Was going to RJ for years but recently I've ran into some situations with him. 2021 had my right rear shock fixed and it broke in 2022. Had it fixed and it broke again within 2 months. Broke 4 times from 2021 to the beginning of 2025. THAT'S NOT NORMAL!! Meanwhile I had the left rear shock fixed someplace else in 2022 due to RJ being sick or couldn't get me in & had no issues because they fixed it right. The 4th time it broke I said enough is enough and had it fixed by the same person who fixed my other shock. Found out that he didn't replace the mount. This also caused me to replace several new tires as well. Another issue I had was when I lost all my antifreeze he replaced the housing hose and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting heat when my car was idling. I only got heat when I pressed on the gas. He didn't take the time to get all the air out of the system. I had looked at my dashcam footage and didn't see it was done. I did go back to him to see what he'd say and basically it was fine and the air would work itself out. REALLY!! Yet it was brutally cold and it defeats the purpose of having a car starter. I had called someone else who took the time to get the air out and did it right. There's a few other incidents I had and it's a shame because I had been going to him for years. Unfortunately with the most recent experiences I've had I don't recommend.
You don't get any better than RJ. He is one of the last honest repair guys on the planet. 10/9/23 RJ just fix the front breaks (pads + rotors + fixed rusted, stuck calipers) on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma for $529.84! Weeks before I brought the same job to Hoffman Toyota in Canton and they wanted $1800. I left and called RJ for an appointment 2 weeks later. Saved $1,270.16. :)
Awesome, professional. Great pricing. They really know their stuff. Especially RJ. The man who runs the shop. He's straight up with you. He won't bs you. Highly recommend for your car's needs.

RJ is an old school mechanic with the knowledge of a modern mechanic. He is brutally honest and wont let you throw good money after bad. He helped me resurrect and old Volvo that was headed for the scrap yard. He doesnt have any secrets is a big help with info even when I'm on the road and cant bring my vehicle to him. He is the type of mechanic that was around 50 years ago and is a dying breed.
RJ has been our family mechanic for years. By that I mean he has kept our family's fleet of old/used and uniquely problematic cars on the road and running strong without breaking our banks. We have called him up for emergency fixes and he's fit us in, and always impresses with how timely repairs are. He also is a great referrer for other work (such as auto-body work) that they don't do there. Last night, my dad said of RJ - "I don't know why anyone goes to anyone else." Highly recommend!
RJ is extremely competent mechanic and also an honest one. I trust Litchfield Filling Station more than any other garage I have used in my 35 years of owning and selling cars. I won't go anywhere else.
