What a gem this auto shop is. Dale is truly an amazing human being. My jeep was towed in there on Monday. He was honest and up front with me about when he could start working on it. Tues. late afternoon he called and said to start it it would need spark plugs and an oil change. I told him to go for it. He did that (and a few more due to jeep not staying running and alot of sludge. (It was wayyyy over due) They started working on it late Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday I received a call about where they were on the jeep. He asked how far i wanted him to go with repairs as there were multiple things wrong with it and what my limit was. I told him and he got done as much as he could and came in under budqet! Believe me when I tell you every light in my jeep was on and beeping at me every time i started it. Now it is running like it did when I 1st purchased it. I can't thank him enough it was a great experience working with Dale. He is honest, truthful and straight forward all qualities that are rare these days. So if your in need of a shop for auto repairs dont hesitate or sleep on this shop because it will definitely be your loss! Thank you Dale for everything and see you @ 3000 miles!!!
I had a broken wheel barring so I called them and they said 600. I got my vehicle towed there and they said that the axel was broken and it needed breaks. New price $2500. The thing is, i just did my breaks. I got the car towed home and bought a hub for less than 200 and a cheap axel. I am unexperienced mechanic who literally just broke his hand with a boxer fracture and it took me 2 hours for the axel and hub replacement. 2500 dollars for 2 hours of work? It should have took them less time than me because they actually have a shop. I don't trust mechanics anymore thanks.
Customer service was great! They got my truck in almost immediately and called me the same day with the diagnosis. Order the parts same day and had the job done the day after parts arrived. Overall they had the truck for just under a week. Very quick service. Overall A+ experience. Highly recommend!

Having co-owned the Chaplin Package store which is right next door. I have been having repairs done there for years.The work is always done correctly and in a timely fashion. The charges always seem more than reasonable. It's seems rare to find a garage that isn't trying to sell you repairs or parts that you don't need. Roy is as honest as they come. I never hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.
I was convinced that my power steering unit had seized up and had it towed to Family Auto. I left a note indicting that. They called me back the next day and said it was a faulty clamp. He said he fixed it while he was already under the and wouldn't charge me. Their honesty made me a customer for life.
Roy is the best mechanic I have ever come across. He wants to do things the right way and doesn't try to sell you stuff you don't need. I've been going to him for a couple of years and he is great at telling you what should get done when and how much it will cost. Honest mechanic who cares about his customers and gives a great price for superb work. Only mechanic I trust. He now takes care of all the vehicles in my family.
Great repairs by an honest mechanic - a rarity in this day and age. I do most of my own work on my vehicles, but for larger jobs, I bring it here. Depending on how busy he is, and if the repair isn't too complex, Roy can get it done in a timely fashion. He will also call you to give you and estimate on what the repair will cost you.
Had the truck undercarriage coated to protect it
This is a small shop with great service and 2 honest guys doing great work for a reasonable price We bring all our vehicles to Roy and Tim and recommend them to family and friends
Family auto was great 5 stars. They did everything they said. They were on time . and their price was great. I recommend everybody going to them. You won't regret it.
This is the only place I will take my vehicle to get fixed. Decent prices and the only place where I can bring a vehicle and be told nothings wrong (everywhere else likes to make stuff up to get more money. Esp when its a female customer) good customer service and fixes my truck quick enough that I dont have to suffer without a vehicle for days. Love, love, love it here!
Great mechanic (Ray) horrible customer service by Tim Barr. I brought my truck there back in May for an engine job, or which supposedly had a year warranty. As I'm a life time resident from Chaplin I wanted to support a local business. Sadly I learned the hard way that is not always the best way to go. Two weeks ago my truck was totaled by someone who ran a red light. I was asked to send proper documentation to show what work I had reciently had done. Unfortunately the body shop misplaced that paperwork. I called Family Auto and spoke with Tim Barr, he said it wouldn't be a problem and he would have them by the end of the day. This was on September 14th. It's now the 26th and my insurance claim can't be processed until they get the receipts. I just called again on 9/26 and Mr. Barr proceeded to tell me it is not his issue and hung up the phone. As a customer I am intitled to copy's of any invoices of work done on my truck. I'm not trying to make anyone look bad, But this is extremely unprofessional.i paid them 4500 for all the work, I certainly wouldn't have thought providing me with a copy of the receipt would be any issue. I truly hope no one gets in the same situation. I will be polite and not get into the fact that I was guaranteed one price which doubled once I crossed Tim.
Got a dealer estimate to fix a problem. Called Family Auto and they quoted me less than half that to fix the problem. Plus they corrected a previous repair that the dealer didn't do properly. Thanks Family Auto for taking care of my truck!
Great place to get your car fixed. The staff is knolageable and not afraid to explain what's wrong or tell you what you need to fix and what you need to fix right now.
