Believe all of the good reviews! Ron’s Automotive was efficient, kind, and very helpful. Will come back for my automotive needs! Update: I’ve taken my car back multiple times for different reasons and if I could give them 6 stars I would!!! Amazing, as always.

Second time going to Ron's, excellent service per usual! Jay the manager was great, Myra and Riley were so helpful too. I highly recommend this garage if you need service done! The quote I got was exactly what I was charged!

Absolutely phenomenal service! I was only in town to visit a friend for Thanksgiving when my car suddenly flashed an error message right before my long drive home. Being unfamiliar with the area, I was anxious and worried I might get taken advantage of. The moment I arrived, the gentleman who assisted me—and his entire team—were incredibly kind, gentle, and professional. They took my concern seriously, checked my car immediately, and walked me through what was going on with patience and clarity. What really stood out was how fast and honest they were. They didn’t upsell, didn’t exaggerate the issue—just straightforward, reliable service. My car was fixed in no time, and I left feeling relieved, grateful, and truly impressed by their integrity. If I lived nearby, this would absolutely be my go-to auto shop. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for trustworthy, top-tier service!

This place was amazing. Took my wife’s car in and had it up and running in no time. Highly recommend Ron’s

Ron's automotive stands by their work. We were not satisfied with our initial visit to correct a suspension problem. Ron and his staff made good until the issue was fixed right.

This esteemed establishment is celebrated for its outstanding service, which comes highly recommended. The staff's courtesy and expertise make this shop a highly advisable choice.

I left with the same exact problem I came in with. I will never be back even though I live around the corner. I told them on the phone what the problem was (had already been diagnosed by a reputable shop) and they decided to change spark plugs instead and charge me $500+. Super condescending towards women. On my way out I dropped my credit card while trying to hustle my young kids out the door and Ron made a joke that I have money to throw around. Not cute after taking money from me and sending my family away in an unsafe vehicle.

We brought our car to this shop for a repair estimate, and they asked us to leave it overnight in their parking lot. They called the next day with the estimate, but we decided not to proceed with the repair. When we picked up the car that afternoon, we discovered it had been damaged in the front—apparently hit by another vehicle while on their lot. The shop claimed they were not responsible for anything that happens in their parking lot and also mentioned they do not have any security cameras. We were very disappointed with how they handled the situation. Just be aware before leaving your vehicle there.

Highly recommend! We moved our automotive maintenance and care to Ron’s due to the honesty and reliability we received while “testing” out their services vs where we had previously gone. We found the prices reasonable and trust their professional recommendations on what is an urgent repair vs recommended. Never once did we feel pressured to have a service done. Any repairs and services have been done in a timely matter. If an issues did arise that caused a delay we were given adequate time to make sure we didn’t need the vehicle. They have earned our business.

One of the best auto shops in Connecticut. I was having issues with my car, and had brought it to Firestone initially. However, they started to give me the run around on ordering the part I needed for months stating it was “back ordered”. I called Ron’s and spoke to Mayra in the office and she was able to order the part for me the same day, and within 24 hours my car was in the shop. During that time, another part was needed and they communicated it to me, and also had it delivered by the end of the day. I couldn’t be more happier and recommend a LOCAL automotive shop that truly cares about their customers.

I brought my car for service. Parts ordered for my car several times. Keeping the car longer than any car should be in a garage. A month to be exact. Finally, after a month, the parts in and the head mechanic was working on the car with the battery hooked up and the gas line was leaking . The car caught fire , I asked how and when. I heard 3 different stories from Ron's establishment. When Ron's reported it to his insurance company, it was a secret according to the insurance agent . The insurance agent had to tell me when the car caught fire. Ron's couldn't or wouldn't tell me. WHY? Ron's has a very deceptive crew. I will and no-one should ever bring their car to them . They won't even pay for a week of rental for me. DON'T BRING YOUR CAR TO RON's if you want it done right.VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. HE IS ONLY IN IT FOR HIMSELF NOT THE CUSTOMER.

Ron's is a place you never want to go to. Don't walk. Run away from the place. Absolutely horrible. The owner Ron should watch over his inadequate crew instead of always being out getting his haircut or on vacation. I brought my car there in hopes of it being fixed by qualified mechanics. The car was there for a month. All the calls I got were Uh, we ordered the wrong parts. How many times can you order the wrong parts! Apparently, never diagnosed the problem from the beginning just wanted to rush it. They did mange to put a coil and a battery in to the tune of 900$. Well, that didn't work. So one incompetent worker thought maybe it's the fuel injector but somehow the car caught on fire as said by his crew. To which me and my husband heard three different stories of how the car burnt to the ground. His amateurish assistant Jay, starts chanting a song when my husband arrived at their shop "Get a new car. Time to get a new car". Really???!! is this what you say to a customer who just heard their car burnt to the ground?

