After my car was hit in an accident, it was towed to AC auto Body and they were excellent. They made sure everything was done safely and in a thorough way they coordinated beautifully with the insurance company. As a family owned business, they went that extra mile that makes Family own business is still my gold standard. They respected my wishes about safety. And they shared their valuable expertise in how to deal with a car being repaired & paid for by an insurance company. The whole team was professional & kind

We needed a tow on a Saturday for a dead battery, and AC Autobody was there under 15 minutes, replaced the battery and drove it back to us promptly on Monday. Very happy with the service we received!

I’ve had really positive experiences here. Diane and the staff has been very accommodating, fitting me in last minute for oil changes and even helping me out with a DMV emissions test when I needed it. They’re friendly, quick, and make the whole process feel easy. It’s nice to see a family run business. It’s great to have a place that’s willing to help and keeps things running smoothly.

I have been going to AC Auto Body for the last 20 years. I would never go anywhere else. They make things extremely easy and give top notch impeccable service every time. My most recent visit was for a car accident I had gotten into. My first call was to AC, Diane answered immediately, I dropped off the car the next day, the rental car company picked me up right at AC. I couldn’t believe how easy everything was. My bumper was fixed to perfection, and I also had a tear in the front seat. The front seat cover was also replaced which was intricate with the lumbar and heated seats. Diane called me a week later that the car was ready and she also called Enterprise to notify them I would be dropping off my rental so they were ready when I arrived to drive me to AC. Anthony, owner, and Diane are the best and so nice to work with. No need to go anywhere else!

I showed up on a Friday afternoon to get a quote for body work. The shop was able to get me on the schedule for the next Monday, and had my car done by Tuesday morning. They did an excellent job! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

This is the second time I have had to turn to AC Auto (for auto repair) for the caring of my front left bumper at the hands of the lovely family ..putting up with USAA was the biggest problem but they worked to get my car beautiful again and in time for me to head to Maine. Amazing and you cannot find any better service or car care in Fairfield County.❤️❤️❤️❤️

My 20 year old daughter was travelling from Rhode Island to head back to college in Florida. She called me from the Merrit Parkway at night in a complete panic. Her Audi Q5 broke down. The police helped get her to AC and I called them first thing in the morning explaining our dilemma. They were absolutely amazing! The looked at it right away, diagnosing many different issues and taking care of them all in one day knowing our concern for our daughter. When they finished they called and gave me the amount of the invoice and I was amazed at how reasonable it was. So much so I asked if they could add some to it for the mechanic. I highly recommend these people, they are good people and know how to take care of people, not just cars. Thank you AC!!! You guys are the best in my book.

I and a few friends have had nothing but a positive experience with AC Auto. The owner Anthony, his son Alex and their assistant Diane will go out of their way to accommodate any request. I perceive them to also be very reliable and honest I their dealings. I often recommend them to my friends and clients.

My alternator died on our travels from NH to CT. Alex responded fast and had my van fixed within a day. He and the staff were super friendly and helpful!

Anthony and his team were incredibly helpful and quick with fixing my car. Super easy to make an appointment and my car was done in a couple of hours for a fair price!!

I love this place so much! They are kind, professional, and brilliant. I always have a pleasant experience there. Most recently I dropped my car off to figure out why my check engine light was on. They worked diligently on a very busy day to figure it out and once they pinpointed the problem, they then reached out to my car manufacturer to confirm that the piece that needed to be replaced is under extended warranty and relayed all that to me and what I needed to do next. That was really above and beyond and they saved me a bundle! They are reasonable and they are your friend. I love them!

Do not believe the negative reviews! My car was in a collision this morning and was towed to AC. They have fantastic service and walked me through the stressful steps with insurance. They were more than understanding that I wanted the car to be fixed at a body shop that is owned by a family friend. In different circumstances, I would love to have worked with them. Businesses don’t hang around for 40+ years by accident.

