Reading these reviews, I will admit, I was super nervous going to Kara’s. I was so happy with this visit, Cheryl was so helpful and understanding and made my time there smooth and easy. I didn’t get the gentleman’s name that let me into the tow yard to retrieve my items from my car but he also was super nice and patient and helpful. I will say that not every experience is the same and maybe the negative reviewers should take a second to consider what they deal with on a daily basis and our problems aren’t theirs so we shouldn’t project our negative emotions on to them or their business because it’s not their fault nor problem. I, for one, had a great encounter with the staff. Thank you guys at Kara’s !

I Received A Price to move Equipment, and they Told Me $100, and than Called Me back and Said it would be $150 Plus Tax. Don’t Recommend, and won’t be Using this Company Again.
My company and family have used Karas motors for decades. from dump trucks to corvettes, to pieces of trucks, no matter where they are stuck or what kind of equipment they have attached, always a quick response and the proper equipment for the job. I heard Mike once towed a bus uphill by hand like the strongman competitions. But in personal experience always reliable and professional 24/7.
The woman with the rude attitude at the front desk is what brought me here. I believe she is the daughter of Joseph Karas, the owner..her entire demeanor /attitude needs to be address ..she was very DISRESPECTFUL,UNPROFESSIONAL,,NASTY.. .UNEDUCATED ON TAKING a credit card payment which is on there form ..ALL CREDIT CARDS ARE ACCEPTED!! all to dodge taxes AVOID this place it's garbage. You can't trump out of this

I rarely take the time to leave reviews on any business establishment but the woman with the rude attitude at the front desk is what brought me here. I believe she is the daughter of Joseph Karas, the owner of this place. She wasn’t nice at all, even when I requested for any documentation that provided proof of authorization to tow my vehicle from my PRIVATE residence she rudely told me “I’m not going to give you anything you have to contact your HOA”. Her entire demeanor and attitude needs to be addressed.
Please be aware that this place will tell you that they do not accept credit cards as a form of payment. JUST CASH. That is a complete bold face LIE. According to Connecticut LAW, they HAVE to accept credit cards as a form of payment. ***KNOW YOUR STATE LAWS PEOPLE!!!*** because this place will try to get over those people that are uneducated. Business policies cannot trump the LAW. PERIOD
Since they attempted to illegally hold our vehicle in exchange for a cash only payment, we had to request for police presence. Now all of a sudden, our credit card is accepted. Do not go back and forth with them if you’re told “cash only”. Just bring police with you. Just wanted to throw in there that the owner Joseph took the time to lie to police by telling them “We’re not even sure if this is his car”. This had the police officer very confused by this statement since Mr. Karas was initially presented with a title that provided proof of ownership
Left me on the side of Highway for 2 hours then cancelled tow truck . Because it wasn’t enough miles to tow . Well why did you take the tow in the first place . Thanks for nothing but wasting my time . I wouldn’t recommend this company .They deliver on excuses only . Lady answered phone with excuses on how it’s dangerous where I’m at while truck is being hooked on the opposite side of highway. If job is not worth it figure that out before you have people waiting 2 hours .
Well to start the representative that I talked with was very rude and very disrespectful.. secondly the site says that the company is open 24 hours.. to a person like me that works two jobs and different time shifts that is important to me.. however they are not open 24 hours.. so they should fix the issue immediately because I scheduled alot around their schedule and they are not open so now I have to rearrange my schedule..
The worst experience with a tow company. The guy try overcharge me after he got to pickup the truck with a really bad attitude. If he hates his job is easier just get someone else
These people are the biggest liars and scammers in Connecticut, they almost put me out of business by holding my truck for 7 months while putting a bunch of scrap parts on it and charging top price for the parts and labor. Lied about where the parts came "California " and the receipts say a junk yard I Connecticut and also braking other parts and covering them up. And also lying about why it was taking 7 1/2 months to do. I got so bad i had to call the police on them. I would never recommend them to anybody. Nothing I am saying is over exaggerated its actually what happened
Lady I spoke to on the phone was incredibly horrible. Rude, horrible tone to her voice, and you could tell just thru the call that she hated her job. I never review places but I sincerely want to save future “customers” money, time, and anger. No consideration for customers, and certainly is not looking to please them. Did not care about the issue I was having that initially rooted from their poor customer service. Don’t bother with this place.
Place deserves 0 stars. Towed my car, damaged my bumper and being really adamant in not taking responsibility. Clearly a damaged caused by tow in the bumper- guy tells me it's ages old damage even after showing him pics of it two days previously.

My family and I were on a road trip in our RV and our engine light turned on stating we couldn’t drive the RV. We called a bunch of different places and no one was able to come out. Until we called Kara’s. Not only were they able to come out to where we were at. They came pretty quick and thankfully they were able to resolve our issue and we were able to continue our trip back home. The mobile mechanic was super nice, professional and knowledgeable. So thankful to God that he placed them in our path. Thank you so much Kara’s highly recommended this business if you are in this area and run into problems with your RV.
I had a transmission and clutch go out and being a long haul driver from Kansas they helped me out by coming and towing my truck to there shop and Tony and Gunner put a new transmission and clutch in for me… Very professional service and great guys. Cheryl was very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone at anytime…
Thieves who use loopholes in the system to legally steal your possessions. I didn't even have a choice to have them tow my stolen motorcycle, and then they have the guile to persuade me that towing a 100 pound motorcycle a couple blocks costs over 400 dollars.
Just spoke to her about a lien that I had there, woman totally ignored what I informed her and kept providing me information that was frivolous to me. When I asked to speak with management she placed me on hold for 5 min only to return herself. This place is very unprofessional and not courteous, best thing to do is stay away!!!!
When a mechanic drops everything as you arrive with your car unscheduled and he takes the time to check it out, even hooking up a 'code reader' to diagnose; that is above and beyond expectations.
They are fair and honest.
My car needed a battery and they said I should go directly to the dealer which was running a special and would save me money.
They passed on my battery repair, so I could save - that's integrity.
if you tell them you would pay cash they would send a tow truck right away. On the other hand if you go through your insurance/roadside assistance they would let you wait 4 hours. They just want cash payment to dodge taxes.If they are in contract with insurance they should honor the arrangements. Their practice is obviously fraud and we're reporting them to IRS and their insurance companies.
