Robert Xeller's, single-star review sums it. Won't ever use this place again. Told me I needed a new engine for my '03 Land Rover Discovery and offered to take my car off my hands..for free. Took it to a reputable repair shop. Story was BS. Turns out it needed nothing but proper antifreeze coolant. Driving it today w zero issues. Avoid this shop.
Just picked up a car transport trailer. Super friendly owner qho helped us hook up and took the time to go over use of it. There was a uhaul service rep there as well who was helping and very friendly too. Definitely go here for your uhaul needs!!! Thanks again Madison Motors!

I have a 2016 mini cooper and brought it in for a diagnosis regarding spongy brakes.
I had previously taken it to a local shop in Guilford CT (where I live) and was informed my brake line had collapsed and my calipers were bad. I was cautioned that if I didn't have the repairs done, it was a safety issue and my wheel may fall off and my brakes may fail.
I was quoted $1600.00 for the repairs.
I drove it to Madison for a 2nd opinion (no my wheel did not fall off) and I was informed my brake lines needed to be flushed.
I had Madison flush the brake line (calipers seemed fine), and voila problem fixed.
I have been driving for a while (wheel intact and brakes are fine).
I cannot thank Lars/team enough for the fantastic service, honesty and saving me at least $1000.00.

Steer clear at all costs. If you want your car to actually work don’t go here - plus they will invoice you for random stuff you never thought you needed and rip you off
I have my son's Jetta and my wife's Volvo serviced at this place for the past 10 years. They do great work for fair prices. Most importantly, they don't try to find issues like your regular dealership. They only do what's needed and/or what you ask for. Both cars are well over a 100,000 Miles and never had any issues. I'm glad I have them in my neighborhood.
Lars rented me an open trailer to move a generator. He is very friendly knowledgeable and an Eagle Scout and having been a scout myself I know how hard getting eagle is and how trustworthy eagles are.

Madison Motors saved my jeep TJ from setting in the barn gathering dust for the rest of it's days. They basically fixed or repaired everthing you could on the thing and knocked it out of the park!
This is definitely the place to go if you're into multiple return visits, unqualified techs performing work on your vehicle, and simply paying for services either never completed, or completed wrong. Perhaps I should have researched more than I did... because the shop reputation is lackluster in the industry circles, they can't keep talented techs because of bouncing checks, and parts take forever and a day because Lars isn't trustworthy enough to get them from the distributors unless he pays ahead. Both my son's truck, and my car were brought there for work... laughable results, if the safety of your child is something you are not interested in. Brought both vehicles to another mechanic who's work has been highly regarded for the past 50+ years; he was appalled by the work done when he reviewed all the receipts. Nothing was done correctly. My son almost died while on the highway because his brakes went out, his rear end was never actually connected to the rest of the truck, and all his cylinders required replacement - and I have the receipts showing the work supposedly done, that was not. My family will never again return to that pit of despair and pain, and neither should anyone else who wants to live - they are unqualified to work on anything. Please, heed my warning and find a garage who will do the work needed correctly, and stand by the work they have done wrong. In case you are unclear... Madison Motors is definitely not that place.
Lars is the man! He and Gregg are efficient, honest and knowledgeable.
It gets diagnosed and it gets done! End of story! If you want to not have to worry about honesty and professionalism in a car shop, go here. Lars spent many years with Land Rover and was referred to by a mutual friend. Nobody touches my vehicle but Lars, Greg and the guys from Madison Motors! Highly recommended from a car guy who’s been around ’em since age 5! Go here with no fear! Tell them Leo sent you.

Lars runs a far-superior business to Mike Holland in Guilford. I've had My LR worked on by both. Was so happy to find Madison Motors. Couldn't leave Holland Family fast enough. Lars is the best.
This is a great place if you have a forein car and for Land Rovers. They do great work with all the cars they get and when you get them back there is never a problem. They also sell cars but the prices can be expensive for the cars they sell and what they charge. In all if you have a unique car you should go here.
My Wife and I have been getting our BMW’s serviced at Madison Motors for about 6 months and I will never go to another mechanic after finding these guys. They are very reasonable with their pricing and they don’t bs you around like other places just to rack the bill up. The owner is also very knowledgeable and friendly which is a change of pace compared to past mechanics I had. Overall Madison Motors is a must for your next car check up. Plus if you own a foreign car, you can’t beat the price here.

Great place full of friendly and knowledgeable mechanics. Great selection of classic Land Rover's as well. Can build just about anything you can dream. Lars and his crew are wonderful.
