Putting up a sign in front pointing truckers where to go will be extremely helpful. You have a huge complex and it’s hard to find your way to the check-in office/scale.
Check in is at the scale across the street from the main 240 building, you will see the signs on the right DO NOT GO INTO THE SCALE right away you will have to go around the building through the scrap yard . Its pretty clean where you drive and then you get on the scale to check in. They will direct you from there. Hope this help . Be safe out there on the road. Very nice and respectful people in my opinion the guy loading was extremely careful on the trailer.
They paid me out on the low grade wire price when it was romex wire. I got $1.05 when it was going for $1.80 - $2.00 everywhere else. Didn’t realize till about week later went elsewhere with half the weight and got same amount money. So I started looking into how it happened and pieced it all together. Watch them and now what it’s worth ahead of time.
When calling they give you a price then when you get here they give you the lowest price for copper!!! So I called and ask for the price they told me if it was clean it was 3.90 a pound! When I get here I ask again they say the same thing then when I go to cash out they give you the lowest price because it’s not clean! Or #1 copper. And when you go ask them they don’t admit that they gave a price that they where talking to another customer it’s their excuse for not to own up to their mistake.
Even giving one star is 2 much bullshir excuse for ripping you off is the price of scrap is down.. City scrap in Hartford 180 gross ton. For 3000 lbs Albert bros paid out 45 dollars... DO NOT USE THEM......

This place is a BIG RIP OFF paid $10 for 800lbs of heavy steel & $1.87 for 400lbs of light iron every place in ct is 1000 times higher and better ....so if you want to make money (DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE YOU WILL BE SORRY THEY ARE THIEVES)
Even though is one of the best in Ct, prices are at the lowest level since since the pandemic started for example, for 460lbs of unprepared steel you only going to get $5.14 and automatically an adjustment is applied so at the end you only put in your pockets $5.00.
Absolutely amazing experience! If you have excess scrap metal, regardless of how much you have, Albert Bros will always be able to take your materials. After having two positive retail dropoffs of brass and silver, I can say definitively that Albert Bros gives you the best price for your money; I could not recommend them more.
The place takes a lot of unessasary time driveing around the yards in circles. For 2 full truck loads of iron they very low pay you when you know what it would have been at other scrap yards . I do not recommend this place unless you want to get ripped off by the polite staff. They politely rip you off. Worse place ever.
The staff is very friendly but they pay you like your picking cotton 2 full trucks and they gave $6 for light iron when if I go anywhere else will light iron it would have at least been 30 to forty dollars I don't recommend this place
The staff here was welcoming and professional. They all were friendly and showed me where to go to load up. I would be proud to come back and pull thier freight anytime.
They are now paying $15 a GT for iron on the retail side. Continental pays $60 a GT. Think about that before bringing any quantity. I got .01 for what I brought in the other day. Seems like theft to me. Also, they always deduct 2 pounds when using their buckets (they only weigh 1.8 pounds).

Ok place to sell scrap or buy metal. They don't even pay 5 cents per pound for light iron scrap, though. Also a bit of a hassle to sell scrap, as you need to go through the yard to the scale, then go to the yard again to drop your haul, then back to the scale, then park your vehicle, walk to the office, get your ticket, THEN finally walk to the ATM for your cash. Probably 3 steps too many in my opinion. I probably won't come back here to sell scrap, but I'd consider buying from them if I need anything.
i have been here a few times and every time i bring cooper or brass i bring it in bags or a cardboard box,that weight maybe 3 ounces per bag well say a pound per box to be more than nice all cooper and brass i bring its clean, solder and fitting free. and every time if i bring 30+ pounds you guys deduct 10 pounds out of the cooper $19.00 and another 8 pounds or so of the brass $8.80 a total of $27.80 to me thats called stealling and you guys get away it if you take for example 100 people a day that they do that to they are stealling well over $2,700 a day nevermind the other scrap metal on the big scales so for 300 days out of the year because of holidays and you dont open on sundays it ads up to $810,000 dollars i no its a lot more so not only are you stealling from hard working people you are also not paying taxes on well over a million dollars a year not to mention how many years you guys have been doing this for someone should look in to this its not fear to anyone that you guys do this
Went today and got acused of threating a works wife for a ring just cause I had a sliver mini van , they called them shelves gang members n threated me N my brother after the 1st worker who threated us faked apologized old white man grab my id threw n told the last give them the money n get out don't ever come back which isn't a problem cause I have job but where are the CAMERAS WE ASKED TO SEE OURSELVES Threaten anyone we only talked to two works who told us to break are acs down VERY UNPROFESSIONAL want to file a city complaint they are a trash of a company after what I witnessed ASKED MUTIPLE TIMES TO SEE CAMERA
It's a big open space where you can easily maneuver your truck but they do not give a good price on scrap. There are places where you can make much more per pound.
Always an issue with me bringing scrap in. Never had any illegal crap with them. And before anything they always want a receipt for where I found scrap metal. Incredible.
Inside people and owners excellent customer service some scale operators take advantage of you not being knowledgeable of metals I had another customer stop and help me before he did