Ron’s Automotive is the kind of place that you wish existed everywhere. My family was headed to Pennsylvania from Rhode Island when our car started to have brake problems. We went to a local chain place first and they weren’t able to helps us so I found Ron’s. They got our car right in and Ron was super dedicated to getting us back on the road asap. Turned out that the car had much bigger problems than what we could afford but they really did everything they could for us. They’re affordable and friendly and Ron genuinely cares about his customers. If we lived closer, this would be my go-to mechanic. You don’t find places that care these days so I highly recommend them. If you live nearby or if you’re driving through and need work done, come here. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Ron is a great guy. I gave him a call about some tires and I couldn’t get the bead off. He snuck me right in and had those tires off the rims in minutes. He also did it for a great price. Again super nice guy and I will definitely be going back.

I've been happily going to Ron for about 10 year, and wish him well in his new location. Ron has always been a straight shooter, reviewing needs and options, and treating my wife and I with great respect. Workmanship and service has been top notch. If I had to sum it up with one word, it would be"integrity". Update - 6 years later (2023) Still impressed with Ron's service and caring. Ron and his staff continue to care from my growing fleet of cars and continue to treat my wife and children with professionalism. Whether it be investigating a warning light, searching for an oil leak, or replacing brakes, the staff at Ron's communicates well, offers options, and provide great service. Updated April 2024 Ron's to the rescue. I appeared unannounced at the garage at 8:15 am, with a slow leak in a tire. Ron had me back on the road by 8:45 am. Thanks for the continued service!

Only place I trust! I have an 03 Ford Mustang I’ve brought in a few times for various fixes and Ron & team have been quick, reliable and more than fair with pricing. As a young woman I’m often worried about getting overcharged and I’ve never once had to worry about that here!!

We’ve been using Ron’s for years! Ron and his team are absolutely amazing. The only place I go and trust to get any work done on my car. Recently I was having an issue with my breaks and had plans to head out of town the next day. Ron and his team were able to accommodate me last minute and get me back on the road so quickly. I would highly recommend you check out Ron’s. They’re honest and knowledgeable and most importantly they care!

My truck had an endemic engine problem that the dealer could not fix, even after multiple visits and oil flushes (that I had to pay for). Ron's not only fixed the problem, but they did not replace parts unnecessarily until they were sure those parts were needed to fix the problem. On top of being competent, they are honest. I highly recommend them.

Had to get my wheels balanced and an alignment before a long drive to a car show, I called a day prior and they said bring it in the morning. I didn’t say I needed it absolutely done before a went to work, I should’ve asked that when making the appointment. But after many phones calls and talking to Ron in person he said he too should have asked and it was just a mess up on everyone’s part. Gave me such a fair price, even let me run home and grab my wallet which I stupidly forgot. Super happy with the car and appreciate the guys at Ron’s so so much.

after getting the run around from a toyota service repair telling me first its this, no its something different, then saying no we found the problem " all of your fuel injectors are no good due to possible fuel contamination" for a quote of about 7200.00. this is a 2017 toyota tacoma truck with only 22500 miles on it. I was at a superbowl party and telling some friends about it and after i left they told some friends of theirs that came after i left and they told them to tell me to I should bring it to Ron's automotives. so I had it towed to Ron's. he called me five hours later and said i have good news and bad news. the bad news is its the Hi flow fuel pump and that cost about 4000.00 but the good news is I called a friend at the Hoffmans service department and he looked up your VIN number and said it was in the some kind of warranty enchantment and it was covered but I had to have it done by a toyota service department. so I had it towed there. ron is a honest person and i will bring my car/truck to him from now on. check out my hoffman's toyota review to see what happened once I got it towed to them. nothing but rip offs

Whenever I have a car problem that is over my head I take it to Ron's and I am always satisfied with his service and results. Ron is trustworthy and always has your best interest. Experience #1 - I went to a nearby dealer to buy a part. I got talked into doing a test at the dealer and they came back saying I didn't need the part and that the real issue was my water pump. They wanted to charge over $1K for the total repair. A friend recommended Ron's Automotive. It was late in the day and I called his shop and told him I needed a new water pump. His quote was a lot lower. I got to his shop after hours and dropped my car and key off without meeting Ron or anyone there. Early the next morning I got a call and Ron explained that I didn't need a new water pump. All I needed was a the part that I was originally going to buy. The quote he gave me for the repair was more than fair. Experience #2 - Got a quote for a repair. He ordered the part and had the repair done in just a few days. When I went to pay he mentioned that the repair was a bit quicker than he had quoted me and took off the time it didn't take. I was blown away by his honesty. I was more than willing to pay the quoted price and Ron was up front and honest.

Ron’s fixed an oil leak on my VW Passat and replaced the timing belt. I was impressed with their thoroughness and attention to detail. The oil leak was not easy to diagnose and they spent extra time with the car to make certain the issue was properly diagnosed and repaired. Ron genuinely cares about his customers and I would definitely recommend this garage if you are looking for an honest mechanic.

