prices. I used to shop frequently at the Salvation Army when it was in Brooklyn, Ct. I dispise this new layout since they have moved. There are all these cubicles that you have to look at, shoes are scattered everywhere and the clothes are separated into 3 sections. I preferred the old layout. Long rows of clothes of the same type, some cheap some not. I can't stand traipsing through 3 sections. Also there is so much less inventory. I miss the old store. It stunk like cigarettes, but at least you knew where to find stuff.

This location is much bigger than other locations near where I live. They have more dvds for sale than any other location that I've been to. They are 2 dollars each. Its actually pretty nice in here, doesn't feel like a thrift store at all. I will be returning to this location. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is they said I have to spend atleast 5 dollars if I don't have cash. 5 dollar minimum for credit/debit.

I enjoy shopping here. I’ve found a lot of great pieces at decent prices. I was very much looking forward to stopping this evening when I saw that they’re open until 8, at least that’s what it says on google and I trusted it because it says they called to update their hours recently. I got there a little bit after 6 o’clock to find the store closed. Very disappointed.

Love this place!! The home decor section has some great treasures. I have decorated my house and the office I work in with some of the pictures I have purchased here. Any day spent at this Salvation Army...is a great day.

One of the stores I'm most loyal to and grateful for. It is true that prices have gone up since the store moved from Brooklyn, CT. That, though, is the policy of Salvation Army headquarters. Many Salvation Army stores I have visited in northern Connecticut have the same up-scale chic decor--and higher prices. This store has a remarkable, friendly staff and, as any thrift shop, a surprising inventory.

My daughter was bugging me about a dresser the have for 130 dollars I called and they said after 10 days they could discount it. I went there 12 days later and was told only 25% so I waited a month stopped in and tried again . The manager wasn’t in so I left my information. She didn’t even call me back I had to call her. She said it’s still 25% I am only going by the Salvation Army’s own web site that says a dresser with mirror is worth 28-104 dollars. So I guess they are back inflating prices I won’t go back

My husband and I visited this Salvation Army Store on April 30, 2018. We live in Storrs so it is quite a distance away but we had come to Killingly to shop at Lowes. I have to tell you that my husband I were both impressed with the store. Pricing on everything was much better than the store that closed in Willimantic. I hate to say that... lots of friends that worked there over the years... but it is true. Willi pricing tended to be haphazard... no one seemed to know much about clothing sales or pricing. At Killingly used tops from Kohls are priced between $1.99 and $3.99. A fair price! And, better name brands are priced accordingly. I do hope Salvation Army does open a store in Willimantic again. I would suggest having the folks at Killingly train the new workers. Big Hugs to the Killingly Store and also to any of the workers from the Willi store... I miss you!

We Keep trying to go back and shop with hopes prices will change and get lower . NOPE! Store is NOT well stocked like in the beginning when they first opened . Use to be fun to go , now just frustrating . Can't believe the high clothes prices for them getting free donations from us . Lately , parking lot empty and store very slow. No more long lines at the register . Magority of Shoppers have been complaining since they opened . Looking at the reviews many are still not happy . No changes are being made by management . Hmmmmm

The prices here have recently increased substantially. I'm not sure if there is new management or not but for donated clothes,furniture etc. the prices are continually climbing. I've noticed that traffic within the store has dropped significantly and this is probably why. Used clothing should be no more than half of retail. I'm extremely disappointed. Do not recommend.

They must've listened to you guys, because the prices were reasonable for things, cheaper than Goodwill in norwich. The furnitures hit or miss, but it was always like that. First time in the new store, honestly it doesn't look that great, everyone saying they spent so much money on it but it's just a bunch of pallet wood everywhere, and they didn't even put a floor in the place. It still looks ok for what it is. Bathroom could use a wash, I don't think they own a mop, but at least they have a bathroom now. Seems like there's less in this store but I like the layout.

The best Salvation Army I have ever seen! The selection of clothing is remarkable, it's like treasure hunting! I found a White House / Black Market pair of jeans, brand new with a tag for 8 bucks! The store has huge selection of designer brands. Plus store employees are amazing and very helpful! Well worth a trip!

I was very disappointed with this store. For heaven's sake, it's the Salvation Army, not Saks 5th Ave. Everything is way overpriced, especially considering that it's all donated. If I want to look for a blouse I want to go to the many racks that have blouses, not some here and some there and some way over there. I always donated all my things to them but I will not do this any more. I will now go exclusively to Goodwill or another Salvation Army store.

It's a beautiful store but let's be realistic this is a store for the poor it's not the gap or old navy, why does it look like those places? why are used suites 50 bucks? Why are used woman's shirts 60 bucks? This stuff is used if I'm going to buy it I may as well buy it new !

It's definitely a pretty store; very nice fixtures. The clothing seems to be better selections (and more new items) than the other stores they have. I didn't check the furniture prices but they had a lot of antique-looking furniture. Much of the clothing was on racks that are too tall/high and I could not reach these items (I am 5'1"). It seems this store has a larger selection of women's clothing - not much in children's sizes. It's also different that in the back of the store there are items for sale in the drawers - I don't think that is obvious to people. (Note this store just opened in March 2017, so older comments must be for a closed store.)

Walked into store and noticed the store was put together very nice. The clothing and other stuff was organized good. However the prices are really high on just about everything, especially for !used! ! And donated. I'll be donating my things to a store that actually helps the people instead of milking the people! Thanks

I visited the new Salvation Army for the first time today and I loved it. The new store is so much bigger and nicer than the old location. Words cannot do it justice. The decor is rustic and eye catching, they now have a public bathroom and they have a kids play area as well. The clothes are separated by quality, by premium brands and value brands. There are displays throughout the store with a variety of items on each. There are dressing rooms in each clothing section, and the shoes are on displays in the clothing sections as well. The price tags are no longer stapled to the clothing, which is great. They had a larger selection of higher quality items, some antiques, some appliances. It appeared that some of their prices have gone up with th move, but generally most of their prices remained comparable. There were several items without prices or baskets of items without prices, which is understandable as there will always be bugs to work out with any new store. I'm very excited to come back in the future and see what they have.

I really like this store, its a very good sized salvation army so if you've never been you'll have lots to look through. I didn't interact with the staff much but they seemed friendly enough. The store was as clean as most salvation armies will be, as far as selection you roll the dice when you walk into any thrift store, but with this ones size i think you'd be hard pressed to not buy something unless you are looking for something specific. I'd recommend this store to anyone that wanted to go thrift shopping
