Inspected my car and said everything was fine, despite known problems with the front tires, including visible dry rot. Said they mixed up my inspection with someone else's car and had to inspect it again, necessitating a second appointment weeks out. After replacing the tires, the front wheel has been making a smacking sound on the road. Wheel cover doesn'took like it was fully reattached. Is it related? I wouldn't know. I was quoted $200 to inspect it to see what's wrong with the tires that they put on. My last inspection, tires, and maintenance was about $700, but they want to charge to inspect a tire that they put on. Not happy with the reason for needing multiple inspections, or asking to pay for a follow-up inspection for their own service. They seem busy enough to not care about referrals or repeat business. I certainly don't feel taken care of.

My battery died . With a boost from a friend, I drove in to c and h half an hour later I drove home with a new battery. Quick and efficient and all with a smile .

C&H is my favorite auto repair shop. They are very helpful, trustworthy, and competent. I have always had great experiences here with service and with their communication. Outstanding in every way.

Made unusual request and had it acted upon perfectly. Matt who handled the transaction did so courteously and on time. A pleasure to work with him and his associates.

Update Mar 2025: I have been going to C&H for more than eight years now (most recently Mar 2025) for all maintenance/service for a 2009 and 2017 (and prev 2011) Audi and could not wish for a better auto shop. Honest, professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff combined with competitive pricing makes this my one and only stop for anything car related. Anything from annual oil changes/maintenance; bi-annual summer/winter tire swaps, replacing brakes/rotors to the infrequent check engine light and “weird” noises etc. The team has always gone above and beyond diagnosing the issue(s), providing proper/fair estimates and explanations before delivering excellent work. I continue to highly recommend C&H for all automotive services. Thank you to the C&H team!

C&H has the best customer service in town. Their prices are so reasonable and they really go the extra mile to make sure your car is safe and at optimal performance. I wouldn't trust my cars with any other business.

I have been at C&H for several years now for my foreign car. They are the best automotive business I know. I trust them with all my cars and call them when I need a referral for something they don’t do. C&H is kind and teach me about my car. C&H is comfortably priced for all the work done and you don’t feel ripped off ever. I don’t want anyone else to work on my car engines.

Was between 3-4 stars, but giving 4 due to the friendliness. They are quite nice and responsive. The shop seems clean and well-organized and I would definitely trust them to do a good job working on my car. The price, however, is quite a bit higher than what could be considered the market rate for swapping tires onto new wheels. I take some blame as I should have asked for the price before dropping my things off, but I did not expect it to be roughly double what I would pay somewhere else. From one of the other reviews, it seems like another customer was quoted a price lower than what he was actually billed for, so I am not sure that asking the price beforehand would have made much of a difference. 4 stars if it fits your budget and you need the work done carefully, but 3 stars if it is a simple repair and you have other options at better prices nearby.

Recently had front & rear complete brake replacement for my Mercedes at C&H Autos. They offered excellent customer service from the initial quote to end repair and Matt was a pleasure to deal with. Very competitive prices compared to Mercedes and they had my vehicle in and out within the day. Would most definitely use C&H again for any future repairs.

I was visiting family in New Canaan just for the weekend and I needed a last minute check on my vehicle. I was worried about my battery failing and they were able to take me in on Friday without an appointment. They were able to diagnose the issue quickly and replaced my battery so I was able to make the drive home safely. What a relief! I am thankful for C&H’s expertise, efficiency and welcoming customer service! Thank you!

I cannot praise Matt and Sean (and everyone else!) at C & H Auto enough for the service they provide. We have been having our cars repaired there for years and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Whether it’s a big job or I just need a small issue checked out, I know I can stop by at any point during business hours and they’ll take a look no matter how busy they are, as well as offer real, honest advice. I have countless examples of their professionalism and integrity, but most recently I had an emergency on a busy Friday on a holiday weekend and they managed to squeeze me in. I’m not sure where else I would receive such attention and quality work.

I was driving up from Northern NJ to Boston when my exhaust broke a third of the trip in. Luckily, C&H wasn't far from where I was and the team took me in right away after I called in, and had the lift waiting for me when I arrived so they could inspect immediately. They patched up the damage for a very fair price and I was back on the roads in less than an hour. Last night, I dropped my car off in New Canaan to have my BMW checked out. I was told when I got my last oil change from a different shop that I was leaking oil and that it needed to be fixed immediately, as I am headed to Florida on a trip later this week. Took it to Sean at C&H and he said this was a really minor issue that could be handled at a later date, and he cleaned the oil off my entire engine so that I was ready for my trip at no cost. Sean is a true professional and really takes care of his customers. I recommend C&H to everyone who is looking for a place that does good work for really fair prices. Thanks again!

C&H Automotive is awesome! I highly recommend using them for all your automotive needs. I purchased 4 new tires for my Range Rover and they put them on, did the balance and alignment perfectly! Steve and Sean are two of the nicest people I have met. I needed something looked at on my SUV and they took me without an appointment. They even dropped me off at home and then my car later in the day. They had the car fully serviced the same day and made sure it was 100%. They welcome you in and make sure any concerns or needs are taken care of. It is truly refreshing to find people that care. Not to mention the price was great. I love to stay local and this is truly a gem in New Canaan. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. So glad I have a place to go to and trust.
