Car didn’t start so I needed it towed to a mechanic shop. When Jordan arrived he was super helpful and tried to diagnose the car before he had to get it up on his tow truck. Turned out to be something simple and he fixed it right there for us! Thank you!

They ripped me off once and tried to do it again. Tried to charge me $350 for something I ended up paying $40 for, after charging hundreds for not being able to diagnose anything and physically doing nothing on it.

Beware! These guys are shady. Their primary business is towing; auto service is secondary. After scheduling an appointment for a standard oil change (I told them I would have to wait so it needed to be at a specific time), I arrived at the designated time to find their only mechanic was out on a tow call, which is clearly all they really care about. I came back a few hours later and waited. After about 45 minutes, they presented me with a bill for over $300 dollars - for an oil change! They didn't even fill the washer fluid! Their hourly rate is insane, and they overcharge for parts. Take my advice - look elsewhere.

I’ve trusted Doran with several of our family’s vehicles over the years and, until recently, considered them competent and fair. That changed when my 20-year-old son brought in his Toyota FJ for an overheating issue. Doran diagnosed a cracked engine block, claimed the vehicle needed a complete engine replacement, and then offered him $500 for it. I had the vehicle independently evaluated by a Toyota repair shop in Boulder. Their findings were unequivocal: the engine block was not cracked, and no replacement was needed. In other words, Doran’s diagnosis was false. Trying to take advantage of a young driver—especially with a fabricated diagnosis—is unconscionable. It’s conduct that should put a business out of operation. If there were an avenue to make that happen, I would take it. I’ll be updating this review every two months to ensure that prospective customers know exactly who they’re dealing with.

I needed my entire power steering rack replaced 4 years after they replaced it. These guys were extremely helpful and friendly. They also got it taken care of very quickly and cost effectively. I will definitely be going back to them in the future!

Bait-and-switch tactics and poor communication — beware. If you value transparency and expect a shop to honor your instructions, look elsewhere. This felt like a bait-and-switch designed to pad the bill. I won’t be returning, and I’d caution others to get everything in writing before handing over your keys. I brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic inspection which resulted in recommending a transmission fluid service, which I was quoted at $493. I clearly authorized that service and expected to pay the $493. Instead,the shop also charged me for “diagnostic services” — without my consent — and charged me $185 for it. When I questioned the charge, I was told diagnostic charges were “standard procedure.” This is very much not standard across any other shop. It is not what I agreed to, and it certainly wasn’t disclosed upfront they would be charging for both. Not to mention my vehicle was trapped there for almost a week while they had “scheduling conflicts”.

These guys were awesome. We got stuck up near Mt Zirkel wilderness, and they were there to tow us out in an hour. $335 for the tow, seemed super reasonable. Fixed the busted driveshaft and got us out the door within a couple hours on a Saturday. Everyone was courteous, friendly, and professional.

We were on vacation with our new motorhome. We tried to start the unit, it would turn over yet would not start. Luckily we had our jeep with us and left the motorhome behind to be towed by Doran towing. Jordan was very helpful with both setting up the tow as well as finding a dealership that would take it. Kenny the owner/ driver stayed in touch with me through the whole process. He towed that motorhome late at night into the morning from Meeker to Loveland. Kenny took the time to retrieve our outdoor mat that was trapped under the wheels of the coach. Very professional company with top notch service. Results like that are hard to find these days. 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Put in a roadside assistance request through my state farm app and these guys showed up in less than 20 minutes! Tim Got us in our truck quick! Professional, simple, fast service👍 thanks guys!

Exceptional Service! I can't say enough positive things about my experience. I called Doran Auto Repair by chance while I was in a bad spot with poor cell reception. I am so grateful that I did. It was a weekend and shops were all closed. Kenny went far above and beyond, towing us back to a place where I could repair my vehicle, and helping track down tools and parts. I can certainly say without a doubt I would have happily paid double for the tow. It's hard to find this kind of care anymore.

Abysmal customer service, and I guess just service in general. They ordered the wrong differential housing 3 times and took 6 months to repair my truck all because they don't know how to pick up the phone and contact their customers with any information or questions. They could have simply asked "what is the gear ratio" the day the vehicle was left with them but instead they made zero attempts to get in touch with me. At least I have my truck back and knowledge to never trust this shop.

Great group of guys AND service. They are my go-to to get my car service needs met. Most recently after my car battery died (due to lack of use and the cold while I was traveling) I was told I needed a new battery by the AAA dispatched gentleman. When I took it to them, after my ca was jump-started, Doran ran some tests and said it was unlikely that I did in fact need a battery, however if I did, I should go back to the manufacturer as the battery is under warranty and I shouldn't pay a penny for a new battery. They could have easily said "yes you do... we'll sell it to you" and I would have been none the wiser. From my experience, they go above and beyond and genuinely care.

Kenny and staff again provided great help and service. On a Friday night we had a broken spring on our boat trailer. Went and got the trailer from the road side in North Park. Then went above and beyond to get the parts and fixed as soon as possible. Highly recommend. This is the third time through the years we have needed their services and each time absolute 5 STAR SERVICE!