I can't say enough good things about AC Auto Body and Mechanical Service! While traveling for the US Navy, I found myself in a tight spot when my car's water pump failed. I reached out to them on short notice, and they came through in a big way. Not only did they replace the water pump quickly, but they also offered me an amazing deal that I truly appreciated. The staff treated me with kindness and professionalism, making the whole experience much easier during a stressful time. My daughter and I were in a collision and towed by AC. We were treated very well by the woman in the office, but the owner acted as if he could not be bothered with our situation, especially when I called a few days later to ask a few questions and ask if they could retrieve my registration from the vehicle. We'd just had a traumatic experience and the guy is flipping me one word answers as if to be as unhelpful as possible. My guess? We were a total loss and there was little money to be made by this auto body shop. We were an inconvenience, and in my opinion, no effort was made to even pretend otherwise.

Since our move to New Canaan 8 years ago, AC Auto has been our go-to service center for all of our automotive needs. From my vehicle to all of our family cars, they have always been extremely friendly, attentive and thorough with all of their service and repairs.

I strongly endorse AC - they've been taking care of my mother's Buick Enclave for years - friendly, attentive, professional, responsive, fair pricing plus they're a locally-owned shop based in our hometown of New Canaan - the chief mechanic Anthony thoroughly reviewed the estimate with me and even pointed out other parts that needed to be replaced for safety reasons (important for my 84-yr old mom who is still driving!). On top of that, AC picked up the car and returned it spick and span after the job was complete - thanks for the great service

Everyone at AC Auto is responsive and friendly. I take all of our cars to them and they have always come through with honest feedback on what needs to be repaired. They have gone out of their way to accommodate my family and I think of Alex and Anthony as my friends after such a long professional relationship.

First of all I didn't choose to take my car to this place, once there I wanted to tow it to my house but the owner rudely told me that they wouldn't do it since they closed at 5:00 pm it was 4:15 pm so I told him that I would take it myself He told me that it had to be before 5 pm or else I would have to pay him one more day and rudely he charged me 248 dollars for towing my car from the place of the events to his workshop and that he would also only receive cash Please think about it before doing business with these people. I don't recommend it.

Been working with this team for years. Most recently I brought in my old car for significant suspension work. They showed me how bad the frame was damaged by rust and advised that the repairs would be a waste of money and effort. They could have easily taken my money. Instead they provided the kind of honest counsel that is rare these days. They are a local business that I enjoy working with.

My car got taken here after it had been recovered from being stolen. Not my choice to bring here. They were rude over the phone. And wouldn't release my car to the auto body of my choice after insurance did their inspection. They kept insisting I hadn't released my car over the phone/ email. When I had done it three times!!!!! The lady who answered the phone got mad when It became known I wanted to fix my car elsewhere. My shop attempted multiple times to coordinate a tow AFTER my insurance had inspected my car. A/C required I pay cash only for my cars time in their lot (sketchy why cash only). After my body shop had such difficulty trying to tow/ requesting cash only i had my insurance deal with them directly. I feel like my car was being held hostage it sucked!

I used A&C Autobody for the first time this week. Their estimate was fair, they scheduled my car’s body work within a week and they finished right on time, as promised. The work is outstanding, the people are very nice and I highly recommend them. This shop is terrific!!!

31 days to fix a car that was supposed to take 10 days. I forgive that since my accident happened in mid August and people vacation. I also had supplemental damage. But when I drove my car off the lot. I had no AC. They charged it. I drove away again, still AC not working I’ve been waiting 2 hours and don’t know if it will be fixed today. I live an hour away. . Clearly, they did not do a system check after repairs to make sure everything was working. I did not have a choice of where to send my vehicle because my accident was on a highway and only authorized tow trucks can pick up. If you have a choice, I would NOT reccommend using this auto repair.

I would give them 100 stars if I could! We were traveling through town and broke down in our vintage ‘89 Dodge Ram Camper Van. They don’t make parts for this year anymore, and they went over and above to get us back on our Appalachian Trail adventure of our lives by retrofitting a new fuel pump! This shop is top-notch. They worked nonstop to get us back on the road and made it only a two-day delay in our schedule!

I was involved in an accident on the Merritt Parkway and AC Autobody towed my vehicle to their body shop and helped me sort out my insurance coverage and plan the next steps of what to do after the accident. During the towing process, the driver was very professional, quick to load my car and provided me with a ride to the body shop. During a very stressful time, the AC Autobody staff was able to help me figure out what to do and saved me from being stranded on the side of the Merritt Parkway while waiting for a ride. I appreciate them and their great service and would highly recommend them for towing and automotive repairs! Thank you!
