Scott is very rude and you can tell he all he cares about is trying to rip you off. He adds payments to your bill without reason, hangs up mid phone call when questioned, and refuses to accommodate or even work with the customer. Would not recommend this place in the slightest, has been a terrible experience.
Another company feeding off people at their most vulnerable time. Wife broke down yesterday, cop called this company without even giving us the opportunity to call elsewhere or contact our insurance company. I tried getting on the phone to ask the driver how much it would cost and he played stupid as though he couldn't hear me. They also refused to tow it anywhere else except their garage. Finally gave my wife the bill after waiting there for over half hour and claimed they were giving her a great price of $300 to tow the car less than 8 miles. And then told us we needed to get the car within the hour or we would get hit with $30 overnight fee.
I would beware of this place. My car was involved in an accident and was towed here. Turned out my car was totaled. I have comprehensive so my insurance told me to clear out my stuff and sign a release form. When I got there, I noticed some stuff was missing from my car that was originally there. Nothing of value, thank God. My wife asked the owner if they get break-ins in which he responded yes. But the place is fenced in and he didn't seem concerned by it. This place is shady so again, beware.
Terrible experience. Got my car towed in November 2023 thanksgiving weekend. Car was not registered so for less then a mile the total with tow and tow ride was 500. The worst part about it. They charged me that day, then the charge disappeared only for the stupid charge to return in january 2024. These crooks got to do better
Do not use this place. They are a total rip off. My son was in an accident and police had the car towed there and now the owner won't release the car without payment of over $600. It was a 2.4 mile tow from accident and 4 miles to my house. My son even offered to pay for the tow from accident to the shop so that they would let him get his tools and personal belongings as well as the plates but the owner said they would only accept cash. They are a scam and breaking the laws of CT limits on towing charges.
Karen was wonderful to work with and so helpful. She kept our car safe & worked with us on the final price, even though the car had a much longer stay at Family Auto than we wanted it to (no fault on their part). This place is a RIP OFF. PERIOD! I had my car stolen and got towed here on Saturday. We wanted to bring my car home to a mechanic the same day because the car was drivable but the owner refused to do the paperwork, telling us to come on Monday instead. When we went there on Monday, he said payment in cash, that too a large sum. He should have informed us earlier when we called or when we met on Saturday that the payment would be cash. How do you expect someone to carry such large sum of cash always with you. He was rude, unprofessional and had a big attitude all the time. Don't ever do business here.
avoid !!! they stole my uncles handicap sticker from his car. The insurance came out and said the car can be repaired and then the owners said it couldn’t. Then when we brought the car to another place they fixed it no problem. Seems like they run a scam business or just simply don’t know what they’re doing
terrible experience. the owner and the woman behind the counter always had a lousy attitude. the job was "completely" finished in three stages. The staff does not bother to review the estimate to know what work they have to do. I had to take my car a total of three times to finish it ... horrible experience
My elderly mother went to this place and didn’t understand about her deductible. Please do not have your elderly parent go and conduct business alone. She had to pay a $1000 deductible to get her car back and didn’t have the money. They told my sister by phone that my mother’s work that was to be completed was inspected by her insurance adjuster and later said they never said that when I went in person. Bottom line please monitor your elderly parents and grandparents when they get any work done and when dealing with insurance and costs.
I have not been there yet personally but my car was recently stolen and totaled in the process. this is where it was towed to. even though my car was taken, I have to pay them out of pocket if I want to get my car back. to me it's very unfair
I was involved in a car accident in January 2022 and they were nothing short of excellent. From my tow-truck driver (who dropped me off at home in the snow) to Maria in the office who was the most helpful person ever, they went above and beyond to help.
My elderly mother just had her car fixed at Family Garage and she could not say enough nice thing about the service she received at Family Garage. Many thanks to this company for their wonderful service! The price was right, job was done perfectly and they go the extra mile!
