While my experience with personnel have always been great- whomever decided on the hours of operation needs to get a clue. 2 days a week on a Monday and Thursday during hours that a majority of residents are working is less than useful. Even less useful is being open less than 4 hours on a Saturday. If you work for a living or have kids in sports- you’re only making it to the dump if you take time off of work! Maybe be open a full day on Saturday and closed on Monday and less people would be dumping stuff in the woods near my house.
First visit there and it was exactly as advertised. You have to cross a small "bridge" that is actually a scale that weighs your car. After that, you go to the right and up the hill, and you'll see all the different containers to put your stuff in. For metal, it's towards the end to the left and you throw it over the side into a container below (blue paint on the wall says "metal" although it's faded a little and I initially read it as "Meta"). One of the employees helped me as I looked lost and he was extremely friendly and helpful.
This transfer station is the best I've seen in connecticut hands down. Everyone working here are true professionals. Super helpful. If they can't take something they let you know of places nearby that can.
This transfer station is always clean and organized. Rocky, the person who is always up top is the first one at your vehicle to help unload. He is always sweeping up in front of the unloading areas to prevent nails and debris from getting in your tires. all of the employees that work at the transfer station are super friendly and helpful. This transfer station should be an example to other towns on how to operate efficiently. Customer service is such a plus.
Friendly people work here. They are professional and helpful. Every time I go there it’s east and quick to get in and out. Ty for all you do. Especially during these times.
Very organized and easy to navigate. The staff was fantastic and very helpful as well. I didn't realize how much I'd enjoy getting rid of stuff. My girlfriend was impressed as well.
The web site said that they are open until 3:00 on Saturday. Drive all the over there and the winter hours are different. Wouldn’t be that hard to post winter hours.
