came here for a 2nd opinion on my brakes. they confirmed i did not need as much done as the previous place quoted me. i went back again for another problem and they fixed that as well. i feel they r an honest group of people who want to help fix your car and not overcharge or try to do unnecessary work just to make a buck! highly recommend them!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, I wish I read the reviews first. If you want a business that could care less on whether you’re happy or not. Then go here. We went in for a very minor item and came back with a highly damaged vehicle that they have zero interest in correcting. Borderline criminal.
Stopped there for gas and just decided to give them a shot on another day when I was driving through Avon. Plenty of better choices and much closer to my home in Farmington. Brought my vehicle to a mechanic and spent $878 fixing what they broke and have been 100% denied any resolution by Meineke car care center in Avon. Been there one time and this was the outcome so I won’t be back under any circumstances annndddd I will get my gas elsewhere as well
I had an excellent experience. Everyone was friendly and professional. My car went in a few minutes before the scheduled time. I didn’t have to wait long.
I have used you shop for two years and was very happy with your services. Last week I had your Avon shop to rotate the tires and give the car an overview. The mechanic didn’t tighten the lug nuts. I had to immediately turn around and had the lug nut tightened. When I asked the mechanic if he checked the tire pressure and he said yes. I went home and checked the tire pressure and discovered he did not check the tires. I am not a happy camper.

The previous ownership (pre-2020) was fantastic. Since the new team took over, it’s been nothing short of negligence and outright fraud.
We spent $1,500 on a 90k service package - struts, transmission fluid, engine coolant, spark plugs, and more. When we picked up the car, it would not start. The dash settings had been tampered with, brightness turned to zero, and something clearly wasn’t right. A tech awkwardly held the key up to the start button and forced it to work, telling us it was “fine.” It wasn’t.
A mile down the road, we pulled over. The car refused to restart for 10 minutes despite dozens of attempts. Only after holding the fob directly against the ignition would it work - something that has never been an issue before. At that point, our doors also stopped locking electronically. Their response? “It’s probably the key fob.”
We wasted time and money replacing the fob battery, only to find the real issue was that they had blown a fuse and nearly drained our car battery. Even worse - Honda confirmed they never actually changed the transmission fluid we paid for.
This isn’t just sloppy work. This is dangerous, deceptive, and potentially criminal. If corporate doesn’t resolve this, we will be pursuing every legal option available - BBB, small claims court, and beyond.
This shop went from one of the last trustworthy places in town to a textbook case of consumer fraud and negligence. Go here at your own risk.
The men were professional and very helpful very polite. They ordered the part. It came in quickly and they put in a new muffler for me. All good all good.
I do not know how to answer the question below because it was muffler work. None of what you have listed there.
So, just got the brakes done. Was pretty fast, and so far, so good. Lifetime warranty, always good. Cost a bit more than I'd expect, but with the warranty, we'll see if it evens out.

While the service was great it unfortunately was a bad day for them. As i had an appointment at 8 and was in before time. But their mechanic arrived at 9.45. So i was out at 10.30. A simple 30mins oil change tool 3hrs wait for me…
I usually go to valvoline, but a friend bought me a Groupon for an oil change at Meineke. I called for an appt. and asked about honoring the coupon. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem... it took an hour for them to change the oil and then told afterwards sorry... we don't accept Groupon anymore. Definitely won't be back. Wow, what impressive service! I was heading out on a road trip and was overdue for an oil change. None of the local mechanics could fit me in, not even my usual servicer, Mitchell Suburu. I called Meineke and the manager there said he would see what he could do. Five minutes later, he called and confirmed he could squeeze me in that afternoon. I was able to get my oil changed and safely depart for my road trip. Thanks to the dedicated, professional, and enthusiastic service at Meineke!
I had an outstanding experience at the Meineke Car Care Center in Avon, CT. I brought in my 2022 Honda Sport Hybrid because I was hearing a noise while driving and had concerns about the brakes. Even though the shop was busy, I didn’t have to wait long, and I truly appreciated how I was treated from start to finish.
Anthony, the manager, was incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to really listen to my concerns, patiently answered all of my questions, and explained what could be causing the issue in a way I could understand. He never made me feel rushed or talked over — just the opposite. He made sure I felt comfortable and informed before moving forward. That kind of service is rare.
As a woman, I especially value honesty and transparency when it comes to car repairs. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to find places that treat you with that level of respect. But Anthony and his team, including Kevin the technician, made me feel seen, heard, and taken seriously.
I can’t say enough how much I value this kind of service — respectful, honest, and genuinely helpful. It gave me peace of mind and total confidence in their work. I’ll absolutely return for future service and highly recommend this location to anyone looking for trustworthy care.