THIS IS THE WORSE auto body shop ever. The owners are EXTREMELY RUDE. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN OWN A BODY SHOP IF YOU DON’T LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING! I have never dealt with anybody so disrespectful before. And the prices for them just to tow your car??? RIDICULOUS!!!! I probably wouldn’t have mind if they were nice and reliable but my experience was the EXACT OPPOSITE! IF YOU ARE READING THIS SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!
ABSOLUTELY the WORST towing company I have ever dealT with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They dodge phone calls, do not shop up on time and overall extremely unprofessional. I hope this review stops at least one person from throwing their money in the trash can.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!! My daughter had a car accident near Family Garage (on the same street) in Bpt. Ct. Scottie (Owner) BEGGED!!! Me to allow him to do the work. Reluctantly, I agreed. BAD DECISION on my part. He did an awful job! The front bumper came off the car. He had to complete that at no additional charge. That's the 1st visit back. The 2nd visit back was the air conditioning system no longer worked. He fixed it with attitude. The 3rd visit back was a cracked axle. He was so rude to my daughter, she took her car and does not want him to touch it again. I can't blame her for that. He (Scottie) had "THE NERVE". to call my Insurance company to report damage to the right front tire. Ugghhh there is No damage to any tire on the car. My guess is he's trying to get additional money to repair what he never completed the 1st time.
Family Garage is a complete scam and they won't be in business much longer.

Towing thieves! Review is long overdue. Pray you dont have anything of value in your vehicle because the towman will steal it and the owner will deny it. When asked he will pretend hes never heard of such a thing and is highly offended. Disregards the validity of your complaint and will ask you to leave. Does not care about any paying customer. Owner is full of that brown stuff and is as much of a thief as his workers. Smile! This ones for you Family Auto.

My experience with this place has been awful. They are TAKING ADVANTAGE of a situation that they did NOT needed to have removed the car from MY driveway. They allegedly saying that the Police of Bridgeport CT had called them to remove the car from the accident. Not to mention that the insured is a State Representative (Steve Stafstrom), that is trying to have his medical condition be the cause or nature of the accident that he drove through a linked fence, up to the tree in front of my house, flipping the car on top of both parked cars in my driveway. The Esurance Insucance Company (adjuster Jayme Padnick), has been saying that they won't cover anything in this claim due to the caused issue was a sudden medical condition (he is not hold at fault), when is a situation like this they refused to pay or discuss the case at all. In the mean time, my car was driven off my driveway, I was in shock with what happened and the Family Garage guy asked for my keys to check inside of the vehicle. I did NOT authorize any removal of my property. I called several times trying to deal with this issue and spoke to Maria, the most rude person to speak on the phone with, when I said the word advantage she hangup on me. She would NOT let me move my car back to where it was (my driveway), because she wants to get paid over $1500. Since I don't have that kind of money sitting around due to personal problems and coming to find out about bipolar disorder its kind of hard deal with everything at once on top being asked to move out of my place. I got a lot in my plate and they are making this even more impossible, not only she will file for abandonment which the car will now become their possession, and I will incur more bills on top of the whatever amount owe almost $2K. I am sure they have done this before many times and I am going to expose this issue in every site and every where possible to see how disgusted by their conduct. VERY UNETHICAL. Taking advantage of a mother of two kids that depends on the car to go to work and provide for her family. Now without a car and losing my job. Thanks to this representative that his insurance already paid for his car and he is not happy with the amount they have paid him. This whole situation became a HUGE SCAM. If I could give NEGATIVE STARS!

DO NOT LET THEM TOWE YOUR CAR Got into a bad car accident the ambulance had to come and get me so my car got towed by them got my car back a week later because the insurance company need to see the car and the damages when I got my car back some went inside the arm rest took everything out and the $400 that I had in there. they are thieves do not get ur car towed by them
I had a great experience at Family Auto Body from the moment I called to see if I could bring in my car for an estimate. The woman on the phone was extremely friendly and was willing to help. When I brought the car for an estimate, I was welcomed with the same friendliness. I got a great and affordable quote and the job that they did was absolutely amazing for the price. They did a fantastic job. Thank you!