We called due to a flat tire and they were able to see us same day to solve the issue. They were very nice and efficient. I would definitely recommended coming here and we will definitely be back for any other auto issues/maintenance we need! Thank you Ron's Automotive Unionville!

If I could give a 10-star review I would. From start to finish, this was a fantastic experience. One day last week my husband went to leave our home for a few errands. Before making it to the end of the street, the temperature gauge was alarming and the car began to shut down due to overheating. He got it back to the house but it appeared there was a coolant issue/leak. Called around to multiple places and was told it could be anything from a small leak to needing a new engine. Dealerships couldn't get us in for weeks, so we called Ron based on some positive feedback we had received from a Facebook group and had it towed into his shop. I can't say enough about Ron and his team. He had the car for 3 days, put it through all sorts of testing and determined the k-seal my husband added likely stopped whatever leak was there. Didn't charge us a dime! We will definitely use Ron in the future and will recommend to all we know.

Ron was excellent to deal with. I needed a new engine in my son's Audi and he helped me from start to finish with finding a good used engine and replacing it for me. I highly recommend Ron's and will use them again. They did a great job at a fair price and the communication was excellent through out. Thanks Ron to you and your staff

I've been going to Ron's for almost a decade now. He and his associates have been the most honest, punctual, accommodating, easy-going and fairly priced shop I have been too. They don't beat around the bush, are precise on their inspections and give honest estimates for repair time length. More so they never get annoyed or lose their cool when you pester them twice a day for an update when you get antsy ;). 5/5 all day.

Finding a good & TRUSTWORTHY mechanic can be really hard, especially not being from the area… Ron was recommended to me by a local police officer and I couldn’t be happier. You can tell Ron is a genuine guy with a very nice and helpful staff. It feels great knowing that they would never gouge me and they’ll only perform work that NEEDS to be performed. I finally got my local mechanic!

True story. Earlier this month, after filling up my gas tank on a frigid morning, I wasn't able to close the fuel filler door to lock it. I thought perhaps the sub-freezing temperature was the culprit. A couple of days went by and I still could not close it, so I took it to the well-known dealership in the Farmington Valley to have the problem diagnosed. I sat in the waiting room for about 20-30 minutes before the service advisor called my name. I walked out to the service desk area and was handed a printout of the repair estimate: $622.49. I was floor. The service advisor agreed to lower the price by about $75 but I thought it was still outrageously high. I asked to speak to the service manager, and he lowered the price down to $474.30 before taxes and something called "Shop Charges." Figuring I'd still be paying more than $500 to repair something that seemed minor, I walked out the door. The next day I came back and explained my situation to the Service Manager's boss. The man talked to the Service Manager and came back with a new price, agreeing to take $100 off the price, bringing it down to $374.30 before taxes and "Shop Charges." I asked if he could do better but he said that was the best he could do. Mind you, I had been taking my vehicle to this dealership for years. As a longtime customer, I felt as if I was being unfairly treated and couldn't help feel that I was being overcharged. (Yes, I know dealerships are notorious for this). Anyhow I told the man that if I walk out the door without getting this fixed at this dealership for a more reasonable price, I'm never walking through that door again to have my vehicle serviced. He didn't seem to care. Sitting in my vehicle in the parking lot, I was furious. I decided to call Ron's Automotive because I had heard great things about the place and read really good reviews. I explained the issue with the fuel filler door and was told to bring the vehicle in the following week in the morning and they could have someone take a look at it. And I'm extremely pleased that I did. As it turned out, the latch was frozen inside. The technician at Ron's pulled my vehicle into a stall and told me he was going to use a heating device to unfreeze it. Sure enough, the problem was corrected....at no charge! Think about that for a second, I was quoted more than $600 by a dealership to do a repair that literally took 10 minutes. This was my first time at Ron's and it certainly won't be my last. Any maintenance, any oil changes, I'm taking my vehicle to Ron's going forward. Thanks so much!

Ron phoned me to recommend needed brake and steering work and provided a fair parts and labor estimate and explaination. All the work was done professionally at a fair price!

Honest Auto Service! Saw positive reviews so I thought I would try Ron's for service on my 2008 Saab. Previously, I went to a national franchise operation and was quoted $1000 for brakes as well as being informed that the car had rotted shocks and rotted frame. That didn't sound right to me because I am retired and don't put more than 4k miles a year on this car. Bill, at Ron's, quoted me $700 for the brakes, so I was happy from the start. I brought it over today for Bill to check the car out in person. Upon his inspection, he told me that my brakes weren't that bad and I still had miles left before they needed replacing. The frame was not rotted and the shocks were old but didn't have to be replaced yet. I left there very impressed with Bill's expertise and honesty and not spending anything! Another example of a local business doing honest work for a fair price. When it is time for my Saab service as well as my other car, Ron's Automotive is my choice. I highly recommend Ron's.