I have brought my car here a few times for oil changes and each time they have done a wonderful job. I am in and out quickly, and this most recent time I even asked if they could replace my wind shield wipers which they made happen!
Every thing is fine, as usual, except that this time the reminding message when the car starts is not cleared this time, while previously the messages were cleared after the work done here. Maybe next time I will specifically ask for it. Now each time I start the car, the message would remind me about this experience D:)

Finding a local mechanic you can trust can be difficult to do, but we have found that here. Meineke in Avon is the only place we'll take our cars. They have always been honest, prompt and help us get the best price. I just had my brakes, tires and oil done on my Jeep and they took care of it all same day at a great price!
Brought my car for an oil change as I was leaving for a long drive. They pointed out something wrong with my tire that could have been real bad. They brought me in the back and showed me what was wrong. The price was right for the fix and they did the work in the same day.
Next day, I noticed something else was wrong and we did not know if it happened during the fix the previous day, but they fixed it free of charge without me asking. Very happy with my experience!
Well the three stars is an average because the quality of people working there are fantastic. John and all the guys are extremely courteous, professional and couldn't think of anything negative to say if I tried. Unfortunately the reason it's three instead of 5 is because I felt the pricing was to be honest extremely high for a local meineke. I believe the hourly service rate is $169 per hour which is definitely on the higher side if not in sync with dealerships. The guys do great work and are honest but they cannot control what the pricing is and that said I paid $340 to have my AC system maintenance and refilled with freon. Now that's not the craziest price in the world but it is basically what I would have paid had I gone to New Country BMW dealership. Again, these guys have a job to do and they do it well but when it comes to things like an AC maintenance and freon charge I'd have to go to the Valvoline quick lube for 180 bucks next time but again, these gentlemen don't set the prices and they do stand by their work and I would definitely work with them in the future unfortunately the work was already done by the time I saw the estimate but again I do not hold this against John or the guys because he knew I needed it done and I did say to go take care of it so I believe everyone had the best of intentions and I got good service I just didn't get what I consider a good price, certainly not for my local meineke. Great people though and quality work
Great professional work and customer service. I'm new to Connecticut and did not know who to trust with my Mercedes. I had a problem with my suspension and all the other mechanics in the area wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to fix it and other things that had nothing to do with the problem. The team at Meineke Care Center diagnosed the problem, ordered the part needed, and had my car fixed in less than 2 hours. I was very satisfied with the service I received.
Literally the best service experience ever. John took what is typically a stressful, situation and turned it around where I felt like family by the time I left. The technology is fabulous - and the mechanic came out before and after service to explain everything in a very comprehensive manner - he showed me the replaced parts and why they needed to be replaced. Concierge service at very fair and affordable pricing. Top notch
Great 1st time having my car serviced at Meineke Car Care in Avon. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and they even fit me in early when I arrived about a half hour before my appointment time. Dennis was the mechanic to work on my car and he was really awesome! He explained things to me in a way that was easy to understand for someone who knows very little about cars. Definitely felt more comfortable here than I usually do at auto places.
UPDATE: Two weeks later my car wouldn’t start and I needed to have it towed. Had it towed to Meineke because as I said before I was so excited to find a trustworthy shop close to home. I ended up being charged $47 for EACH spark plug, after the district manager, Derek, reportedly put in two different discounts for me (the first because I asked if a cheaper spark plug was available- the original quote was for $71 each spark plug). When I received the final invoice and did the math and some further research, I realized that the price of spark plugs (the same brand and model that I was told I needed for my car) were $14 and a 4-pack was available for $47. When I called and said that I thought they made a mistake and charged me for four 4-packs, I was repeatedly told that there was a markup for the “full service” experience of going through an auto shop, but was assured that it is never more than 2 or 2.5x. Derek insisted that what he paid for the spark plugs fit this equation, which means at best he paid $28 for spark plugs that I cannot find online for more than $14… Someone here is being taken advantage of and I think it might be me. By the way, the online platform they use for their invoices doesn't break out the labor from the parts costs- I had to call specifically to ask for that to be done for me over the phone. The cherry on top of this whole ordeal is that when I got back my "courtesy inspection" it said that one item needed "Immediate Attention": the cabin air filter which I replaced 4 months ago. When I shared this on the phone with Derek, he did apologize, but did say "well I didn't try to sell you on that" like it was something to be proud of. Unfortunately it's back to the drawing board to find a trustworthy mechanic in the area.
So glad to have found an auto shop I can trust this close to home. The customer service is fantastic- Bryan was very friendly and honest. I dropped my car off, but probably could have waited for it. So many other auto shops I've tried feel scammy or have terrible hours or only allow drops offs... This place seems to do it all well!
I had a check engine light that came on suddenly the day before a road trip. I had called everywhere in the area but had no luck. I was able to be quickly accommodated at Meineke which was a lifesaver. I was very impressed by the kind and courteous staff, especially Bryan and Derrick. When they didn't have the part I needed in stock they quickly arranged with a local auto supply store to have it delivered in rapid time. I was very impressed with the service and will definitely be taking my car back in the future!
Walked into this location today after a quick call without an appointment for an issue with my undercarriage with something that was lose. Derrick was super helpful and took a quick look and actually fixed my issue for free! He was also super friendly and helpful. He also checked out my brakes that needed replacing and gave me a quote. Highly recommend!
I want to thank Damien and Dennis for the great service I received this morning. I had scheduled a brake inspection at another shop that “lost” my appointment and pushed me out until Saturday. I stopped by Meineke and Damien was able to get me in right away. Dennis inspected all four brakes and determined that my error message “replace brake pads” was due to a bad sensor NOT the need for new pads and rotors. He showed me the wire break point and within an hour, had the part and it was installed and the code cleared. He pointed out another issue that I need to address and referred me to a special shop as they didn’t have the capability to remedy the leak. So for all that accuse shops for replacing unnecessary parts, my experience was just the opposite. Damien and Dennis were honest, communicated with great detail and were prompt in getting me in and out. To the owner, Mark, my compliments to you and them on a job well done. They both deserve 5 stars. I will be back due to the quality of service, value and honesty I experienced.