I was in a car accident, and the police called this company to take the car to their garage. I did remove a lot of stuff I had in my trunk but I forgot my beats headphones and a flashlight which cost me a total of around $145.00, so when I got my car back my belongings were gone. So if you ever use this company I suggest you clean out your car and take all your belongings out before they put their hands on it.
Had our 2006 Honda Accord in for a bumper repair. The work was performed quickly and paint matched to the body. The staff was friendly and helpful when dealing with the insurance company. A surprise addition to their service was a full car wash including the interior. We will go back to them if we ever need their service again.
Recently brought my E350 to get fixed. Some knucklehead had backed into my car. When I got my car back, I was amazed at the great job they did. Just like new. It was not the first time I had brought one of my cars to be fixed. Every time, I was very pleased with the results. Marie is awesome and Scott and Kevin as well. Don't let the non-modernized front office fool you. They do amazing work.
Unprofessional. Prices are calculated off the top of an elderly woman's head. No price break down until after payment. Car was towed during flood, refused to give me the price to get my car out of the yard when I came in 2 days after tow. Then 2 weeks later when accompanied by staff was given a price off 750 for a tow of 2 miles and two weeks storage. I was given two prices $30 off from each other because the do not calculate efficiently. On top of that items that were in my glove box were stolen.
Well I'll be the odd ball. I was just having a conversation with my co worker about towing services. And I will share with you what I shared with her. Family garage towed a vehicle to my father's home. When putting the vehicle down on our driveway they struck the side of the home on the way down. The truck driver immediately notified his supervisor, he came back to us and told us to bring the vehicle back at our convenience and they would repair it. Np damage to the home. And the vehicle had mechanical damage hence the tow to the home, once we fixed the mechanical problem we brought the vehicle to them. They fixed the vehicle in a timely manner, a good job done. We had the vehicle foe many years of service. It was a pleasure to do business with them.
I wish I could give negative stars. We were in a car accident, and the car got towed to Family Garage by the police against us asking to get it towed to a familiar location closer to us. The car was totaled, so about two hours after the accident when we went to pick up our personal belongings, the woman behind the counter told us we had to pay $500 before we could go to the car for tow/storage fees. She then went on to say "it's okay, AAA will reimburse the total cost." After calling AAA, we found out that was absolutely false. She then went on to say "you can pay $300 and sign over the title to Family Garage and we will call it even." After driving over an hour to get there by noon to reconcile everything, the wonderful establishment wasn't even open even though we were told they would be there until 4pm. I truly don't understand how this place is even in business.
Needless to say, a very nice gentleman who was towing in a car allowed me to get all of my stuff out and told me not to believe the scam this garage is running. Thank you sir, you were a blessing.
Worse body shop I have ever dealt with, I bought my car to be repaired because my insurance company recommended them and I have had nothing but stress, from day 1, with the workmanship. Not too mention they added more damage to the car. Do not use them, rip offs.
My son was in an accident and had to go to hospital and they towed car from seen. Car was totaled, we went to the garage to get his personal items from the car and told us we owed them $500 dollars to get items out of car and then he raised it to $625 as we were speaking to him. Then he says well what can you pay and you can get your personal items out of the car. This should be illegal they will get paid by insurance company! There probably send insurance company full bill too. RIP OFF! They should change the name of the company to THEIF GARAGE. Will never recommend there service to anyone. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE NO STARS!
worse service ever! so I had my bumper replaced by them and they didn't do their job right. Bumper was not install properly and has been hitting the road ever since. Brought the car back to them and the owner was super mean - he told me that my tires were oversize and that is causing problem! After I pointed out to him that bumper is detached in couple places he started to yell on me!! And told me he's done and never want to see me again!!! Believe it or not what an old creepy liar!