We knew it was the rotors when the car began vibrating violently coming down the west side of the Eisenhower Tunnel and then again over Rabbit Ears Pass. Doran got the parts and replaced all four extremely warped rotors on our Volvo in just over an hour. Jordon was very friendly and down to earth. Would recommend them to anyone.

I dunno about their tow service, but I do know their employee driving from Craig to steamboat the other morning was extremely rude. Holds us all up for miles, and then when the passing lanes comes he floors . Only a couple of people were able to pass. Terrible and immature. I sure hope I never need that reckless guy to tow my car.

We came up to steamboat for the weekend and got a flat tire, after trying Yampa tire (who doesn’t keep any tires in stock) we called Doran. They got us in within an hour, fixed the tire & we were back on the road. The shop owner was so kind and helpful. If I lived up here I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

These guys helped us out and repaired our Model Y’s flat tire last minute notice and very quickly. The price was a little steep around $75, but for a small town, emergency repair where we were out of options and no one else was open, I’d happily pay that again. Thanks guys for saving our trip!

Kenny came in clutch tonight! He was reliable, prompt, organized, and friendly! They have helped us twice now and each time was well worth it! Highly recommend Doran for towing and auto repair in Steamboat!

Jordon is a wonderful employee! He saved the day when my rental vehicle wouldn’t start at night. I was panicking and alone at the time, and he made sure to help me remain optimistic and calm in a scary situation. You can tell just how passionate Jordon is about his job. We unfortunately got a flat tire as we were driving into Steamboat, and Doran’s tow truck answered our Geico roadside assistance call. The mechanic was extremely prompt and changed our spare in minutes. We gave the shop a call to see if they’d be able to patch our tire despite the fact they closed in about 30 minutes. Kenny was so kind and took great care of us, fixing the tire in just a few minutes. He even gave us some recommendations for the rest of our road trip! If you need auto service, we highly recommend Doran for quality and friendly service!

Amazing service. My truck would not start on a cold day. Doran thought it might be lack of fuel and the steep driveway and drove me to the gas station. We added a gallon and it still would not start. He the towed it, added gas and charged the battery. 40 minutes later, the truck was running and I learned not to let the tank go more than 3/4 empty.

My husband and I came up from the front range for a long weekend, and the car started acting up. Doran was the only shop in town open on Saturday, and Kenny, the owner, was super friendly. He figured out the problem with my car, fixed it, and charged a reasonable price. He said he doesn't schedule regular work on Saturdays so he's free to help people like us with emergencies. Kenny saved our romantic weekend!

This place was literally AMAZING! My husband's truck was acting up and we had changed the spark plugs and couldn't figure out what was going on but we needed to get whatever was happening fixed as we were going to be making our way back to Missouri. Despite booking in to next week these guys so kindly got us in as immediately as I called and got my husband's truck fixed up for us! Literally cannot rate them high enough. The bedside manner was awesome, the prices were more than fair and they totally went out of their way for us. We will definitely come back of we are ever in the area and in need of service!

Wow! We came out to our truck at 11 AM on a Saturday and had a completely flat tire. We put on the spare on and took the damaged tire here. They fixed it within 30 mins and they close at 2 PM on Saturdays. They did an excellent job and most importantly, they got us in right away. Highly recommend is an understatement. They are awesome!

We had car issues on July 9th (late afternoon/evening on Friday ) - (yes, a bit late with this review) while heading for a wedding that weekend. We contacted Doran Auto Repair and they let us bring our car in early Saturday morning. Impressive!!! Thank you, Kenny! We appreciated everything you did. :)

Our motorhome broke down on the mountain east of Steamboat. After hours of searching for a tow, we were saved by Doran Auto Repair & Towing. Kenny and company towed our Class A motor home and us back to town and performed the needed radiator replacement. This is a tricky job in a Class A and they performed the job for a very good price. It's no fun being broke down on the mountain but Kenny can rescue you with fast friendly reasonable towing and repair!

The owner, Kenny, may as well be my magician and he is the nicest man I have ever met in the mechanic industry - who has ever worked on one of my vehicles, with this current one being the most challenging. (I’ve previously owned over ten cars and SUVs, but never met a mechanic like Kenny!) It had to be towed several times and he picked it up for me for free. I had previously brought it to another mechanic that was supposedly highly recommended, but could not solve the mysterious simple problem on an old truck, yet he could charge me for parts and labor I didn’t need. I have no doubt in my mind that Kenny could ever overcharge anyone and his customer service is ridiculous! He let me contact him via his personal cell phone and was able to get my vehicle back in working order, and it is still running!!! (It should be dead by now.) I cannot stress what a pleasure he is to work with and you don’t need to stress about anything if your vehicle is in his well-skilled hands. Even his tow truck driver was so nice, plus his shop has the most reasonable price in town to tow your car. Best experience ever! I recommend him to everyone I know and you should too! Honestly I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience and don’t know how to thank him for his kindness, and for helping me out when I was in a difficult situation.
